Am I the only one using max temp on my vapes

i had a quick question to the FC community:
How many use max setting on their vapes? I use 445 for my herbie, 410 for my mighty, and red for minivap for every session. I rarely use the typical temps of other vaporists like 370. Am I missing anything? I really like the strong pop from high temps, but feel like I am not utilizing all the benefits of my vapes.

If I have limited time available I do the same.
But even if I don't, I tend to use the highest temp that will not hurt my throat.
With glass, it's max temp all the time.
Since the MV is reluctant to reach red temp from a cold start, I usually do the first hits on green and then red.
On the Crafty it's 190 and then 210°C because of flavour (same for minivap).
On the Puffit 2 it's max temp all the time.
So I'd say I'm pretty much the same.

I was taking my Lotus up to near combustion vaping temps. And when I switched to my Nano, I was running it in the 7.5 temp range for MAX clouds.

But I grew to really dislike the "high" at those temps. For my body, I really didn't need it, and I didn't enjoy it. So I've dialed back the temps a bit to around 400 and have really enjoy the results for the past few months

That's the fun of vaporizing - experimentation! :science:

I don't always use the highest temp it depends on the cannabis I'm using. If the cannabis is more dry I use a lower temp. When I'm using my Solo, I often use the 391F temp setting dry. If i go over 400 degrees I usually use water filtration. I use the higher temp for pain but vaporizing dry I usually stay under 400.

I've been using my Enano at temp 7 when I use a WT. I can't remember the temp for that setting. Some folks can handle the higher settings without coughing. I can't do that. I don't like to cough that's one of the reasons why I vaporize and it's the healthly way to use cannabis. Some folks can take really big draws because they probably have larger lung capacity. We are all different as to what's comfortable and what's not.

I like experiencing good vapor taste. The higher temp tend to distort the good state of my herb. I still get medicated. Maybe you feel you get more medicated at a higher temp? I don't want destroy the good taste of my cannabis.:peace::leaf:

EDIT
I guess whatever way works for you is the right way.:)

I always used 377º but in past few months, I crank every vape I use up to full blast.
Less sitting and savoring, and full effects quicker... which has been needed.

edit:
When I had my Herbalizer, I too MOST often used it at max!

When I was using my EQ I would start at 380-390F and finish at 410-420F. With the EVO I begin at 12:00-12:30, push up to about 1:00-1:30 and finish the last hit at about 2:00, resulting in a nice, even, dark brown AVB. Taste is important to me while also getting a full-as-possible extraction of canna-goodies plus I'm never really in too much of a hurry so this seems to be the best method for me.

On my EVO and Solo I use max temp about half of the times. And I strongly prefer higher temps such as this through a waterpiece.
I avoid high temps before evening so I don't get couch-locked during the day.

When I was using my old Iolite I couldn't set the temp and I often wanted it to go higher.
When I had my EQ I used it near max (especially after modding it when the bowl was further from the heater), but max on EQ can easily combust, so I avoided that.

So if the max setting on a vape doesn't combust and it's not too early, I vape at max often.
Also I almost never vape under noon on my EVO and under 5 on my Solo.

Max temp discussion got me thinking about minimum temp sessions.
I usually start in the mid temps---390ish on Herbie.

Did a session starting way low. 300, 325---taste but ?? effect
350 375-- heady action going on there............. big ass cloud at 375????

I have owned an arizer solo and arizer air, and have tried max temp on both. It is too high for me, not much in the way of good taste - starts tasting like dry paper or something/cellulose.

Usually I will go up to a 6 max on Solo, and the 4th step for the Air. I usually only go up to 4 on the Air, and 5 on Solo, unless I am being a miser and don't want to do another load, then I will step it up again. but it seems like I don't get any additional positive effect, even when I get a lot of vapor at these temps.

I have saved it and get very little if anything from this material later. Seems most the effect is vaped off at 4-5 on Solo and 3-4 on the Air once it stops producing visible vapor. Bumping it back up can produce more vapor for me, but it doesn't rally do anything. I like the temperature steps on the air, works well for me.

it's fun to bump them up super high every once in a while to get a couple of giant hits though. :)

So basiclly 400 degrees is my cutoff, generally speaking, and I like around 370-390.

I set the herbalAire to 375 and start sipping before it's fully heated. 400 is maximum but ABV gets dark brown without going there.

Edit: It would probably be wise to experiment more with lower temps but so far have been lazy. My loss, I suspect. :sherlock:

It all depends, for me. Sometimes I like lighter effects, especially if treating my anxiety, but other times it can be fun to blast a fresh load at max temp...doing so on my volcano or SSV is like a train hitting me :) I do feel like there's a bit too much flavor loss at higher temps (the more subtle and delicious tastes that I tend to prefer get occluded).

Threads like this one always give me pause to consider just how awesome vaporizers are, for me at least, as an entire world of therapeutic and recreational use lays at our fingers, all accessible within the flick of a dial or press of a button. It's a good time to be a vaper, my excitement only grows considering where the future will take us!

If I'm looking for max buzz I start using max temp on a new Solo stem. Start at a 'solid 7' and take a hit, drop to 6, take a hit, drop to 5, take a hit, drop to 4, take last session hit. I feel like this heat soaks early and allows me to continue a drop to each level with more heat soaking than usual. So my aim is for a mid-level overall body buzz but with a little more head affect.

I'll also go 'solid 7' when the lower temps on a used stem aren't producing anymore to make sure I've got all I'm gonna get till ABV processing.

I find that the lower temps give me a longer sweeter tasting run and a more heady type of buzz.

Lately my wife has been experimenting with Solo stem/bowls at level 7 that have been more than half used up at lower temps to derail her migraines. We tried something similar at the lower temps without success. Aside from the fact it didn't do anything for her she doesn't like the more head buzz affects when we're having company so she wouldn't be interested if it got her 'noticeably' high even in the throws of a full blown migrane. The half used stems hitting at level 7 don't get her as much of a head buzz but do cause a sort of physical body numbing that dulls her migraines and in one case actually caused it to stop. I'm not sure this isn't, excuse the pun, just in her head but it has worked 2 out of 2 times so far and I'm happy for her and grateful for the potential.

I vape more often than not at high temps.....killing an Underdog stem in 3/4 hits running it at like 13.3/13.5.

Vape my Mighty at 380, end up at like 395.

Vape the Herbalaire at 370.

Vape the Lotus to near combustion temps, a bit too near LOL seeing as how I accidentally combust still occasionally.

The higher temps give me a more full bodied high typically, so that's why I use them. And time. Plus, it doesn't really harm my throat so no harm no foul, but sometimes if my throats a bit scratchy or I'm sick I'll turn the temp down. Or if I'm in the mood to vape the same bowl for a while.
