Day 3 and still going strong. The backend gets hot but as long as it keeps going I couldn't care
less, this vape is just so incredibly good in everything that you forget about any negatives.
This thing blows a few big players in the vape world right out of the water.
It's the Tesla among vaporizers, it would also score 103/100 altough it even has its flaws
In stead of getting used to the speed, it amazes me more and more every time, so freaking fast!
Today I was playing around with very small loads, -0.05 grams, and I fucking forgot how little
I loaded because it kept going and going.
By the way, I bet it even works great with 0.01 gram loads. (note to self : try later)
Just try not to loose the silicone mouthpiece, it comes of very easily and I don't think that
I could use the grasshopper without it.
I think my grasshopper could work even better but I think someting happened in customs or the
people at grasshopper forgot it, but I don't have a screen in the mouthpiece, so I have a
DIY solution with a domed screen, but a big part of the herb comes up to the tip of the
mouthpiece. Funny thing is, I still get very even abv.

I just gave it a quick try and it gave me a good 4 draws with pretty decent vapor on 4 and 4.5
I think I could have gotten 1 or two draws more out of it at least.

You adventuresome with alternate herbs in the bowl ... maybe a sprig of rosemary or pinch of mint in the mix for a refrshing hitbit of variety?

A few quick tips and tricks :
For those who have a PNWT, it's a match made in heaven with the grasshopper !
Using cotton didn't work all that well for me, it restricts the draw too much.
If you remove the silicone mp, the grasshopper mouthpiece will cool down faster.
I think I discovered that there is more missing in my mouthpiece, 1) the screen and
2) the nose cone that goes in the tip to reduce heat transfer. This is probably why I
can't have one full draw without the silicon guard. Thus it can only get better...

It's so awesome hearing so many people have their Grasshoppers and are having the same experience I have with respect to flavor and efficency! I fucking iatoadaso!
I was wondering what I would do with two when my color Ti finally arrives but as much as you can share one GH with a group of people I am looking forward to having the second for that purpose, the scenario I'm thinking of is like at a card or board game table so everyone can just treat themself at their own pace without having to interupt the game for a session.

great observations - after having had the hopper for a week, the honeymoon effect has worn off a bit and my sensitivity to these faults has increased. i am still incredibly impressed by what this device is capable of, but those looking for a unicorn will still find significant drawbacks to take issue with.
the big weakness of the design -- no surprise here -- is heat. the little heater in this thing is so powerful and capable of generating so much heat that containing it and tempering it is very difficult.
my hopper definitely has the backend problem where parts of it get uncomfortably hot at certain points during the vaping process. if you are holding it in just the right part of the backend it will get hot enough that you will pull your hand away in a reflex, although not hot enough to actually burn you. since some are reporting that they don't have this problem, it sounds like this can be considered a defect, but i can see why it is so hard to avoid. personally i'm going to keep my unit as is for now and see how it develops at GHL (clearly it is still an issue given that they just shipped this unit). eventually i will ask for a replacement if it seems like they really got it figured it out.
another problem area is the mouthpiece. after a lot of use (i.e. 6-10 hard hits at temp 4-5 without a lot of cooldown time in between) the mouthpiece will get very hot to the point where you can't really use it without the silicone mouthpiece. and even at lower temperatures, a long hit will make the tip uncomfortably hot. i've found myself recommending to everyone that tries it that they should put their lips past the tip on the conical section.
and lastly the vapor itself -- as i said in my previous post, it's not as hot and harsh as the pax, but it is certainly warmer than the crafty or the ascent. if you hit this a lot then you may find the warmer vapor gets uncomfortable. it's only a nuisance for me but others may be more sensitive to it.
but as others have said, even with the heat drawbacks, the capability of this device as a powerful one hitter has enabled me to vape in places and at times that were not previously practical. so i am more than happy to tolerate the heat issues given the new uses this device has opened up. one day if they completely address all the heat problems, even better, i'll upgrade to the newer model. but personally i wouldn't wait now; the benefits of this gen1 device are just too great to pass up.

It's really bad if your GH is missing parts! That sounds to me like a sign that they're not doing enough quality control during or after assembly.

I think that it should be easy to load the GH if you pre grind your herb and carry it in a tube like those you get with joints. That's how I load all my other vaporizers.How are you going to load that? Another loading tool?

I've tried the dude tubes for pre-ground material. After transport all that static builds up and the keif sticks to the sides. Next time out I had a glass test tube with screw on lid and everything cleanly emptied. I would prefer a smaller one and I believe @Vape Dr. has a link somewhere in another forum for smaller ones.

Ill need a case for the GH. A case with a belt clip for the case. Ill also get a bookbag for the belt clipped case. Ill also need something for my material too. A grinder in a case double padded air tight with a scoop in another case. All of that in a case.....wait where the hell did I put my GH.

Already have a loading funnel figured out, first prototype was a good start (it actually threaded onto the grasshopper's oven threads!). Now I'm making a 150-micron adjustment to the ID and printing/shipping another funnel this week to one of my beta-testers. I'll have it posted to my store before the end of this month. Anyone here with a grasshopper and a photo booth willing to take some photos for my store listings
I've got a whole slew of accessories planned for the Grasshopper, some of them are closer to completion than others, but believe me this is one of my higher-priority vapes. I'm anxiously awaiting my November shipment. But I've already started working with several hopper owners on my various inventions.

Do pepper grinders generally provide a decent result with herb?
If they do then this looks ideal, I wouldn't even mind if I had to pre grind.
$25 is a tolerable price too.
It might work well for my Inhalater too.

Just brainstorming ideas with others. I was imagining little nuggets may work. But then I realized it also depends on the moisture level of the material and how the gears can easily gum up if you have icky sticky. But with drier bud it may be a solution to some.
