Bad news for backers/ customers from germany.
Today I was at the customs office to get my grasshopper that has been shipped 2 weeks ago. They told me that it can't be importet to germany because of a missing CE-certification and user manual in german.
I could cry.

Mannnnn that sux big time!! I hope GHL can make it right for you. Have you sent an email to Trevor informing him of what has happened?

Edit I like the solo but the draw is to restricted for me to use by itself. I don't notice it so much through a bong. I hope the hopper isn't as restricted as the solo

Worst case scénario. If you need it, just get it sent to Belgium and I'll forward it.

Gotta be from people who never owned a pure convection portable before right? :uhh:

I mean I remember the honeymoon, but damn am I glad to have moved on personally :D

:2c::worms:

Although what u say is true bro, if you use it conventionally, it can also be used in full convection mode and the taste is from another planet (paired with vapor lungs and removing the Solo after each filling of the bottle):2c: I doubt I would ever buy it again though, not with the newer vapes in the horizon (Grasshopper, Zion, RBT 18mm)!

Yes, sent them a mail, but no answer yet.
That Moment when i had it in my hands for five seconds... I need a new vape. Now!

@Gregori: Thanks, but I think its too late. Customs told me that they will do some further research and inform me in 2-3 weeks. But without that certification I think they will destroy it.

That are really bad news, I'm also from germany. Hopefully GHL will fix this importing problem asap.
This german reddit user had good luck, he just received a hopper.

Some time ago, a user on reddit asked about the CE certificate. Trevor replied to an email:
"Hi,
They will have the CE mark.
Best,
Trevor"

Weird that Trevor said they will have the CE mark, but actually they don't...

I would stop being Mr nice guy kick them in the balls take hopper and leave.
But on a serious note that's horrible much worse than any shit scenario i can think of while purchasing a vaporizer.

I never got how they can not only NOT deliver it to your door, But demand you guy's in other countries pay more upon arrival to them and you come get it, Then on top of that you get cases like this you go play fetch with them and they say nope you can't have it. I got my Arizer air direct from Arizer and had no problems.

I thought they would be convection because the stems looked so similar to the E-nano, It's deff more conduction than anything, So yeah i'm guessing there is just a bit of confusion going on here.

I am expecting the Hopper to be more like the Nano or Esv like i wanted the Solo and Air to be.

I had the hopper in my hands, there was no CE-label

That's just insane rite there. :goon: I gotta watch what i say to not offend anyone on this one. I really hope you get it worked out and they don't murder a poor Hopper, That's another thing i don't get wouldn't the proper thing to do if everything don't check out be to return to sender? If they take it and do unspeakable things to it that's just theft in my book.

What is "Full convection mode". As far as I know anything that can be done to effect the conduction qualities directly effects the vapor in a bad way because there just isnt enough power there with out using the conduction.

Sure there is enough power, it's just that our lungs don't have the capacity to use the Solo like that and our throats can't handle such long draws. Vapor lungs can however. Click on Vapor Lung in my signature and enjoy the vids… By the way a vapor lung would be the tits with the Hopper!!!

EDIT: here ya go…

Yeah @natural farmer, except it's still the sessioning that kills it for me, even with packing tricks and slow draws (I mean obv lungs a whole nother thing lol like a bag vape), and through bubblers even harder to tell for sure... But any on demand manual instant pure convection technique driven vape I've used has been just on another level vapor quality wise, in every measure compared to a session unit imo.

GH is so interesting, bc it seeks to make that manual pure convection more automatic and systematic, same experience for every user (and obv the form factor), though Zion has been the most versatile I've used to date

Hey, I just received mine in Berlin yesterday. The tracking page said it was being cleared in German customs (that took about 5-6 days) then the status changed to delivered. The next day I received a mail from the zollamt (customs office) that my package is waiting there. I went there with the letter and also had to show a receipt for the vape, which I didn't have but luckily for me they a PC there just for that...
Ended up paying 19% tax or whatever, which amounted to 20 euros and some change. Totally worth it.

I had my reservations with the grasshopper being a good pure convection "session" vape especially with the small battery (not sure why they aren't using lithium polymer batteries).

The grasshopper will have to prove itself to be better than the Elevape to me.
The Elevape is the best portable convection "session" vape I have come across so far IMHO (I'm still waiting for the zion to arrive so the jury is still out on that one but I have high hopes, even though it's not exactly "portable") and the firefly is only good for 4 good draws for me.

Hopefully the grasshopper team will get it together and deliver what they claimed.

Another one bites the dust:

Hello Guys, my name is Franz and I´m from Germany. I received my Hopper yesterday and I was very exited. The first 12 hours it worked great and I loved it!

But now I have a huge problem. The Grasshopper won't heat up any more. The blue and red LEDs are flashing constantly when I turn the Hopper on. Even when I connect the charger red and blue LED's are flickering fast. The charger was connected the whole night and same problem in the morning. Anyone has the same experiences? I´m one of the very first backers and so dissapointed now. Please help...

Imo the Grasshopper is waaaaaaaay better then the ESV. More pocket friendly, doesn't combust or over cook the herbs, no stirring needed, much bigger and more consistent hits, don't need to mess with the coil just to get it kind of working, don't have to take apart and clean the Gh constantly like the ESV. Battery life isn't as good as esv but you can just pop a new battery in the GH.

Have to agree with @gosaints420 big time. I had to sent back my second ESV(signature's in need of a Grasshopper update.)
GH is easier to load, to clean(almost not necessary to clean), more pocketable, has a user replaceable battery, don't quite remember but I believe the GH warranty is better than the ESVs, and the GH provides clouds I never achieved with either of my ESVs. My only disagreement with gosaints420 is the charge on my GH lasts longer than the charge on my ESV.
Although I'd looked forward to revisiting the ESV in the future, the Grasshopper does just what I wanted out of the ESV, and more, for a significantly lower cost.

We can agree to disagree. All I know is I have been thoroughly enjoying my Elevape for over a year. I don't for see a grasshopper in my life until next year, that is if they are still around.
just my :2c:

***EDIT IN***
The Elevape has a lifetime warranty and is built in the USA. Hard to beat that.

After playing a bit with the hopper, I must say I am still blown away.
There are a few things people will go crazy about when they get mentioned but
it just seems none of them matter when it's working.
So, what i've found :

If you still can, order a few extra batteries. I can get about 2 ovens out of 1 battery.
I start on 3 and work my way up to 5. Higher temps use much much more of the battery.
But...the batteries charge pretty fast and using it while charging is no problem.
I have 3 batteries but with a bit of smart use, I can get by with only one battery.
(load it between sessions etc)

The hopper is full convection, for the first draw. If you keep going, you'll get conduction heating.
If you want full convection, just wait between draws so the hopper doesn't get too hot.

I noticed my backend getting hot too, but only for very brief moments, while the core is heating
up, after that, it goes down. The tip also gets hot. Really hot, but with the mouth piece it's fine.

I find a good mflb trench more than enough and if you fill it loose, it will be filled to the top with
this amount.

This vape is not a real session vape, it works better as a one (or 2 or 3) hitter. If you go to the
highest temp, you can't vape for too long or it will overheat and give you the "wait" light.
I don't see this as a flaw, but as one of the characteristics of a one hitter.

I loved the elevape as an instant convection vape, but it gets blown away in almost every possible way except battery life, but those are replaceable in the grasshopper.

The thing with the grasshopper is, it hits so fast so hard, you don't need to honk on it for
half an hour, just a quick rip and you're good to go.

I know the grasshopper is a new vape. But with the constant price increases and all the issues everyone is having. I dont think I will get one. Love the design and concept but too many issues. Yeah I know its a new comer but come on, we are not your test subjects.

Constant price increases? They've increased the price once since they started pre-orders and that was just recently.

I don't consider the jump from backer to pre-order a price increase because that was to be expected. The price was initially so low so that people would help fund them. That is the nature of crowd funding.
