Hello,
I feel confused on this "oven/heater" differences between Solo and Air.
So, in the end will ALL kind of stems be interchangeable and fit both models? Can someone confirm this?

I have some "Air" (small) glass stems and they fit perfectly in both my Solos, but there's a friend of mine insisting on "the air stems do not fit the solo and vice versa".

BTW, the glass tubes I've been loving and using most with the Solo are the short straight ones, (not the plastic tip). Top pick for me.

They sure do with me, across a couple of Airs, several Solos and maybe a dozen total stems? Perhaps telling is the fact that the first Airs came with straight Solo stems? That is two plastic topped stems in the slots in the packing and a straight Solo stem in the bundle with the case.

You can tell the tooling change used to make the stems (Air and Solo) by the shape (and roundness) of the bowls. I was so taken by the Air I bought one for the Brother in Law's Christmas present, it was the first short all glass stem reported here? Up until then Arizer shipped Solo stems with Air so it seems reasonable to assume they thought they'd fit?

I think the plastic topped Air stems are great with Solo, and recommend them as a 'poor man's GonG adapter'. Glad you like the short glass one in Solo, I did for a while, but went back to the stock straight stem for the most part.

Not sure what to say to/about your friend........except perhaps 'please show me'?

Any stems I got from Arizer fit both.

The only problems I have are with the PVHES stuff. I have a turbo gong that barely goes into the solo, putting it in the air would be its final use.

I haven't had any problems with interchanging Solo stems with my Air. I'm not sure what the difficulty is? I know some think Solo stems are too tight for their Air vaporizers. I always make sure that my Air is hot when I insert the stems, that helps with any too snug of a feel. I've tried probably 7 or 8 stems. I have some Air stems in a different case. I have quite a few Solo stems. This doesn't include my Nano stems. My case of VAS isn't too out of control.:lol:

At one time I had 6 GonG's and broke every last one of them. However I have this straight PHVES stem with a CHILLUM TIP that I've had for about 4 years that I haven't broke?

I'm going to make a couple of water adapters out of stainless steel for the SOLO.

I don't know where this comment is best suited?
My usual dispensary labeled GSC as a INDICA?

So I went with another that had GSC as a HYBRID!
To be honest the taste is amazing not to mention the effect!

Please Brother's and Sister's do not use a dispensary that mislabels their strains!

Yeah, we definitely benefited from great North East Kingdom strains that were available by the early eighties. They were easily as good as todays high THC strains (but priced for a lot more than our $20 lids)...

Hash up here in Montreal was always really good, probably due to the fact that we`re a major international seaport with lots of hash coming in by sea from all over the world.

Friends say they've "heard" that today's pot is much stronger than when they were using. It's true that when we bought $100 lbs the quality was a bit less but not so with smaller amounts. At least I don't get higher now than back then. I quit for many years because of coughing. Finding the air/solo has let me start again.

Hey everyone I need your help...

I recently bought a second-hand Solo from a friend but after a couple days it started acting up a bit and today it stopped working at all. Whenever I try to turn it on or charge it, it turns itself off within 15 seconds. When I'm not using it the blue idle light flashes irregularly ("blue light of death"). I've already tried resetting it manually by plugging the charger in, holding the 2 buttons for 4 seconds and removing the charger again after 10 seconds. When that didn't help I decided to open it up using this (https://www.reddit.com/r/vaporents/comments/1zvimo/arizer_solo_blue_light_of_death/) guide. Whilst I was taking the top heating unit apart I noticed that the blue light went out a couple times so I'm pretty sure the problem has to do with that.

In the aforementioned guide and a disassembly video (
) they talk about being able to take the heating element apart from the temperature sensor and metal bowl but mine are stuck together with some kind of white stuff:

Do any of you know what this white stuff could be? Its kinda of brittle and I think it could be oxidation but it could also be some kind of glue. Could this be why it has stopped working? Can I remove it?

TL;DR: What is the white stuff in the images? Can it be the cause of the 'blue light of death" and can I remove it?

P.S. The guy in this post (http://forum.grasscity.com/vaporize...o-not-heating-up-shuts-off-automatically.html) removed a similar kind of residue and that fixed it apparently.

Furnace cement. I seriously doubt that's the trouble, but for sure you've just blown the warranty with some BS advice from a lesser Forum?

I admit I only had 'stomach' for watching the first couple of minutes of the video. Seeing the trashing he's done on the base doesn't inspire me with his skills. Then opining 'the earlier model had a metal base I think' was enough to get me to stop any interest in his advice (since we all know the base is exactly the same for both models).

Did he warn you you void the warranty or what precautions you should take so you don't destroy your base plate with a heavy hand on the screwdriver? Don't you think he should have? I do. Not to be unkind but I make the chap more a clown than an expert you should seek advice from.

FWIW I have no idea at all what 'the blue light of death' has to do with Solo (never heard the term here, it's from Windows NT isn't it????). IMO what you described sounds mostly like a bad battery to me, I'd have started there........

@OF, the vaporizer was already out of warranty but I know that opening stuff usually voids the warranty. Regarding the video and the other post... when scouring the internet for solutions to a strange problem I'll take anything on with both hands. These posts were the only things I could find that described the same problem as I had and provided a fix for it. Naturally I'm no expert so I can hardly tell if what he's doing is any good but it was better than nothing, obviously.

Regarding the term 'blue light of death', AFAIK its just a play on the 'red ring of death' from the xbox. Would a broken battery explain the weird behaviour of the blue light when I was handling the wires leading to the heating element?

@CarolKing He never had any problems with it and he hadn't used it for over a year as he stopped smoking/vaping weed. I got it for €85,- which is about $95.

@ataxian Do you know where I can find these 2200 x 2 1860 batteries? I live in The Netherlands.

Finally, today i recieved the Solo for 40 Bucks.
The guy i bought from told me that it just loads in some positions, so i opened it up to look if a solder connection is broken. Everything ok on the board, so i putted everything together.

I let the thing change for about 7 hours, the LED "charging" was red and IDLE was blue all the time. It also beeped when i put the charger connector in.

Looked fine, but:

even after 7 hours of loading i cant switch this b*tch on. I pressed up and down for seconds, short, and so on. Nothing. Dead after unplugging,
Even when plugged in and charging, no chance to get it running. There are just the blue IDLE led and the red Charging led...

I can select if the unit is going to beep or not while charging (presssing DOWN for 2 sec), but thats all i can do with my solo ^^

So the guy i bought it from was an ass and lied to me. >_>


Wise guys from the board, do you have any idea?
I checked for hours now different boards and googled it up a hundred times.... but no chance to find any idea!

You using the right Solo power supply to charge?
how did the battery look when you opened it?
And how's the wires going to the heater
Should be four of them if one is off the Solo won't turn on.

To turn on press and hold both buttons,
when the blue light flashes ON let go of buttons,
should give battery level
(if it's 4 then the first 4 lights would be lit)
then you should be able to press button to select temp.
