yeah i know i'm getting OLD .... i have found some relief in chewing gum.. which i hate to do.. i was using that and lemon and honey to get me through a session(studio session) and i found it helped with GERD i know the zap didn't cause it i was just bummed about not being able to use it funny thing is i could smoke just fine although it tasted like shit.

Funny, I had a small piece of gum the other day(not even a stick, the small pieces int he foil) and it was free of artificial sweeteners. But shortly after chewing it and spitting it out i got a terrible flare up and my stomach was burning. No gum for me, i can live with that.

Im happy the Prilosec works so well for you Mom, I have been on and off of a few different acid reducing drugs like that(including that one you take, and a couple prescription even :uhoh:) now but it just doesnt provide relief. And going off of them was the worst! I have also read some about prilosec weakening the bones because it somehow depletes them of calcium. Besides, I dont want to have to rely on a pill for every ill, I am too young for that(you know a lady can never tell ;) but i am of college age) plus I just watched Death by Medicine, By Gary Null.

Good to know itll be good ole Rick doing all the zaps now! I was just chatting with a friend online, hes still smoking from a nearly 2 foot glass tube, but is interested in a new Zap!

Nycdeisel,
yeah i heard gum can trigger it thats why i thought that was weird i am on Priolosec too but only OTC not prescribed. i hate taking pills, as well i am vastly approaching 40 so i guess i change in diet lifestyle is a must i will probably go vegetarian but little critters taste so good....

I love it!
Wait til you get to try vastly approaching 70!
Right on NYC! We already have the special wood turning room planned and in progress for super sawdust and chip removal. That will keep the rest of my shop relatively dust free. I got spoiled over the last few months with no sawdust in the shop, especially from sanding, so we want to keep it that way.
Speaking of sanding, all the units I will be turning also get a special hand job from me with 400 grit sandpaper. That is one reason I am keeping the Zaps smooth with no edges or turned lines, they are much easier to hand sand. Not much sanding is needed, just a little extra TLC from Zapman.

Before After

Looks like my ex has lost some weight, and a little height too! Like I said Rick, she's hotter than ever! I'm sure she'll make some lucky person very happy. Miss Elm will be here tomorrow and as much as I'd like to bring my Black Beauty back I can't afford two ladies right now. "If you love something set it free... etc." I'll be hitting the post office early tomorrow to try and catch my new Zap before she has to take another ride in a cold mail truck!!
Please don't let her past keep you from taking that Black Beauty home. She's traveled cross country twice and she was treated gently all her life, though Rick may have been a little rough with her when he got her back!! LOL
CHEERS ALL!

edit: photos resizing... almost got it right... GOT IT

Wow, I run out of shit to vape and things get wild in here......coincidence????........Probably, lol.

@Rick- Sad to see Mr. B go. Please thank him for us, as I'm sure we all appreciate his contributions. Congrats on the next chapter of the journey though. Two questions pop up immediately. 1) The "regular" size zap will still exist (like my N31 and J1)? I like the size of them and do not think I would want smaller. 2) Since you brought it up (approaching 70), the baton will be passed on I assume? Purely selfish pondering, as I like knowing zaps will always be a part of my life from here on out. -

I've seen multiple inquiries into the difference between the UD and the CRZ, so I wanted to throw my humble opinion in (without the shitstorm that has previously followed comparisons). I am reciting from memory, so if I fuck anything up, please feel free to correct.

I remember it being mentioned that the UD uses the same resistor as the CRZ. I do not understand how it (UD) could be "hotter"? My black locust with the 12v DC, is putting out ABV comparable to the HA I had. I'm talking fucking dark. (I will post pics when I can).

If the guts are very similiar (temp wise), the differences I see are as follows:
The CRZ uses a single piece of wood, whereas the UD uses glued pieces (at least on some models if not all).
The CRZ has 4 intake holes. The UD has at least 8 (maybe more?). This provides probably better airflow. Increased airflow has pros and cons.
The CRZ uses "stems", and the UD uses silicone with a screen. I'm pretty sure I can use a piece of silicone and a screen with the CRZ and negate any "hotter" results that are reported.
The CRZ is ceramic insulated. The UD uses an "air gap internal to the core" as insulation.
And of course, the price point.

Recited from memory, so I may be off. Dave from UD seems like a great guy, and competition is always good for both manufacture and the consumer. The UD is a great product (never tried, but definitely my 2nd choice), and there are room for both and many more in this market. I just see a lot of questions asking about differences in here and many other threads (including the purple one). This might be better placed in a neutral thread, but I'm not going to be that "asshole" without having both in front of me. It's just this forum is where everybody comes to for info, and evrybody seems to pussyfoot around the differences. I thought this might help those trying to decide. Please, no shitstorming for my observations. Correct me if I'm wrong, but start a thread if you want to go deeper than any mistakes I may have made in trying to point out factual differences.

Fuck, I need that kush more than I thought!!!!!!

Magic9,

Thank you and no idea about the stems. I'd think it would be possible, but like Deez said, Vito is definitely the man for that question.

Man, I only took the OTC prilosec as well. not good stuff. and whos that made by? Pfizer? No, No. its Proctor and Gamble.Even worse. Fuck them!!! stores are dominated by P&G products, not to mention all of their animal "testing". Im glad im supporting them less and less. Gonna throw out the Bounty paper towels soon.

Sounds good Rick! All that dust would be no good glad you got it covered ;)

Oh and I also prefer the ones without lines, nice n smooth... :brow: (plus it makes it easier for you to give them hand jobs, Rick  :p )

No fear, magic 9! I got the kush right here!

LMAO, not just hand jobs, but "special" hand jobs at that!!!! And I'm glad somebody has that kush, because I'm looking at Thursday of Friday. Unless, of course, you happen to be heading towards the Windy City, lol.

Hey Rick! So I just noticed that my 12V AC power adapter is on the fritz. Some days when I come home, I touch the zap and it's cold, other days it's warm. Sometimes I've noticed it seems to stop heating midway through a sesh. So it seems the connection is going bad.

Big bummer because I just received my Tite kit and some GonG stems.

I was thinking about grabbing that little plug set you have on your site but I was wondering about that new 12v DC adapter you have. I have an "original" MZ (brass stems) and even though I keep it in a beer koozie it doesn't get as hot as I'd like it to. I get light brown ABV, not the dark stuff I used to get out of my HA.

Now I know a little about DC and AC and I don't really understand how the DC adapter could deliver more heat - unless, of course, the AC adapter wasn't really delivering 12V RMS. Do you find a measurable difference between the DC and AC adapters that warrant the purchase?

Thanks again for a great product & fast shipping! I've had my MZ for over a year and I still love it. Just wish it would stay powered on :)

'Well all right' thefunkygiant, which Blind Faith album are you listening to? Always good to 'do what you like'. I 'had to cry today' when my Zap didn't arrive. I'll be swimming in a 'sea of joy' and probably in the 'presence of the lord' tomorrow. If something happens and she doesn't get here I'll go out and get so drunk that I 'can't find my way home'.

That was fun. Seriously, 'Do What You Like' is one of my favorite tunes. If you get the digitally remastered Blind Faith album there are some good bonus tracks.
I have some tentative answers to the stem questions, funny I never even tried the 3/8" UD stem with my Zap!! The UD glass stems are made for use with silicon tubing, they won't hold a screen by themselves without a mod. That said, you might be able to use some thin silicon tubing to put one of Rick's SS stem tips in the end of one but it may be too tight. I don't have a 3/8" UD glass stem, just a 1/4". I used a piece of 1/4" ID silicon tubing over a Zap stem so the stem still went into the heatport but the silicon sealed the top. It worked ok, but it was just an experiment to try and get more heat from my ex.

AC/DC? IDK, but I think my AC Zap adapter made my Zap hotter than the DC UD adapter. My multimeter might be off but I measure 12.6V volts coming from the DC and 13.7V coming from the AC. More info tomorrow... tonight I am in a zone...

CHEERS!

Great to see you turning zaps again Rick! I like the fact that you are the main man on the job again. It was a great time for zapville with Bob on board but it is your baby afterall and we know that you will keep the train a chugging! I like the smaller sized zaps a lot and the curves are nicer than the lines if you ask me!

I agreed with all of this, and was going to make a post saying the same things but you beat me to it. Only difference is that I don't like the zaps too small. I like something thicker in my hand. Soda can size is pretty perfect in my book.

Rick,

Now that you are spinning wood again, are we going to see the same kind of shine on the rz? Or will you be going back to the zap polish route?
Will you be engraving zaps on the back with wood species?

Also will we see varying designs of zaps? Namely more "Out On a limb"?

Excited to see what is next in zapville.

THC Muscle... that Sumac is a big WOW!

I know! I'm absolutely extatic.

What happened was the Cedar I had ordered developed a crack durring Rick's pre-delivery-tests so I waited around for the new batch of 'Zaps to show up.

I had just landed in an airliner today, as soon as I powered up my phone I saw the email from rick saying he puts some new babies up, I fumbled with my smart phone as fast as I could to get to aromazap.com, saw the Sumac and frantically went through the order form on my tiny little droid with crappy reception. I was litterally saying in my head " Common!... common!....load damnit, load!". I was so happy to see "Thank you for your order"! I must say its almost a rush buying zaps now a days, its like fighting a pack of wild dogs (zap lovers) to get to the good ones! By the sounds of it I was about 2min from loosing her...
