I don't get see concentrates much but when I had them in the past I used both my HydraHoneyComb and my HydraRecycler with the whip kit. I actually prefer the HydraRecycler with the whip.

I never really try to clean my whips. 7th Floor has multiple colors in multiple lengths and its cheap enough to just replace with new.

When I had my DBV what I did was cut each 7th floor whip in half. I tried some off brand whips but I kept getting a rubbery taste so I stuck with the 7th floor ones. They're $20 on their site and the head shop I go to would sell them to me for that price, even though the sticker price there was $25.

I could never keep them clean and I hated the taste it left after about 10 bowls. So I'd say I'd use it for about 25 bowls, clean it. The clean whip would be better than it was but not nearly good as new, but I'd use it again for 25 bowls then toss because I couldn't take it anymore lol. So I went through them a little too quickly and gave up on my DBV almost entirely. I still use it from time to time and it's a good backup if my Evo goes down. Point is, I HATE the whip system myself. I LOVE the HT system :)

Some of us here use this tubing. It's important to use food/medical grade (which 7th Floor is; NSF 51), and this is inexpensive enough that cut sections can just be tossed when dirty. This link is for the 5/16" ID, which is the same as stock Arizer Q; 7th Floor uses 3/8" ID.

I think Volcano would be a better choice for a party vape than HerbalAire.
The HA's crucible is about as small as ELBs and I've heard its tricky to reload because it gets HOT.
ELBs are quite easy to preload and reload, but a large bowl like Volcano's is definitely much better for crowds.
VapeXhale is good for up to 3 people and as said it's best for bong enthusiasts.
Attaching a whip to the VapeXhale can solve most of the fragility and cord issues as the vape can stay with you and only the whip going in circles.
But when you have 5+ people, the small size of ELBs starts getting frustrating. You'll need to constantly reload and everyone would be getting variable hits depending if they're starting or finishing the bowl.
Filling a large 3 meter bag out of the huge Volcano bowl solves everything for crowds. I think it cannot be beaten in this regard.
IMO only herbalizer comes close, but i don't know how fast it blows (slow fan like EQs are alos a deal breaker, nobody wants to wait 15 mins for a large bag to fill up) and it's bowl is smaller which is better for personal use but not so much for groups.
The Eq takes maybe 2-3 minutes to fill up not even. I don't where you got this info from. It's actually great for groups , you can pack allot of material in its chamber and it goes forever with a whip. I feel it's great for groups and have been using it more than my volcano. The vapexhale has been on my list for awhile , it looks great also.

I meant a large bags for groups, not the default size. Probably should've said that.
EQ's fan just isn't fast enough to satisfy larger groups.
That small bags that takes 2-3 minutes on EQ to fill will give you just 2-3 hits and Volcano could fill like two of these in one minute.

Anyway, we should get back to topic, this is neither Volcano or EQ thread.

I don't think so. Just depends on the type of experience you want from your vaporizing device ;)

I only need to take one look at the Herbalizer to know that it's not for me, but if you're finding that out through experience instead then if I were in your shoes I would have no regrets selling it... and then picking up a VXC from Stickstones for a really good price.

I've never used an Herbie! It was on my shopping list along with the Sublimator. Funny thing is I got the Evo and forgot about them. Still have both bookmarked though! @freshly baked it's like @1337Dude said which will fit your needs. I only considered the Herbie for a lazy bedside vape. The Mighty serves that purpose now. And I find I'm often to mashed from the Evo to even need to vape before bed!!

I bought the herbie and e nail right before the mighty and crafty were released. I bought the crafty, then mighty. I love them all! But... I would like the vxc for dry herbs and concentrates..which I rarely have unless I make them myself.... and I wouldn't need the e nail. Thats my logic right now anyway.

Depends on what you want. I've demo'd the errlectric side by side with the Evo before and the nail user was amazed at the tastes he was picking up on with the Evo that he didn't even know were there. So I think the Evo tastes better. I also think the Evo does flowers as well or better than anything available, and kills the concentrates, too...so it's the ultimate dual purpose vape.

Now, if you can have it all, Herbie does things no other vape can do...mainly the quick heat up times and exact temps. But it doesn't taste like the Evo. So I keep both the Evo and Herbie. Herbie for when I need it quick and Evo for all else.

95% of the time its dry herbs. Id like to have something to sub in for the mighty which is what I now have been using the herbie for. But I dont like using concentrates with herbie because I'm scared i might eventually gunk it up. The vxc looks like it puts out serious clouds too. I was a long time heavy smoker and like big hits.

The vxnail is a true dab hit, so it is nothing like what you are getting from Herbie. Herbie is slow vaping your concentrates for a nice, long, tasty session. The vxnail gives you that dab experience where you get it all in one hit.

I know its probs been discussed already, but I'm only on page 34 of this massive thread and it hasn't been mentioned yet. When changing from one plug to another (I have several cables plugged in over the house) is there a best practise for doing this? As i have noticed, if I simply turn off at evo and leave on at mains, unplug and replug elswhere I sometimes get a green flashing light for a minute or two...any ideas?

A few months in, I somehow have surprised myself with the mindblowing efficacy of the Evo. I had a longrunning habit of using the Evo on 3 to 5, pushing the weed to the limits, nearing combustion but never really reaching it, not more than once or twice. Recently I have tried lower temps--around 12:30 to 130-- and HOLY SHIT! I get endless clouds. Endless. Bowls regularly go one for 10-13 substantial rips. I have trouble getting through a half gram, which never seems like much as a consistent medical user.

The EVO will flicker green sometimes when it gets near to reaching your temp setting. If you quickly turned the EVO off/unplugged it and then plugged it into a different receptacle/turned EVO on, the EVO may have retained enough heat that when turned back on it was already close to the heat setting and consequently the green flickered until it fully reached the setting.

Just a wild guess. :2c:

Well, my bro and I have been experimenting with our new kit (Turbine), testing flower and concentrates on our Quartz. Here are our first impressions, along with questions:

- Excellent vapor quality. The all-glass airway really makes a huge difference in taste.

- Crazy efficiency from the concentrates. I'm getting much larger clouds than I was getting from my oil rig. It's hard to believe.

- Digging the quality of the hydratube. It looks fairly elegant compared to the usual glass piece. Good attention to detail during crafting (looks perfect, almost as if it was mass-manufactured). The diffusion is a lot smoother than my previous glass piece that I was using with the DBV. Hits very quietly too. I've noticed zero harshness on my throat, so I'm taking much larger hits than I was with my DBV. My favorite part about the saxophone-style is that I can watch things on my monitor or TV while taking hits, which I couldn't do with the traditional bong. One weird thing I noticed is that it whistles if I inhale too hard.

- Surprised how light the unit was. Probably due to the plastic housing and size. Could benefit from a weighted bottom in my opinion to add stability.

- I noticed our light flickers often between green, red, and even green+red simultaneously. Seems really spastic. Is that normal? For example, it will turn green to indicate it's ready, but then when I put in my nail it will turn back red. Or if we're doing flower, it will turn red for some reason when we pick it up. Or if we turn up the temperature, it flickers. Or if we hit, it will also flicker. It's not annoying and it doesn't seem the functionality is affected but I'm not sure if this is an indication of something wrong with my unit or not.

- It wouldn't be a bad idea if they included a cheap little brush to clean the ELB's with.

- I was under the impression the hydrafoot could house the vxnails. (I've seen it done) - was there a change made to prevent this from happening? I can't fit my quartz in there. I might've opted for the nail-holding wood piece if I knew that was going to be the case.

- I'm worried about the Vape Exhale logo from fading on the base of my hydra-tube. Is this something I'm going to have to be conscious about not touching if I don't want it to fade?

- I'm also worried about leaving it on too long. How long can I have it on before I should let it cool down?

At the moment, it has replaced both my DBV and oil rig on my desktop. I appreciate having the extra desk space. Easily our favorite herb and concentrate related purchase.

All this recent talk has me re-comparing the VXN to an Enail

Is the reason people are producing such great results on the VXN because the process is via convention instead of conduction??

An enail has total temp control (0-1000 degrees) And a larger surface area, so this is why i am curious

For example, it will turn green to indicate it's ready, but then when I put in my nail it will turn back red.
This is normal, when you put the nail in, it will soak up a lot of heat from the unit, so much that it will detect it, go red and start heating up again. Putting the nail in is the easiest way to steal enough heat from the unit to make it go red.

Or if we're doing flower, it will turn red for some reason when we pick it up.
This probably needs some context, all I could assume now is that it went green recently and overshoot into red.
The unit can heats up very fast by going overpowered when heating up and then it predicts that it should shut the heater down 20 seconds before it actualy hits the temp. Sometimes it predicts a little off and the temp will overshoot a little.
One way to easily reproduce this is to let the unit heat up and before it get to the temp, dial down until you find the green. You would expect it to stay green, but the unit wasn't expecting you tu turn the dial down and it's too late for it to stop heating. You would see it go to red again and then back.

Or if we hit, it will also flicker.
It is possible to bring the temp down to red with a VERY VERY hard and long hit. It's much harder to make it red this way, because air doesn't have much heat capacity and conductivity like the nail does. But it's possible.

I was under the impression the hydrafoot could house the vxnails. (I've seen it done) - was there a change made to prevent this from happening? I can't fit my quartz in there.
Every hydrafoot is different. Soem people found out than their hydrafoot happened to be able to hold them, but it never was a standard feature.
Some hydrafeet are not even hollow. Like the first one that came with my hydratube. My second one can hold a nail.

I'm worried about the Vape Exhale logo from fading on the base of my hydra-tube. Is this something I'm going to have to be conscious about not touching if I don't want it to fade?
I've got a hydrabase with the vapexhale logo and it's still complete. Doesn't seem to be fading at all. I even accidentaly scratched it a few times with my fingernails and it did nothing bad to it.

I'm also worried about leaving it on too long. How long can I have it on before I should let it cool down?
The unit should have an automatic shut-off after an hour or two. So you shouldn't worry about forgetting turning it off. And when it's not inverted, it can sit there heated up all day. But it would probably still benefit from getting turned off and cooling down at least two times a day. Maybe more if it's got the heat shield on. With than on, the bottom part with circutry can get hot after few hours.
