I have basically a hard small pebble of wand hash, thrown into the kief collector of a 4-part grinder. Right now it's been collecting all that lovely THC whilst rolling around and catching itself on it. My question is, how do I go about vaping this? Should I first do a green layer, then some wand hash, another bit of green, and end with a top layer of hash + crank up the heat? Throughout this, I fear that the bud will burn, need guru advice.

You don't need to turn the heat up very much. If your abv usually comes out chocolate to coffee colored don't turn it up at all but if it usually comes out more of a tan color you can turn it up a nudge to get some super thick hits. The sandwich effect works well ... a layer of flower then hash then another layer of flower.

Memo to self: read thread titles before responding

Haha, it's all good. I just realized how vague I wrote that last post, and I was just in another portable vape thread. Anyways, what I decided to do was break the wand hash up into little bits, much like soft cookie bits (but not as soft as brownies, as a stoner we notice these things...) of lovely dark chocolate brown hash with golden kief. I just vacuumed up the whole thing into my wand and cranked my DBV to 2.5/3 o'clock, sipped slow, and holy wow the stream of clouds you can get with this vaporizer is unbelievable with it's own wand hash. I had to put it down, so I emptied out my bowl of slightly-vaped WH into the kief collector part of my grinder. Hopefully it sticks when I shake it up a bit, then repeat the process again!!

You know, in a sea of constantly evolving vaporizers, I still look back at all the time I spent using Da Budda (my first high quality vaporizer) and it definitely wins my heart over for consistency.

I may have benched this unit in lieu of my E-nano and Lotus, but it absolutely would be the very first vape I would pull out of storage if either of those two would fail. I also supppose the facts that I never used it as a whip vape (used a smaller diameter bowl into a dry micro bong) and that it's quite modified now from it's factory condition heavily influence my bias, but I can honestly say it is right on my E-nano's ass in every single category except warm up time, Buddha wins that one hands down. I dont know about the rest of you, but I found how to get vapor 30 seconds in from turning it on (really slow breathing combined with turning the dial slowly down from full as it warmed up). What can I say other than Da Buddha is my old faithful that never disappointed and will always be a part of my collection. Glass aside, this is one durable unit that has survived a plethora of unnecessary abuse with zero hiccups.

I think giving credit where credit is due is important, so my thanks go to the 7th floor lads for making my '08 unit work just as good today as it ever did.

Definitely agree. Although lately I have preferred my Solo unit, I will always have to keep check of the battery since I'm buying a new higher-capacity one. Even once I get it installed, there's always a chance that if I'm charging it overnight per se, a storm may pass over where I live and possibly fry up the electronics of the solo.

With the Da Buddha it's different, and although I've had my unit for a little over a month, I find that there's definitely lots to learn, yet it's actually fun to learn and test ideas haha. Sometimes I rag on my DBV because it seems to burn too quick, but then I realize it's my flawed technique of filling up the wand literally half-full and cranking the heat to 1'oclock++. Using it now, at 12:30-1 with about .5cm of green in the wand but just enough to cover the screen, I can still see the milky vapor run through my vinyl tubing and it tastes fantastic.

Question for y'alls: do you ever find your wand "stuck" in the dbv heating cover? I find that mine gets really tight and stuck often, since I always turn the wand towards the right to securely fit the ground glass connection. Even at low heat like 1-2 ish, the glass seems more glued together haha, the wand and dbv.

YES I was just about to ask this exact same question! Is this because the ground glass expands as it gets hot? It is really annoying when it gets stuck and difficult to get out.

I think that if you have a relaxed grip on the wand, but grip as much as you can with a dry hand, and then slowly twist toward the right while pulling the wand out of the heating cover while you're inhaling a vapor hoot works best.

Basically, as you inhale, it should be easier to take out the wand from the heating cover because the glass slit between the wand and cover should be exposed to air very briefly, but enough to cool down what's between the ground glass connection. Therefore, the cooled down glass should be easier to take out versus when it's super hot ground glass and you're trying to yank it out to avoid burning up material.

Well... that's just my theory, at least.

edit: and I find that hotter glass tends to stick to other glass more tightly than cold/neutral glass being fitted together. Maybe something molecular related on the properties of glass? Although glass is inherently random in it's molecular structure...

That could make sense it always gets stuck when not inhaling.

There are a bunch of DBV's, (Just the unit and heater cover) on ebay right now supposedly from a storage auction. $65! Whip kit was 21.99 IIRC from Vaporseller, 100 screens like $5 on amazon. I wish I would have realized I could have had the black color at the same price, but oh well. If I really want to I'll pick up some spraypaint, heat resistant just to be safe.

I've had a DBV before and was actually searching for something a bit fancier... but I couldn't pass up the price.

I actually purchased one, came in 2-3 days. It does not come with a shim either. 7th floor has just posted them on their main website you'll need to pick one up aswell.
I also purchased a silver before the black was posted haha no biggie I do like the inverted decal on the black a lot better.

Completely forgot about the shims. Thanks for the heads up. Anyone know where to get them besides 7th floor? With shipping they're like $20, so I'd probably sooner MacGyver something, cheap though that may be.

Mine actually did come with the main shim, (cylinder,) but I've got awful hands and am having a little trouble with it. The cannabis ingestion doesn't help I'm sure. Are they just to steady the heater cover or am I going to have too much airflow if I leave it off? I bought my last Da Buddha used so it was already set up. Thanks all.

Now I'm just waiting for the whip!

I think that I stumbled upon a technique that many of you guys probably already use consciously/subconsciously or not, but I find that if you are looking straight down into your bowl you should see your greens evenly spread out which is the normal part. However, once you slide the loaded wand into the DBV, the greens will slide in a downward angle towards the end of the wand if you try to tap and fit it in. Therefore, some parts will be left unvaporized evenly because there is definitely material hidden underneath how the greens are angled toward the end of the glass. So I think you should definitely give the wand a slight twist to the right, and a small shake with the wrist so that the top buds are shaken off, exposing newer unvaped material underneath ripe for vaporization delight.

Haha, irony at its finest.

My very best friend, had a DBV that he only used 5 times, I recently tried to talk him into trying it again, with me " holding his hand " a bit.

He is a joint and dab guy, and I just couldn't convince him to dust her off and try it again.

Although, I am a bit disappointed that he never tried again, this turned out to be a fantastic deal for myself...

I got myself a barely used DBV for free .

Now .. I have one with the Aroma-Therapy Dish out in the living room, and my other sits in my preferred spot; next to my easy Chair (AKA MY High Chair)aside my bed.

This thing has changed my life...seriously.

I put a door stopper underneath each back side of my unit, and it is now identical to the SSV's angle.
This has ultimately allowed me to not tamp my herb down , so the herb is "loose" and I get a perfect even roast with very dense vapor.

Man, the very first session with my first DBV.... My wand got stuck, and I was already high AF...So, I just waited til morning, and .. Damn, that thing was jammed in, I thought for sure I'd break the glass, but after a lot of finagling she finally let go.

I happen to Vape Hash every night, and Whoa!!!!

I prefer a thicker "green screen", then Hash, and cover the hash with a thinner layer of herb.. I start at 12:30 for my first three draws, then bump it to 2 o'clock to finish, making a short stop at 1-1:30 for the 4th and 5th draws.

Mehhh, I meant to quote everyone that recently posted but I'm really high.

350mg Caramel edibles, :freak: :haw:..

I knew I was going to enjoy my proverbial "dive into vapor" , but as each session passes, I learn a little something every time I use it, in turn creating a very strong love for this Vape.

Anytime I see the question...
"Recommendations for a Vape for 200$ or less?"

DBV always comes to mind.

Thanks again to the Da Buddha Club and to the folks at 7th Floor

:peace:

Hello VFTT ...

So, do you have the version where the heater cover is not secured with the "Retention Clip"?, I highly recommend a simple upgrade, I can't even imagine what I'd do, if I had to fiddle with the shims (Severe Arthritis & Super shaky due to muscle spasms),

Here is a video from 7th floor..

Hope this helps my friend

No retention clip unfortunately, these units must be really old NOS. Thanks for the suggestion! Right now I'm sans shims and it's working fine... but obviously the heater cover is a bit wobbly.
