I have to say I am really REALLY excited to try this out. I was concerned about the bowl behavior and airflow in the 14mm, and using 18mm instead is a way better choice, it seems to me. I thought RBT had gone 14mm due to a lack of available space, but if nothing prohibits 18 I think it makes much more sense. :)
I may just be an extremely vocal minority, but providing the ability to swap your personalized mouthpiece between all your RBT devices while simultaneously drastically improving performance of the device seems like a no brainer. I am pleased with parts compatibility (batteries, glass) and sharing (Zion button and heater tech) across the whole line.
No minority, I suspect. How does it feel to be mainstream? :)

Not sure I like being mainstream, but I could get used to getting what I want! Which, btw is the exact opposite experience I've had with previous herb vapes.

All true... First, thanks to the Beta team for the insane amount of work that they are doing behind the scenes as it has lead to this amazing advancement in the single battery manual unit.

The 14 mm glass is flow restrictive and load limiting. In comparison to the 18 mm it is actually quiet disappointing as compared to the Zion as noted by @pakalolo attested... You know he has written papers on convection right?

This change will not increase the size of the unit as we recessed the 14 mm and will not recess the 18 mm to make up the 4 mm difference. We have also tested an ultra short stem and due to the heaters cool vapor it isn't hot or harsh, in fact due to the more uniform vaporization / ABV the 18 mm actually is less harsh than the 14 mm.

Part of the signature of RBT is the insane power and wide open flow path and the 14 mm is just to small to satisfy the Mantra of "desktop power in the palm of your hand"

With the generous flow path comes better temperature control such that it is just a matter of how long you hold th button down ... Minimal pulsing and stirring are great attributes of the bigger glass.

Although not tuned to run like the TOD you will be able to buy a TOD kit that will contain a spacer required to run two 18350's nearly doubling the available power... That one is for you HD and any of our customers that want to grip it and rip it TOD style.

This seems like a win/win situation but if any of our pre-orders are not happy with this change of direction we offer a full refund.

If you have been around he RBT threads at all you know that the only guarantee is rapid change so if you jump in on the the pre-order for either of the manual units hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

Awesome the less the draw is restricted the better. I hate feeling like I'm going to suck my brains out trying to take a hit. Love the dual 18350 mod a beast in a tiny package.

Nice nice.

Quick heads up from the beta team, as of now RBT is switching this 14mm manual single battery mini to an 18mm manual single battery mini to maintain the superior wide open airflow that Zion OG and dual battery manual TOD enjoy, also keeps everything standard size without sacrificing stealth (short stems still coming, along with some other nifty ideas...)

So just like Zion, but set to one voltage so you control temp by length if preheat or instant, feathering or pulsing trigger, and ofcourse with your draw, now that airflow will be more open & controllable (also may allow for a dual 18350 TOD hack, unleashing the beast in the Mini...)

More to come soon
I consider this to be a very exciting and positive change. Opening airflow and improving the bowl size without hurting stealth is amazing . Its a good thing I have ordered the Zion, because otherwise I would be way too excited for this and the TOD.:clap::tup:

I am also in this vocal minority that considers the change not only a good one but a fucking far out one, man. Missed opportunity at the Hard Working Americans show this week, but I have many scheduled concerts to attend in the coming months. Mucho opportunities upcoming for some serious beta testing.

dont wanna crash the suspense party, just wanted to throw something in for the future regulated 18650 what I'd love to see (and hopefully others guys as well) - since I vape different herbs (sage, thyme, peppermint, spearmint, eucalyptus .. Etc.) who all have their own vape temps... And some are not that tolerant: A temp. display (love analog, but guess digital is more practical..). I think versatility would be supported with this even more, cause it really "allows" you to try out and use different herbs easily without doubting if one has fired too much or less.

Have a good day everyone

I think you are missing the point and idea behind this particular model dude. It's unregulated and simple, 100% analogic. Without any kind of regulation a temperature display would be a gadget at most.

I know RBT has plans for going digital in the future but this will lilkely be for other products. Let's leave this one at its simplest without clutter.

Dude, I'm not talking about this first model. It's about a regulated one in the future... I thought we should throw in in our ideas - instead of criticising other ones. N

When I have time I will detail the BRT product roadmap but there will be a voltage controlled device in the future so keep the ideas coming... #1rule of brainstorming is no criticism... Please all let everyone's ideas flow and build on them don't tear them down. As Pak said Karma and I will sort out what we deem usable.

No offense. Let's stay nice.
Cheers! :)

@Krazzykid these stems are very versatile. And you can load a very small amount and still have this thing working great. I think Shits showed a pic with the screen pushed all the way to the opening. Works great like this.
@phattpiggie I remember watching hee haw with my grandfather (rip). I loved the hot women and good bluegrass music. I still love bluegrass to this day.

I think RBT is referring to my test that showed that a 3.2V (LiFePO4) in a single battery unregulated device works and allows for a slower lower temperature experience. This means that you can use a wide range of temperatures without any regulation.
