I know @bonez recieved a unit yesterday as well so maybe he will chime in with his thoughts. I asked him to keep it on the DL until the annoucment was made and I thank him for doing so. I guess he just lives closer to us than you so he got it a day earlier.

I live in georgia and Haze is in Alpharetta georgia. I like this vape it a big improvement over the v2.5

What's up everybody? Newbie here, just signed up, fresh off the boat, first post. But, I've been following this thread since page forty-something. Back in December 2014 I stumbled on this site as I was trying to decide what vape to buy. It was my first purchase. I was looking for a portable device for regular use. You guys convinced me to give the Haze a try and I love it. Been coming back to this thread as my primary source of information since. Quite frankly, the answer to this question might be buried in here somewhere, but I couldn't fit it.

I'm stoked to try the V3, so I just signed up for the upgrade program. It says to include all accessories for the unit to function as intended (screens and cans excluded). So, does that mean I should include a battery and mouthpiece? Anything else? If I remember correctly, some of you have upgraded before, what's the turnaround time?

Thanks in advance.

Sadly I can't get an upgrade. I can't remember where I bought my Haze and can't find a receipt so no upgrade. Hopefully this will teach me to be more organized with receipts. Still I like my current Haze and have some other vaporizers coming at some point like the Zion.

They usually ship the same day they get your old unit. I did this several times before :)

You should include everything usable since your old unit is donated to a patient in need. Amy told me that they supply extra parts for missing screens etc. but they will require batteries, charger so the new users of your old Haze can benefit from it. @Vitolo can correct me if I am wrong of course.

Got my blacked out Haze, and I must say that I'm impressed. Every improvement seems thoughtful and well executed. I'll start with the promised report on the new lids and concentrate verticality.

The new concentrate lids are thicker, firmer, and make a tighter seal. Regardless of anything that follows, they are an improvement in build quality and durability.

The air channel on top is deeper and the holes are closer together. The holes are raised on the underside, if that makes sense, so I don't think it will leak unless upside down or overfilled. I tried some nine pound hammer wax in there, doing my best to match the picture in the manual (kernel of corn-ish sized). That yielded about 8 solid hits of very tasty vapour on 3. Since my WonG doesn't fit this version, I held it vertically, stem down, the whole time and ran a whip to my D020. No leaks. When I opened the lid, there was a perfectly clean line of concentrate residue everywhere the lid wasn't so it really seemed to do it's job. I don't think that I would load much more than that though.

I also did two cans of flower/concentrate sandwiches dry, making no effort to keep it level (like you would naturally if trying to be discrete) with no leaks.

The battery door is smoother and much more stout, but quite stiff. Personally, I think it's an appropriate trade-off and I expect it to loosen up a bit. The basic motion of slide out and then swing open remains, but with longer travel, resulting in a better latch.

The switch, like the battery door and related trim, feels like it got a material upgrade that's quite nice and looks a lot harder than the 2.5. More importantly, the cheap feeling play is gone from the switch and the movement feels more solid. The assembly underneath has changed to accommodate the new mouthpieces.

The Mouthpieces are a great example of a smart, simple fix to a really annoying problem. My Haze 2.5's metal mouthpiece had to be jimmied out when it got stuck after the first two cans. Plus, they've solved the tolerance issue with the prior glass versions with this design. The lip feels better, but it doesn't seal as well with silicone tubing, especially with the small diameter in relation to what would go on there other end (WonG/GonG). Again, a worthy trade off and it still works with tubing. Draw doesn't seem to be affected by the smaller ID.

The fiberglass-reinforced composite they reference? Think polymer frame pistol material. I was instantly reminded of a glock when I saw and touched it. This is definitely not a bad thing.

Overall, the fit and finish are much improved, and they've done a great job correcting most of the shortcomings of the 2.5. I'm a little sad that my Ed's pieces won't fit this one, but that's no fault of Haze. I remain baffled as to why the battery side is on the left, since that is where you're supposed to hold it and doesn't get hot. No offense lefties, but it seems odd to design it that way.

Is it worth the upgrade? Absolutely. Just getting fresh batteries and accessories alone would practically be worth it, provided you've gotten at least six months out of w/e version you have, plus all the improvements that I have and haven't discussed.

More thoughts and possibly function videos to follow over the next week.

Lonesome Planet
Got a Haze note 2 daze: Preorders, first V3s 2B shipped Sept 15th!

New mouthpiece, sounds inner resting.

Conduction, & Convection. Dual Modality, still.

Wonder if in further evolutions, Haze will lead the crowd with induction heating....

Volute of Vapor
The better housing is a good improvement cause my 6 months old Haze looks dirtier than my 1 year Alfa or my 2 years Xp, not only cause I use it a lot, a lot but not as my main portable vaporizer (although I get a lot of portables...).

And really nice they resolved the sticky stem issue cause it's the main issue which avoid me to quit home with it (it's my portable at home cause it need a separate place to store the stem and the time to put it in place is awkward too, and not enough discreet).

Can't find the upgrade price....please

You should include everything usable
This is a fact... since you will get all new stuff... you should pass along the entire set of pieces for "the next guy".
Not sure if i'd expect Vito to speak much more on the subject
I'll speak. I just am not seeing people at my home, and my time traveling away from home is tied between Doctors, Therapists, Lawyers, and panic.

I will resume my work with Pay it forward program, once our days belong to us.

Hi, I am a new member to this wonderful forum and quite new to the Haze vape which is AWESOME!!!! Do you know how long it will take to get my RMA# after I enrolled and paid the upgrade fee? I am assuming I will have to wait til Sept 15? :o
Welcome aboard! Thanks for choosing Haze!

Turn around is pretty good. Some depends on the speed at which you ship your old device. It needs to get to its destination and be verified. Once that happens we ship from Georgia and reach most destinations within a few days.

Shipping new units will depend on availability but we expect to have everything we need by mid September or even earlier depending on your color preference.

@scottg402

Has temp 1 changed? I'm happily blowing concentrate clouds on 1 as we speak.

Has the main door material changed? Feels lighter and more flexible. Easier to open too.

Do the metal tops on the underside of the door extend down further than before?

Temp settings are the same but the hardware that measures the temps has been upgraded. It keeps the temps more accurate with much less fluctuation. I had the same feeling when I tested mine. All settings seem more solid and reliable. I am interested in feedback on this subject from others and if because of this, we should be looking at the temp settings once again.

Yep. Beefier and slightly redesigned. The best version yet in my opinion.

@scottg402

Not that I'm aware of. I hadn't noticed anyway. However how they are attached has changed in response to some of the complaints of them falling off.

For folks who have already paid for the program here please proceed here to initiate your RMA. RMA's are processed daily but lead time on your new unit may be contingent upon our stock and your color preference. It will more likely be a few weeks before we are ready to start swapping units but I suggest you all get your request in sooner than later so you can be at the front of the line.
I hope this helps clarify things for everyone. Happy Friday folks!

Edit: hang on folks, I just realized my second link is not working. I'm checking it now.

2nd Edit: Now fixed. Sorry for any confusion. Especially you Mr. @SSVUN~YAH!

Good deal. We will get back to you with the RMA info and discuss your color preference. Right now we are all slammed with these types of requests and sales inquiries on the V3. Everyone's patience is appreciated. We are a small group with a lot of balls in the air!
