Boom Nova Tank

Hi Guys,

First of, I am from boom vaporizer and we just came out with a new baking atomizer for dry herb. We want to improve on the design of this product more and would like to grab around 3-5 beta tester to try our product out.

About the tank:

-510 threaded
-Nero tech sub ohm heating element (0.5 - 0.6 ohms)
-Air Flow control
-Adjustable baking chamber

I've been testing the tank out for the past 2 months and this is what I have learn about the tank.

at 4.7volts with baking chamber all the way down and the air flow shut off, it took about 1sec to heat up and can be use right away. It was as easy as plug and play with awesome taste. I also notice that if I set it above 4.7 volts without making the baking chamber higher off the heating element or open up the air flow, the dry product will com-bust.

I need input on how to make this tank more user friendly and to also gather data on what settings (baking chamber level, air flow control, voltage/ wattage settings) works best on this device. We want to make the nova as easy to use as possible and as affordable as we can.

if you are interested PM me.
I do apologize, because this tank is subohm and works best around 4.7volts, you will need to have a subohm capable box mod / APV in order to be selected (**I was able to use a Aspire CF sub ohm battery though**).

I am currently running mine on a cloupor gt 80w tc box mod, and have tried the nova on a couple of 30w box mods (none of them work), so if you have other type of box mods like an IPV, segeli, smoke box, or whatever I will need to know cause it will increase your chance of being selected.

Sweet idea, I've been toying with the idea of trying to slap together some kind of subOhm dry herb 'tank'
I use a mech mod predominantly at the moment; but if options like this become readily available, I could see myself running a TC Sigelei (been wanting to anyway)

Are you running it in voltage mode, wattage mode, or temp control? I'd also be curious as to what materials the coils are made of, I'd assume Ti or Ni200?

IIRC Nero Tech involves a thin foil heating element. Like the YoCan Thor. I have a thor and found the heater to not have enough mass to avoid oil pooling around the perimeter of the Nero element. Different application, I'm sure. Interesting concept though. Sadly, I do not have a box Mod. I do have a mech mod W9Tech "8". Also "the Core" VV power supply to power it. ( capable of 3.0 to 8.4V @ 5A or 40 watts.). Curious to see how it plays out in any case.

Thanks for being the first reply. That makes you #1 in my book.

So, I tried using the nova on a mechanical mod since it is unregulated. It works, but it takes like 20sec to get to temp. I feel that this is a potential hazard because the battery is draining the entire time.

Currently I am running it in voltage mode because i feel i can stay consistent with my settings longer, since wattage usually change when heating element (nickle, nichrome, ti, etc) oxidize.

The material is made of nichrome and is thinner than a human hair and have a melting point of 1200C. (The MaxTemp is st thru the dimension of the element and we have this one set at about 850F). Because it is so thin, it heats up instantly and cool down instantly.

Let me know if you do end up getting one or have a friend that has one that you can borrow!

Any sub-ohm device can handle it?

I get a Clover OverlordII which is a VV subohm battery.

really interesting...

That is what I am trying to find out. I am worry with so many fake shit in the market that its hard to say "i guarantee it work with all sub ohm box mods"

And with the Persei (with the right adaptater)?

edit: sorry I miss the Die hard post about W9 gear....

Yea,

Nero tech was our material (made in the usa) that we hand carry for them to use to make products for us. It is unfortunate that they will not fixed the problems that we have without having us pay for productions over and over again.

We were lucky enough to finally found a factory that wont do that to us and helped us upgrade the design. the problems with the thin material is that everything it heats up and cools down it will end up moving..we end up redesigning the design and made it more efficient so it last longer now.

on a side note,
if you still have the thor 1st gen we are coming out with a ceramic donut style replacement heating element for it, or if you need me to replace some heating elements to you that are upgraded let me know!

And with the Persei (with the right adaptater)?

I dont think the persi can take it cause the heating element is subohm and I think the persi minimum ohm limit is 1.0 OHm

Thor has been collecting dust , but I still have it. A ceramic donut would be cool too. I really liked he instant heat-up and cooling of the nero tech.

Everyone that post before this can also reserve a tester spot if you didnt PM me in time.

Only have room for 1 more tester

I know the thor sucks, Ill send you a thor beta as a "thank you" for being the few that bought it. The thor beta comes with its own power box mod to regulate it. PM and Ill arrange a beta for you.

Once I have the thor ceramic donut coils in Ill also hit you up.

I have been waiting for a real dry attachment since the Atmos raw combustion pen. I can't wait to try this out hardcore. The only current instant vape i have in hand that get's good vapor is the Esv, And the battery life just isn't there also not replaceable.

just watched the video and I'm very excited about this,,, I like quick, sneak a toke sessions and this seems perfect for that... especially in places like a golf courses where the e-cig looking tank wont be noticed..... woot ! stoked to be a beta tester!!!

Really excited to test this one, thanks for the spot @Boom !

Been waiting for someone to finally come out with something similar forever now. I've got quite a few box mods to test it on to see what really works (from an istick30w, 50w all the way up to an IPv4 120w) so we can see what can actually power this thing

Yes it seems to produce quickly a good quality vapor (more blue than white, maybe really tasty), I'm in the beta team although I would like to invest in another sub-ohm battery (mine seems very cheap, I bought 2 and one is already dead after very small use...), any help, links would be appreciated (keep in mind I live in EU)?

A bit off-topic but I noticed my DT sub-ohm attys (especially the dual coil) can work on an ego battery (less big hits and longer heating time), is it hazardous to do? or only a drop in performances?

what resistance are you dual coils? basically if you sub ohm vaping you need to know what the batteries voltage is under load.. if the dual coils are low res. like .3 then they will dropp the batterie / ies into dangerous levels.... below 3.3 is not good for a lipo..

regulated sub ohm mod should not let this happen... an unregulated mod will let the bat go low till possibly catistrophic failure..

I'm no battery expert... Look up lipo 18650 e-cig sub ohm vaping safety to learn more...

For all the testers, I have send out the samples on Monday so you all should get it by next week (Wednesday latest; international will take longer).

I also included one cloupor gt 80w tc (takes 2 18650 batteries, I didn't include batteries haha) for all of you for helping me test the unit out and just in case your device don't fire the boom nova tank.

Just a reminder, I use mine at 4.7 volts ( or 33-35 watts) and it started vaping instantly. use this setting first so that you know it works and then play around with the tank to see what configuration is good for you (air flow, baking chamber distance from heating element).

Hopefully usps did not play football with your package and it comes with broken glass (no worries, the set comes with 1 extra).

Yes! Been wanting something like this to fit these new box mods coming out. Will be watching this thread.

I hear ya there also this one look's better then the Silver phoenix that just vanished. I can't wait to test this one out. I will be exclusively be using this for a while, And hopefully i can get those serious clouds a lot of you guy's look for. I got the lung's that's been thoroughly proven multiple time's every year for two decades.

This looks great , if it works well it will be a big help to all of us with mods. Almost instant vapor and heat up time. Will be almost like the grasshopper vape in some ways. I am hoping it succeeds and looks forward to hopefully trying one someday. Price is on point also.

Looks interesting!! Can't wait to hear some feedback.

How is the Beta?? I was looking at the Thor and ran across the Beta. I didn't purchase as the Thor didn't have good reviews and couldn't find anything on the Beta.
