Yes. Right after he ordered it I saw your post about the walnut. Oops!
Oh well, the ambrosia maple you picked up instead looks fantastic. Enjoy it. :)

I've been using my brothers zap with the dc plug and it really does seem to make a different. When my zap with the ac plug doesn't produce any more vapor the dc still can achieve what is left of vapor. I may have to order one.

@Vitolo Thanks! Now if only I had a nice camera so I could get some really nice shots. Also, your collection of zaps is wonderful I must say. Many unique zaps. :)

MM..Food,
Got paid, seriously looking at pulling the trigger on the Maple Burl. I think that might be "the one."

I know I want to add a carbed tooty, but what is a GonG tapered short stem? Do I want that?

It's just a shorter version of the standard white stems that fits a bit better in a water pipe.
Nice to have but I wouldn't say essential. Definitely would prefer the tooty over it.

I'm using the GonG stem right now loaded with some kief and just using it dry because the shorter vapor path gives a little nicer flavor.

OK. It's kinda late for us here on Friday night ALL alone in Paradise but this is an important one to get out there.
I earlier posted a half assed reply to d13th regarding shipments to Canada. Something like maybe I will or maybe I won't, depending on my mood.
That has changed thanks to one of our Zapville team members. We now have a retailer who regularly ships his fine Denim clothing selections Globally, who is offering to sell Zaps out of the US. Blake(known here on FC as ob), is our Portland Brick and Mortar retailer offering CRZs. He has agreed to start with Canada, offering his special selection of CRZs to our northern neighbors. This will work well for a global start because we have the same electric grid here in the US. Blake will also consider sales to other countries but Canada will be his main focus initially. There will be a handling charge for Global shipping and of course the shipping charges. We are very thankful Blake has offered to begin an official entry into the Global market for Zapville.

Anyone from Canada who is interested in a CRZ, please contact Blake at blake@loveblake.com

We do appreciate the special effort ob is making to get CRZs to Canada and elsewhere. This is an initial trial BTW. It has to work for the people involved or it will stop. I will still handle warranty work but the customer must pay shipping to Zapville.

This is official. Blake has a long standing relationship with Zapville and much integrity and successful business experience.

Rock on! and good night, sleep tite.

edit for:
We might want to give Blake a couple days to get some logistics down. He is serious about this and says he should have something together by Monday/Tuesday. I also have to get another batch out to him Monday so he has more inventory.

Rick,
Just pulled the trigger on this baby....

Got the car adapter, carbed tooty, and GonG stem as well. I am pumped. Can't wait to get her in my hands.

My ambrosia maple will be in the mailbox in about 12 hrs. The above had me curious, so I googled the AM. Maybe I shouldn't have lol.

Edit*
That is a beautiful piece Dude. Looks very...."grabbable" lol. The pics never do them justice though. Hard to believe, but it will be even prettier in person.

Great morning then Deez. Fucking stunning. I don't know if that helps me with my wait or just makes it worse lmao. Is it smooth where the light meets the dark or can you feel where it changes? I'll understand if you are too busy too answer. I would be snuggling up with it.

I was afraid of that too because on the site with the close up zoom some of the grains do look kind of rough but its only the color changing. Very smooth even around those two little wormholes :worms:
sleek and smooth for sure. The grain on this one just really 'pops!

It is definitely helping to keep my hands warm tonight. its very comfortable as well
I will try to get better pictures in the morning when the sunlight is coming through

I'm getting ready to fall out, so hopefully mine will be here when I wake up. Even more excited, knowing it's smooth. I'll check for your pics before I go to the mailbox though lol. Appetizers.

Rick,

Does every unit now have the wood type carved into the back? I personally would prefer not to have it. Hope I don't offend!

Nothing I like better than waking up to a little Zap eye candy! Some very nice pics here this morning. ;)

college, I believe that all the stock units now have the printing, but I'm sure if you had something specific in mind that you might be able to work something out. I will say that the printing is pretty innocuous. It's very faint and right by the cord so you really don't feel it while holding the vape.

+ one, it looks a bit like a childes scribbling to me, I don't get why anyone want to do that to such a beautiful piece of wood. Perhaps you can make it an option instead of default?

Just a quick side shot of the Burl next to another CRZ:
newzaps002.jpg

But its the top that has me absolutely tripping. I keep spinning it like a kid with a kaleidoscope.
Heres a couple shots from different lights/surfaces. Sorry for the big pics, just wanted to show the wood as best as possible. As most of us know, you can rarely if ever capture the wood grains in Rick's work effectively with any camera regardless of lighting, etc...

This Burl was Ricks Pick. I left it completely in his hands.
Trust is an understatement.

Porn for my mom

Edit: for pics, and a big "thanks" to NYC for motivating me to finally post up some more pics.
This new Jedi Death (Sour Death Star x OG-Wan Kenobi) is helping with the motivation too :borg:

I really need to ad a burl to my collection, I was in the process of checking out with an ambrosia burl but someone nabbed it! Oh well, it seems like these just keep getting better.

Great shots NYC and treecity. That one you picked, TheDude, is very sweet. My pictures do not do much justice for these Zaps. My eyes are not the greatest and my shooting/editing process is repetitious, making for images that are just OK considering the quality of the woodwork. Hard to beat seeing and holding in real time. Thanks to all our customers who show off their Zaps here on FC and everywhere.

Interesting comments on the hand engraving of the wood species at the bottom backside of the wood. We do not take offense and understand those opinions. After all, we are selling to the public so your opinion is very important to us.
I do want to take a minute to say a few words about our work in general and specifically the hand lettering identifying the wood.

First, as you know we are old, relatively speaking. The physical Zapville team are all mid to late '60s folks. The person doing the wood turning has had a life of physical pain primarily caused by childhood polio. He also is dyslexic and has a very difficult time getting numbers and letters in the right order. He has also worked very hard his entire life building a business with several employees. He is also one fine wood artist.
His involvement turning our beautiful Zaps is a pleasant release for him. He is having fun creating such beauty that will be around for a very long time AND also has a very important function, a daily and often hourly function. The engraving is done with a high speed air powered Dental drill and is not easy to control, depending on grain patterns.
Bottom line is this is a signature by the wonderful human who created the piece. It is very imperfect as it should be but also reflects the pain and anguish this man has endured his entire life. It is his way of saying..."here you are, enjoy".
We will continue the process for now and solicit actual customer comments when they are visible in real time to the customer. We welcome those comments here. The actual drill bit doing the engraving has been reduced in size to be barely noticeable but definitely there.

As you can sense, I like the lettering. I like that it is a personalization of each Zap that also reflects the man who created the art from wood he has been scrounging for many years. We will do what the customer wants but we first need to let this one percolate through time for a good analysis before changing anything. These things are all very special even though we churn them out like we are into a production thing, which we are.

We will also always provide options for our customers, assuming it is practical to do so.

Rick,
Hey guys been a min... NYC Deez that was the zap I was looking at before I got sick congrat she is gorgeous..been dealing with a nasty flu along with dreaded post nasal drip. WTF? Found out my sore throat is from the pnd.been a heavy heavy smokers for 15 plus years, been a prof. Musician for 10 years and every where I have been someone was handing me a joint, I mean I,ve smoked pot in Moscow, Poland Brazil everyday with no break maybe a day or two in 10 fucking yrs...this is the main reason I started to vape. so apparently all that time I was destroying the cillia ( little hairs) that line the back of your throat. Well when u stop smoking they grow back, but it takes a while in my case about a month, that's why I was vaping fine with no probs. Once they come back and you "Zap" em hot air well it hurts I mean really Hurts. Good news is it takes about 2 weeks for this to stop bad news it could take longer for the post nazal drip. .anyway at least I know that I can still vape.. Btw my rockzap which the more I see the new ones the more I love it ( its so small) is hitting like Manny Pacquiao small fast and surprizingly powerful. Hope this post helps anyone who has these symptoms not to panic...

Rick, you read my mind. When I saw a few pictures of the engravings I thought "that's sweeet, just wish it was smaller". After reading your note about smaller drill bit, it sounds perfect! I also think it would be cool if the engraving was done at an oblique angle from say, the bottom left ish to the top right of the power jack. Similar to how CD's or other items are hand signed
