How is the water deflector adjustable? Mine rotates on the threading to move up and down.
I'm not too concerned. I saw the video with two water deflectors, when I was looking for info on the amount of water to use and the placement of the water deflector. Thought it might work a little better. At least until I learn to get the amount of water right.
What else does the kit upgrade?

Has anyone successfully taken out the screen off the nibbler xl top adapter of the Hercules?

Yes, the first thing I did when I got the nibbler xl was remove the screen. Same thing when I got the Herc. Just seems unnecessary and gets clogged easily/wastes oil IMO.
Dont try to pry it out or anything. There is a plastic thumbscrew that holds it in (but a little to big for a thumb, use a coin).

Any idea when this might be getting sold? I was tempted by the one ov has, but couldn't find a 510 ego to 601 mod adapter. I've kind of changed my mind since then and don't want to do adapters. I'm way more interested in the 7.4 one coming later, but if the price is good I'd probably pick up and entry level one in the meantime.

Adapters are a pain and look ugly, in my experience. Of course, I use one daily with my 3G KISS cart, and while it looks like garbage, it works fine. It's more of a desperation measure, IMO. Clearly if it's for home use, aesthetics are a personal choice. But if you wanted to take it out, it looks janky enough to draw some looks.
If you can get away with waiting for the 601 mod, I'll bet you'll be a lot happier. Also, it will be released on OV, so hopefully the price will be competitive with those other mods they sell
Plus, who wants to be limited to the 3.7v rod?
@THC SCIENTIFIC will the mod that works with 7.4v rod also work with 3.7, or will I need separate low resistance and high resistance mods for each rod?

It's likely that a rebuild of the 8 and correctly made adjustments will get the SR-71 firing well on the 8. I would be happy to assist with a rebuild of your 8 over Skype if you would like. Several FC'ers have gotten a lot better functionality of their 8's after a few minutes playing on webcam. We can go over things like best way to seat the pins in the discs properly, and how to adjust the top pin perfectly against the SR-71. Add me @samuraisam33 if I can help!
I made that video of two water deflectors. A second upgrade kit for $15 would get you two deflectors. I saw a slight increase in performance with 2 deflectors, the bottom one acts as an anchor for the meniscus of the water, and the top one deflects water away from the airflow holes.
The biggest thing the upgrade kit does its the 2 piece upper tube. Its design eliminates the leaking of the original Okeanos and actually makes it so you can take apart the oke without flooding the lower chamber. The additional flat sealing rings ensure no leaking glass!
This will make the Nibbler XL get dirty quickly, but it can help with airflow. The other thing to pay attention to here is your draw strength- how hard are you pulling? You may need to relax your lungs just a tad if you are pulling up a TON of oil, your technique might need adjusting....
I prefer 7.4 but many like 3.7V with the Black rod! It has a longer heat up time than the white rod but can produce really flavorful vapor with a more relaxed technique than 7.4V. Make sure you use a good battery like an AW 18650. I think the SR-74x works best with only one coil; I don't use my SR-74x with 2 coils, ever.

@Breathemetal - w9tech.com still has you covered for all your 601 needs. The only 601 threaded items manufactured by us, available elsewhere are currently the Hercules SR-74x, standard Globe kits, and Alpha Centauri replacement coils. For any other 601 items you'd need to hit up w9tech.com or one of our retailers.

My 8 is still weak with kiss ac dual cool. I am sick of adjusting the copper top. I have been adjusting and adjusting but it work randomly
The issue seams to be in the button some where, constant adjustment isn't needed.
Now let me ask you a question, when you say it is weak with the kiss Ac dual is it at 7.4v?
And are you pressing the button and applying pressure ?
