600? !
So since this thread was created by Fenton Mewley a bit over a month ago
it has now reached 600 posts. Wow, I would never have imagined there would be interest like this in a product most people haven't used yet. I love the interaction here and try to check regularly unless I'm busy at the Cannabis Cup or something. Please keep the questions coming. Also I hope to get a few more I want it fast orders out this week.

Cheers,

George

George, if the VapCap is as good as it looks, we will take you to 200 pages in no time!

EDIT: how is the full-Ti working for you so far?

I have a question for the people that already have the units, the mouthpiece is silicone right? Couldn't you use a regular bubbler with a bowl, and hold the mouthpiece over the bowls hole?

The sound of vapor
@VapCap, how long after using it would you say one would have to wait before being able to open/refill it?

Also, I've ordered a Ti woody and the classic vapcap but please tell me it'll be possible to tweak that order if desired (for instance change the classic for a full Ti) before you start shipping? I have the feeling you have more for us in your magic hat!

I believe the cap can be handled soon after you hear the cooling click. It was also mentioned you can accelerate this by blowing on it. So doesn't sound like it takes very long.

It's cool enough to touch after the cooling click if you hold it lightly. You can push the cap off with your nail if you want to access chamber before the cap clicks.

Sounds like a good idea, let's try that.

Yup, that's a good idea. Funny thing though, is water really helpful when the vapor is pretty smooth and not harsh anyway?

Once you learn how to lightly touch the metal cap, you can remove it as soon as it clicks, especially if you have a magnetic holder or one of my special Doug outs. The cap cools off in 3 to 5 seconds once it's off. Then you can use the digger outer to clear out the abv. Reloading even with hot glass or Ti is as simple as a hitter. Cap goes back on and re heat takes as little as 3 seconds as the glass is already hot. I've tried to get it really hot too, but even after more than a dozen rapid fire heat it till it clicks, even the glass handle stays cool.

Preorder modifications are fine now until I ship your order. Just let me know what you would like to do.

Thank you,

George

I have a lot of vaporizers, and will use water with most of them if it's an option. When I got my first vaporizer and joined here, I thought "why are these crazy people using water toys when the vapor is already so smooth?" Then I tried it and it changed the way I vaporize forever.

So to answer your question, IMO water is very helpful to moisturize the (otherwise quite dry) vapor, smoothing out the hits even more. :2c:

I personally don't forsee myself using water with the VC when vaping flower. Maybe to try as a novelty, but the vapor is very managable as is. It is not as harsh as the VapMan.

Now when i use the VC with buble hash, keif, or a bit of shatter on top, than i could certainly see the benefit of water conditioning.

Hey Krazy! Wanted to ask you a question in relation to the vapman…

What I like about the vapman is that it's a true on demand design. You heat it, you hit it and it's cool again, keeping the load below vaporization temps. Now with the VapCap, you have said it takes 2-3 hits for the tip/cap to cool down… Does that mean that if you take just one medium hit, it keeps roasting the load for 10-20 secs until it cools down on its own? :\

When compared to the VM, the cooldown is a little longer. But not much, maybe an additional 3 to 5 seconds in my estimate to cool down. I usually get two puffs per heat cycle with the VM. With the VapCap, Right before you hear the cooldown click visual vapor has mostly deminished, i wouldn't worry much at all about herb cooking between puffs. It seems to be primarily convection and you can certainly use it in a similar manner as the VapMan.

I originally did say 2 or 3 hits per cycle for the VC. But it is more like 2 after more testing. But you can adjust on the fly easily. And heat less high, and conserve more. Or torch a couple seconds past the click and go onto hyperdrive.

You can also blow on the cap to decrease cool down time. Or touch the tip to a cold pint glass or canned beverage, ect. It also cools down quicker in heavy winds.

or you can take the cap off and that will cool it down pretty quick.

IamKrazy2, what's the darkness of material when you put it in 'hyperdrive'?

In regards to the bud roasting while not inhaling, I think it may not be that big a deal. I own and have used both the Vapman and Mighty extensively, and it seems that they are pretty close when it comes to efficiency. In the mighty, it might take 10 minutes for me to finish a load with a friend. The load is heated the whole time, but it doesn't seem to ruin the efficiency.

At low vaporization temperatures the actives will vaporize, but if they are not removed by inhalation, they will re-condense to be vaporized in the next heat cycle. There will be degradation of actives from excess heat, but that seems like a really small factor here.

I'm happy the vapcap gives more than one standard puff, because it sounds like I'll be able to choose between a few leisurely sips and a big lung busting hit. Both of which I enjoy, depending on my mood.

I usually put the VC into hyperdrive and take almost all my loads to black. No ash, no combustion, and vapor heat is very managable.

It is odd. I don't take loads to this dark with any of my other vapes. Im usually a lighter brown kind of guy with the Evo, Herbie, Lotus, VapMan (although it is a lot harder to get the last bit with the VM), FireFly, Daisy, Zion Powerhouse TOD, ect

I dont have to kick the VC into hyperdrive. But for some reason i always do and i think a lot of it is i enjoy the experience and the vapor isn't too hot.

Edit. My friend SHOULD be here today to shoot my VapCap Beta and Zion Powerhouse TOD Beta videos later tonight.

Thanks for getting back to me. Your sentiment here mirrors mine. I'd have trouble going that black with the vapes I have without combusting. It's a trick the VC does that I haven't quite figured out yet.

Perhaps it has something to do with its balanced blend of convection with conduction (and radiation too) that is providing the unique experience?

Glad to hear its still nice and smooth despite that extraction, even dry. Though I am still really looking forward to see what the GonG can do... And rest assured I will post clouded glass pics when I have one to test

Wooden Ti with a dugout is sounding perfect to me for use when out and about

@Shit Snacks word, about the GonG (gonna get a LOT of indoor use). Full Ti looks as difficult to hurt as I like in a camping vape, pretty amped for that as well. Ti/woody looks classy, but I'd be mad as hell if I hurt that... Not that I won't kick my own ass the first time I ding the full Ti model...

@VapCap and @IAmKrazy2 Are the 2 dugouts the same size and what wood is each made of? Also could one of you show the inside of the dugout. Thanks

George, the all TI VapCap looks good man...to me it looks both sleek and industrial. Very reminiscent of an ecig. I like it.

Posting this pic again for no other reason than that this VapCap looks sick and it needs to be on this page of the thread!
