Alternative energy sources?

My brother and i love to grill breakfast before sporting events. We are headed to the Detroit Tigers game this afternoon. Steaks, eggs, breakfast sausage, hash browns ect. Cast iron skillet. Perfect.

Forgot my torch inside. Used tbe grill to get the VapCap up to temperature. Pretty cool. Worked better than the candle the one time i tried one. Triple torch is best, but alternative options are available in a pinch.

i tried a grill lighter and it works but it requires finesse as it's just not dumping as much heat.

I also like the daisy torch with the vapcap, still formulating how it's different but again the single torch takes finesse, sometimes the avb is a little darker then I normally like... I still haven't combusted yet though.

You've touched on an important point that is universal for flame based vapes: if your source of flame goes bad or gets lost or forgotten then no vape. Best to have a couple backups.

So when is the new vap coming and is it the color? Also, there seems to be confusion on what the colored vapcap is made out of. I assumed it was glass but there are some that assume it is titanium. George?

Looking forward to seeing the new vap and possibly video. I'd like to know/seeing more about that tie-dyed titanium (i assume) and the woody as well. Also looking forward to seeing a uniform color titanium that is all silver or the same color, including the cap. It could like one of those cigarette sized e-cigs which are quite stealthy. Like these:

I just wonder about how hot it would get and if that would be a problem like it has been with the Vaporgenie steel and aluminum bats.

The tie dyed vap was actually the same lab glass as well the original VapCap coated with a very ( semi transparent it is so thin) metal coating.

As far as ship dates, I am waiting on my first full production run of caps. This is anticipated to happen mid to late September.

Here is a picture of the 1st all Ti VapCap with a cap next to it.

Cup went well. Sold a few pre production models for $50 including a torch. Crowd was awesome. I had a great time. I am looking for stores and dispensaries to carry the product now if anyone is interested or has any suggestions. Thanks for the support, I hope to have more pictures and some new videos up soon.

Thank you,

George

I had a feeling it was glass! I can't wait to order it with my OG VC! The metal one looks super sleek! I love how each vap has it's own personality that kind of can relate to the owner. The colored one can be seen as a hippie/free spirit device while the metal can be seen as a very very high end device that means business. Still loving everything you are doing. Wake me up when September ends.... or before that when my vap comes... whichever comes first ;)

I tried my small page sized fresnel lens to heat up the vapcap today....I couldn't get it hot enough but part of the problem is the SS cap reflects the sunlight vs absorbing it like a non reflective surface would.

I think with a bigger concentrater a person could make it work though

Looks amazing... I like the sleek look. Looks a bit like a whistle or what could be a regular combustion pipe one hitter.@VapCap How does it work in comparison to the glass vapcap and woody vapcap? Would be interested in knowing how manageable the heat is on that unit. I might want to jump in on that one too...

Well I originally was on the first indinono campaign, then got refunded and kinda got caught up in other stuff and forgot about the vapcap. I'm so glad I decided to come have a peek again! The Collab with Ed looks awesome/beautiful- I love wood, especially if it's been turned by Ed!

@VapCap I'm really glad to see the direction your venture is taking. Could you tell me what the bowl is made of on the ti woody model? Is the bowl glass or Ti? And is the vapour production/quality/taste the same as the OG vapcap? I'm defo ordering the OG, but want the Ti woody even more, so might get both... Damn VAS and waiting for hoppers!!!

The Ti woody is exactly that. A titanium tip and a wood stem. The cap is the same high grade ss as all the current Vaps. The flavor will have hints of wood. But they will diminish with use.
I am looking into other materials for use in tip construction. I have a few ideas, but I'll prototype them before I get into details.

Thanks,

George

@VapCap Can't wait to see how these new units work (the wood, titanium, and glass with metal coating units)...hope you put up a video about how the units work and/or show them in action soon. I realize you are probably very busy, but I think I've asked like 20 questions on this forum in the past two days and had none answered. Kind of frustrating. I'm happy for what you are doing though. I'm excited about this vape. I don't think I've ever asked 20 questions about another vape within the time span of a couple days...

Ok great, I think for now I might just get the OG vapcap, and hold off getting a woody until you've played around with the tip (<- unintended innuendo lol), not that I have a problem with the tip being Ti or the stem being wood (did I mention I love wood?), but just because I can see myself wanting many of your different iterations as you develop, so I might as well wait until your designs are finalised etc.

Good on you bro, I'm wishing you all the best, and il be placing an order shortly (damn it I'm still contemplating the Ti woody)!!

The heat on the woody is almost un-noticeable. Less than the og glass units. I just finished my first prototype of the all ti unit, so I don't have enough usage to give any report yet. I will likely be doing some fine tuning there as well, so the performance is likely to improve as I work with it.

Current design on the all Ti and potentially the others with the separate tips is to use a Ti inner tube. I could also use glass, but it gets a bit fragile when it is that small a diameter. Since the non glass versions have a less breakable design, I don't think glass is what most people would be looking for, but please do let me know. I do try to answer everyone's questions, so if I missed yours I'm sorry. The past few days have been a bit of a blurr for me.
Please feel free to message me directly as well.

Ti inner tube in the Ti seems logical to me! Can't wait for it, I hope I can afford it… :p

EDIT: Ti model has a Ti mouthpiece? I wonder if it's comfortable to the lips…

ok, well I've gone and ordered an OG vapcap, and am still humming and ha-ing about the Ti woody- I think the wood would look much more inconspicuous when out and about, but in my experience wood loves to soak up the aromas... Does the Ti woody come with the special case, and is the case relatively smell proof?

Also, when pondering on your designs @VapCap , and thinking of improvements/alterations, I had a bit of an idea, which touches on what another member was asking about: lower temp hits. I'm not sure whether my idea would work, as it all depends on how much conduction/convection is going on, basically my idea is this:

When I look at the Ti tip on the woody, the 'ribs' on the metal intuitively seem to look like 'stoppers' for placement of the cap- is there anyway you can build in 2 or 3 different cap positions at different distances from the load? Would this even affect the temperature? My thinking is that if you place the cap slightly further away from the load, maybe 1 or 2mm from being fully 'on tight', that you may affect a useful temperature drop. However if the primary heating of the herbs is from conduction from the sides of the cap, this probably won't work.

Any thoughts?

Peace

@VapCap keeps throwing ideas of future models around, so i can't up my mind yet. :) first i was sold on TiWood, then intrigued with adding the future interchangeble glass tube to the Ti-tip, now the all-Ti model with a possible Ti inner tube comes into the mix. decisions. decisions. :)
read the whole thread in the meantime and liked the videos. :) George is a guy, i want to buy my vapes from. :)

If you can't make up your mind, I sure hope you buy the original Vapcap for next to nothing while you wait to decide on what fancy version you're the most excited about.

i hear you, that's why i'll probably buy the original Vapcap as a birthday gift for my little brother. he might test it(with my involvement, of course), while i patiently wait for the fancy models to be finalized. :)
which got me thinking, i actually could use all my brothers as guinea pigs. :D

As the older brother, you really need to get in on this. Have you tried blaming them for things you did yet? It works surprisingly well :D

600? !
So since this thread was created by Fenton Mewley a bit over a month ago
it has now reached 600 posts. Wow, I would never have imagined there would be interest like this in a product most people haven't used yet. I love the interaction here and try to check regularly unless I'm busy at the Cannabis Cup or something. Please keep the questions coming. Also I hope to get a few more I want it fast orders out this week.

Cheers,

George
