I love Jummy Carter

Our past president Jimmy Carter is 90 years old and has found out he has brain cancer. He has been blessed with a long healthy life. I was a young woman at the time that he was president. Unfortunately he was the one on duty during the time that Iran was holding America hostages. Plus the economy was in the toilet back then. We bought a house with 11% interest rate. That's probably what cost him a second term. Our next president turned out to be Ronald Reagen and he gets all kinds of acolades.

Since being president, President Carter has worked tirelessly helping to build houses for the less fortunate. He was heavily involved with Homes For Humanity, one of the key people that helped to form it. He has helped with elections in other countries ( we need help here). Helping with human rights and advancing in disease prevention in third world countries. He's always busy doing something. He will slow down now he says.

What a gracious and humble man. In the face of cancer he's going through it with such bravery and courage. He seems to genuinely be a really sweet person.

Probably everything he's done after being president will be his legacy.

EDIT
Jimmy Carter says he’s never smoked pot, but there’s no doubt his son Chip did on the roof of the White House with Willie Nelson. Still, Carter was the most progressive president on pot in the War on Drugs era, telling Congress, “I support legislation amending Federal law to eliminate all Federal criminal penalties for the possession of up to one ounce of marijuana.”

I'm also a Jimmy Carter fan... I like this article - http://www.breakingburgh.com/?p=1549

One thing he says he will change during the time he has left is he will no longer hold his tongue about all the idiocy that he has had to put up with during his 90+ years on the planet.

“I may be a gentle peanut farmer from Georgia at heart, but – make no mistake – there’s going to be some tongue-lashings over the next few weeks that would make a sailor blush.”

**Rumors even circulated that Reagan’s campaign staff negotiated with the Iranians to be sure that the hostages would not be released before the election, an event that would surely have given Carter a crucial boost. (Reagan himself always denied these allegations.)**

Just like he denied the Iran-Contra shit too. FUCK REAGAN...SHITTY HUMAN BEING AND SHITTIER PRESIDENT!!! Should of been shot for treason!

Former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, stole the spotlight at Turner Field, as the former First Couple made an appearance on the Braves' kiss cam.

They have been married 69 years.

One month prior to the election, President Carter had signed the Mental Health Systems Act, which had proposed to continue the federal community mental health centers program, although with some additional state involvement. Consistent with the report of the Carter Commission, the act also included a provision for federal grants “for projects for the prevention of mental illness and the promotion of positive mental health,” an indication of how little learning had taken place among the Carter Commission members and professionals at NIMH. With President Reagan and the Republicans taking over, the Mental Health Systems Act was discarded before the ink had dried and the CMHC funds were simply block granted to the states. The CMHC program had not only died but been buried as well. An autopsy could have listed the cause of death as naiveté complicated by grandiosity.

Not sure why the Democrats didn't put this back into practice when they had a chance.
