Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Ok. I finally calmed my Zion down and truly tested the low end flavor side of this chameleon. At roughly 50% power on a 15 second pre heat I got a mouth full of solid flavor hit. No noticeable vapor but unreal flavor. Repeated same preheat and got another wow flavor with a wispy cloud of vapor. Turn up dial 5-10% more about half the pre heat and another great flavor hit with a good amount of vapor. I repeat 2 more times and I'm in a cloud of vapor. The taste is still very good. No burn popcorn flavor. Load after 5-6 hits is starting to turn golden. I stir it and take a HUGE hit. And then get a couple more after. It's amazing this this is even working let alone giving me this kind of results.

Curious how much was loaded actually HD? And screen placement? Ofcourse we all have different draw styles as well...

With my screen placed a cm in, so there's a glass rim, filled full with medium grind, I get clouds at 40% with 10sec preheat, tasty tasty thinnish heady heady clouds, and I believe my heater even runs a bit cooler than yours

Stock stem with screen located where the male end meets barrel of the stem. If that makes sense. My load is half way up the male end basically. Pushed to the screen. It's how the stock stem was sent.

Great Scott!
IDK how I'm going to wait until october. My firefly is acting up, and my mighty just doesn't make me feel great. I prefer full convection. Don't get me wrong the mighty is great, but I'm sitting here with this $400+ vape wishing I had my zion instead lol. TBH I've been so meh about the state of portable vaporizers lately that I've been just hitting oil everywhere.

Another great day with Zoey. I charged the batteries on Tuesday. Still using it off that charge. Don't have a exact number of loads, I lost track. Honestly I feel this vape could replace a desktop vaporizer. The amount of vapor it produces is significantly better in both amount and flavor then I get from my extreme q.
As far as this against my other convection battery vapes. The EV. Zoey blows it out of the water. Hooking up to a pc becomes tiresome as does all the maintenance it requires. Then the majority of the time i get marginal vapor for my efforts. Zoey is so simple. Need more heat turn the dial clockwise. Iso the glass stem stick a new screen in and done. It is heads above the FF. Both in vapor production and battery life/cost. There both very tasty so thats a draw. The build is better on the Zion. But I am a wooden vape lover, so I may be slightly bias in that reguard.

Ooooh so your using it dome outward, not basket style then? More E-Nano than Underdog? That could be part of it too, load further away from heater, maybe try placing it like a basket too (like an interior EQ screen, with glass rim instead of metal overhang)? Could be a different experience, not that you're having a bad one by any means! Ive just found this style more effective than when I tried the other though both work)

I'm digging the single-battery stealth unit, my firewood never did quite scratch that dugout itch :science:
For $90 it's looking like a sweet deal, and definitely stealth -- I'm leaning toward TOD just for speed-toking large loads. I bet the extra time spent getting the single battery unit to vape a load lends itself to some tasty vapor. Something about temp stepping naturally during a slow heat up is nice; especially when it's tough to see what's going on in a concert. It's nice to have flavor to go by, and the relatively low likelihood of unexpected combustion as a safety net when using discretely.

I am recalling that RBT mentioned somewhere sometime in this thread or on the website that we're able to put a finish of natural oil on our units - what kind of oils are we talking about here?
Great ? For the Beta units I used A light coat of butcher block oil. I think @VegNVape has some ideas. What would everyone like to see?

Ooo I assumed that the maple came without the finish and that we could apply the oil ourselves. I was more interested in what approved oils we could use on them for personalizing purposes/if it would affect the taste over time. Personally for the unit I ordered I was thinking that rubbing a small block of beeswax wouldn't hurt, and could seal the wood as well

Yeh funny I was thinking that leaving it natural in a natural paper wrap might be the way to go. Maybe put in a sample of some organic wax or oil. That way the customer could choose to put it on or apply their own. Folks might even want to wood burn or otherwise finish it. @VegNVape customized Sir John.

raw is great! natural unbleached parchment wrap would be perfectly fine and likely i'd keep the wrap and set it aside for some rosin press anyhow~. i'm foreseeing there'll be a load of creative users who've done some cool artwork on their unit. the future is so bright for the zion

Killer suggestion! Thanks for taking the time to contribute. So exciting to be preparing these finer details for the production launch. The Beta team is behind the scenes determining what is included with the Zion as we speak. They already have me talked into giving you all an extra stem and screens... I guess you guys are worth it :)

I'm thinking a Zion would look absolutely beautiful stained dark. I might have to do that when I get my hands on mine, although I'll say that woodburning looks seriously compelling, too! I love that wood gives us a canvas on which to customize, and that even without doing a thing, the wood is still beautiful, too. God, I hope October comes quickly :)

Isn't this great? Everyone can finish their Zion in their own way if they wish! Endless possibilities!

But to keep it fairly basic, organic cold pressed linseed oil would do well, walnut oil even better (although not for allergy sufferers). Both are obviously completely food safe and offer a low impact way to perk up & revitalise the look of your wood . . .

I'm not into beeswax but understand that many will take this route as it is so common & readily available - many folk may indeed have a 'chapstick' of beeswax on-hand (as soon will you RBT) as it is supplied with the vapes from @TriiKLe.

Rasta, I did mention that my photo of Johnny looking all bedazzled several pages back was in fact digitally enhanced! He's not really been branded! Sorry!

But check out Johnny's crazy maple striping that is appearing through seasoned use - it literally changes and shimmers as you look at it from different angles . . . they're not the greatest pics, and they don't really do Johnny any justice, but you hopefully get a rough idea of what I'm saying. . . . .

Shimmer shimmer yah shimmer yeah shimmer yay (gimme the mic so I can take it away)! - Sorry, couldn't resist! ;)

Ain't he a beaut!
