How did you first learn FC existed? What brought you here?

Thankyou @CarolKing and @FlyingLow. It's hard to express just how important a resource fc has been for me. Vaping is NOT widespread in my country. The only other aussies i have come across who vape (or have even heard of vaping) are on this site!

In my part of australia it's strictly bongs - mostly bongs that haven't been cleaned for months (eeeeew). I don't even know anyone who smokes joints! So fc has been a revelation for me...it has changed my attitude toward mj for the better and is helping me to become both mentally and physically healthier.

I could not have done this on my own; without the fc community i would still be under the illusion that a stinking, filthy bong was a great way to ingest mj. Combusting seems kind of primitive to me now (so last century, lol) and i am determined to leave it in the past where it belongs!

I was directed here via a personal reference. I had always seen the fishbowl, soldering iron type "vaporizers" for years in shops and wrote them off due to the fact that, whenever I tried one, they were terrible.

After a visit with SSVUN~YAH, and trying the SSV through some water, my eyes were opened and I was directed here. Bought my first vape (an LSV, which I still love) and I was hooked. Spent a bunch of money on lots of new glass and new vapes. I do love vaping, however, I still enjoy and nice fat joint of some funk especially with a cold beer every so often. I think it has to do with the ritual of it. The process of smelling it, touching it, breaking it up, rolling it, and the holding/smoking the joint, was always enjoyable. Guess I'm too old school to completely give it up, however I combust much, much less than I did.

Now whenever I get a chance, I am always trying to turn others onto the benefits and efficiency of vaping and try to be an ambassador for it whenever possible.

I found FC when I was researching vaping oil off an RDA. I was only interested in that and read the one hitter quitter thread all the way through. I built some coils shown by @2clicker and just hung out as a lurker for a bit. I was still combusting bong loads and slowly started to read other post on here. I decided one day I wanted to start vaping exclusively and haven't looked back. If it wasn't for this site I would still be 'busting!
My previous experience with vapes were limited to a shitty globe type vape in hs, a wooden box vape pretty sure it was a vb, and a roommate that had the og volcano. I would have never looked into getting a weed vape if it wasn't for FC as i was never overly impressed with any those vapes. The volcano was ok but I like vaping through water and the bags are loud as fuck!!

Thanks FC for opening my eyes!!:rockon:

Next week my 52nd birthday is coming up. Never did drugs in my whole life. I was always wondering if I am missing out on something. So finally I decided to give it a go. I bought some ak47 on darknet last week. It was an adventure to get there, tor browser, markets, bitcoins, encryption,... The envelope arrived two days later. No police, what a relief ;)

Then I started doing research about the best way to smoke it: with tobacco like the British or without, how to roll a joint, filter or not, how much weed to use, what to expect, ...

I read about vaporizers, liked the idea, and - being a techie - got carried away, and bought a solo. It arrived two days ago. I just warmed it up because the stem did fit otherwise. And a grinder came by mail today, nothing fancy, but 4 piece aluminum.

Now it is all sitting in my drawer, waiting ... [I kind of like the suspense]

I just wanted to thank you for providing all this information. I would not know who to ask. And I really like the friendly people here.

After a 34 year cannabis break, I was fortunate enough to find this place while researching the Pax on YouTube. (unfortunately, I didn't research very good. I ended up with one.) Kept coming back because it's chill and just plain fun reading through the posts. Crazy how much knowledge can be gained in a short time here and my oh my, how times have changed in the cannabis world!
Thanks to some here who steered me to an Underdog. Couldn't be happier. It's the weekend, so I'm going to run the Dog some more. Everyone have a good weekend.

Why do you say "unfortunately... (you) ended up with one?"

I like mine (not as much as my EVO, but as a portable I like) just wondering why you don't like it.

34 years? That's one hell of a dry spell!

My first vaporizer was a Hot Box. Then I got a Digi Volcano. Then, in 2009, I found FC, probably due to a search, and found out there were plenty of other fine vaporizers out there, AND THE MOST IMP PIECE OF INFO: there is no one perfect vaporizer that fits everyone in all vaping situations. That, and all your friends will laugh at your V.A.S. "problem".

I don't mind the Pax so much. Just thought I could have done better for the money.
I quit in the late 70's due to bad decisions I was making caused by all the other mind bending substances I was indulging in. I knew pot wasn't causing me problems, but just needed to leave the whole drug scene. Got my act together with help from great people, raised a beautiful family and am enjoying sweet cannabis once again, except now I don't have to go to a drug dealer with guns laying around to get it!

i originally found FC in 08. for the life of me i cannot remember what i was searching for when i found it. the name of the forum alone attracted me. at this time i was combusting herb and cigs. like others i had tried other vapes in the past and was less than impressed. so i never considered it an option. until i started reading threads here. i lurked for about a whopping hour before i was convinced and signed up. sometime in 2010 FC updated and i lost my original account and had to create a new one. anyway, after that hour of reading and watching some videos online i decided to get myself a DBV and LOVED that thing. i was so stoked to stretch my stash further, the flavor was WAY better, and reclaiming from the 7th Floor wands was a huge plus. wand hash...? yes please!

so i get my DBV and tell myself i am going to strictly vape for 2 weeks straight. giving up combusting herb and cigs. then after the two weeks i loaded up a really nice dry sidecar ive got and guess what??? YUUUUUKKKKKKKKKKK! it was so dsigusting. i could not believe that i actually enjoyed it at one time. i used to think i could really taste the herb back then. bwaahahahahahah not even close. then i tried cigs again... same deal. i was done smoking cigs and flowers and have never looked back.

so not only did FC exponentially improve my cannabis experience, but i also kicked tobacco/nicotine altogether. i am forever thankful and try to give back. i can honestly say this is the best forum i have even been a part of. love this place!

Well baked and perfectly toasted.
I just found FC last week while looking for info on a vape to give my friend. I think it was a Startpage search that turned up vape reviews on FC.

I started vaping with an Arizer EQ right when the Q model came out. Not sure how long ago that was. I was just digging through my collection of paraphernalia acquired over 30+ years and thinking of how I have no desire to smoke again.
