Applesauce?
Would that work?im not an expert on what ingredients change consistency and overall taste in a recipe. I'm game to try it out !just don't want to ruin my batch of oil because substituting something made the end product inedible or not tasty.

We will see how it works ,making those ginger snaps vegan style today !going with honey as a substitute for the sugar. I don't really want to try them myself at the moment wish I had some testers on hand :dog:

After making so many special brownies over the years I hate them now!makes it eaiser since I don't eat chocolate and am vegan. I love ginger just eating it plain so I'll definitely stock up on fresh and dried when I go out to get the ingredients.

First the flavor, then the buZzz settles in....
Awesome thanks for the tip !i just wanted to compare to the vegan recipe I'm using. I'm wondering if there's anything I can substitute sugar for ?not big on that stuff. Or maybe a healthier substitute

Honey? 100% natural fruit juice?

To increase potency by adding more coconut oil would it be a bad thing if I used more then what the recipe called for. Say it was for 1 cup and I used
1 1/2- 1 3/4cups

Brown sugar healthier or maybe try using honey as a sweetner

I know the original post is old, but it seems a little less easy than what I do so I figured it's still worth sharing.

Canna Coconut Oil:

  • 1 small sauce pan
  • 1 small metal bowl who's rim can rest on the pan's rim without dropping in
  • fill water in pan until bowl barely floats and barely touches pan
  • put 1/2 oz ABV with 5 table spoons coconut oil in bowl
  • simmer (under boiling), at low temp for 2 hours
  • decant then strain oil, cool and save
Canna Coconut Bhang:
  • dump water from pan
  • put remaining ABV in pan
  • add a 1/2 cup heavy cream and 1/2 cup whole milk
  • simmer (under boiling), at low temp for 1 hour
  • strain milk, drink and enjoy (:freak:), compost ABV
This is my favorite afternoon of the month! Hehe.

Coconut oil has many health benefits and is one of the best oils to cook with. I also find its one of the easiest and most effective to infuse with cannabis.

ABV/Fresh(You can use any amount, the ratio should be "just enough coconut oil to cover the herb completely")
:peace:

Well I dont like this approach, I think it should be more scientific. for example, there should be a ratio or AVB/WEED to COCONUT OIL.

Im trying to find something that works, and details are left out many times....

it should be more scientific

There are so many variables. How good the unvaped product was; how far vaped the product taken - yellow/green or chocolate brown; grind of ABV; length of time coco oil/ABV in hot water bath; how often agitated;

The best a person can do is "titrate", that is, experiment on yourself. To titrate is to measure how much of a substance you have by measuring how much of the solution is required to achieve a given reaction. Start small....

im more interested in ratio of weed/coconutoil/soylechtin combo. I think im going to try this forumula I found, it calls for freezing it a couple of times. It might be a secret of some sort who knows

for example some people say leave the plant martial in the pills, others say leave it out

But I like it!
Once you've done it a few times you'll find a method that works for you. I only freeze if I'm doing a cold wash in ethanol, which I don't do with ABV. Rule of thumb tho is enough coconut oil to cover your herb. For lecithin I use a tablespoon for each cup of oil. And I filter it afterwards because I don't like chewing on herb. I've tried, several times, and it gets worse every time :)

I just tried a.method that said to use a 1.5 gram to 7 gram ratio of weed/oil

I ate 3...in about 2 hours ill see if its a failure

One 2 tuts with people comment they said ti freeze and reheat 4 Times...

If you truly want to be scientific about it then you need to figure out what actives are left in your ABV, right? Otherwise, what does it matter what the ratios are, you should then measure the actives in your oil to determine potency, since the extraction probably won't be 100% of whatever is left. I agree with @macbill

Hey guys I'm going to do my first coconut infusion with 9 grams of avb. Getting a coffee grinder, oil and Mason jar today. Anyone want pics of the process as well as an effect report? I aim to be medicating tonight :D

doing another run of this in the crockpot tonight. I did one before but with only like 3 or 4 g this time with 15g ABV and not vaped that much minor green bits even (but thats another post making sure my vape is getting correct air ventilation)

I bought the soy lethichin and have a couple tsp mixed in a mason jar in my crockpot will take it out in the morning. I haven't bought the pill container but i have a brownie mix box to use up so i may dose it into those and freeze the extras ....

will be interesting to see how many doses from the 14g

Put all in refrigerator and cool down. Oil solidifies: easy peasy. Oil floats on water: you could re-melt, let settle, and cool down. If you cool in a bowl, after it solidifies, you could invert bowl and let the water out.

I've decided to make a batch of ginger snaps. I have some coco-oil in the fridge, but I want to enhance the oil. My recipe calls for 3/4 of a cup of shortening, so one cup of coc0-canna will suffice. I'm bringing a cup of my oil up to 225 250 so that I can add a gram of concentrate I have hanging around. I gave it 20 minutes at 225>= to decarboxylate the concentrate. I hope the cookies rock.

So I think because I added too much soy lethicin the mixture is not separated. I made it before and as you said it solidified in the fridge normally. I think the extra soy lethicin is to blame for the lighter colour.

If there isn't an idea to separate I may just pop these into ice cubes and then use them as a spread on toast with Nutella and peanut butter

I just use 1 Tbsp per cup coconut oil. I'm surprised it did not separate out. Some folks actually melt their oil in water and solidify to help remove any plant matter suspended in the oil.
