New hammer gear turned up, went to swap the rubber and it is melted to the metal. Been going for half an hour now and it's pretty well suck and it's such an awkward position. Going to see if I can get a little blade today something a little better. Tweezers and my smallest knife aren't up for the task. Anyone come across this?

One of mine melted to my underdog.

Okay had a shocker, ordered a female gong (the people at hammer even asked if I was sure! And I was :/ ). Got two bongs both with male ends, one is bigger than this gong and one is and one was lent and I just learnt is broken. So anyways just wondering if there is some cheap chinese class I could get to make this thing pair with something like a beaker with a female end (like those double male hose connectors). Or is this generally too hands and cumbersome? This gong fits well and tight so that end is okay.
I don't really want to order a male gong because I have found I love the female gong for direct draw, preferring it to the straight tube.

Also anyone else direct draw from their gong? Is using the male gong this way being to be similar to the female gong? I don't know if the wider end is making the difference, but I dig it.

After only finding male-female and female-female I found this

So, I let my friend borrow my Hammer and this happened.

How might I be able to pull the black ring out? It seems like it's stuck and I can't unscrew the top portion of the Hammer.

Yup, like the others pretty much said you're only 6 screws away from repairing your hammer.

Here is a step by step tutorial on changing out the igniter. Step one pretty much shows how to fix your gasket.

Items you will need:
1. #1 or #0 screw driver (for 10 large screws)
2. #00 screw driver (for 4 small screws)
XiUpTKEl.jpg

1.) Using your larger screw driver. Start by removing these six screws and take off the top portion. (How do you like my high tech. skills here?)

2.) Next the trigger can be removed by pulling up and out.

3.) Using your #00 screw driver take out the four screws holding the "heating chamber".

4.) Now you can remove the heating chamber by pulling up.

5.) Next remove these four screws

6.) Using your finger nail separate these two parts carefully.

7.) Here is where you want to take care not to lose any pieces.
Pull off the front.

8.) Next remove the back

9.) You can now remove the igniter and "torch head" from the fuel tank.

10.) Straighten the igniter so it can be slid out of the "torch head"

11.) Remove igniter
ltBDUVKl.jpg

12.) I don't know if your new igniter will have these but if not you will want to swap these little "sleeves" before you re-install the igniter.

13.) With your igniter re-installed in the torch head you can now reverse the process and once again enjoy The Hammer.

Oh shit:doh:! I just noticed I forgot an to include an important step for The Hammer igniter replacement.

Upon re-assembly of The Hammer do not straighten the igniter (Image 1) until the "middle housing" with the four screws (Image 2) has been assembled.

Sorry it took 15 17 photos but I didn't want to leave anything out even though I tried to simplify it the best I could.

Happy Vaping!!!

does anyone know if the nylon UD stems fit the hammer? If not a tnt might be good. they work with water pieces too right? I'd want it to fit both my UD and hammer though. Anyone have UD or log vape that the stem also works with?

I got rid of the old silicone, so now I use the mflb tubing for ud glass stems :/

@paytonpenn do you have your hammer pro turned up in any way? I'm curious as I get good results with mine thru water but you seem to get an almost instantaneous burst of vapor and it states that no preheating was done..mine is Def less than 30 seconds but it's slow building milk in the bubbler..yours is like boom..

Yes. Are you speaking about my oil video. I boosted my internal dial. At 90% and above it has a tendency to blow out since its so high. I remember the early Hammer days I had much higher heat up times compared to the recent videos.

I normally utilize that first wispy hit for flavor.

Helped my buddy get a Hammer Pro thanks to @Philreal187! (bud's a member here too but not very active). Anyway it came yesterday and already he's a master with it, pulling great hits with Ed's stem or the GonG (tried it out with my GB187, inline honeycomb, and straight tube icecatch bong).

I had a bit more trouble bc I always use my nose to inhale as I'm hitting, that technique has helped me a lot with mastering pure convection vaping... But here it is a no-no unless you want a nice dose of butane with the hit. Oddly it actually smells kind of good lol, but I know its bad. Best way was for me to hold my nose, only a couple times I was able to not smell while hitting, tough for me. Holding nose also restricts my airflow bc of weaker lungs. I still got some great hits though, dry and mostly through water, this thing definitely hits like a beast. Very Daisy/Lily meets Underdog in its powerful vapor signature, as expected.

The one real negative aside from the smell (which is just me, and maybe I'll get better like I did with Daisy which was tough for me when he first got it, first butane vape we used, course now I have my own Lily), is the long heat up. But maybe my friend will develop better techniques for that as well, its only been one day and I'd say that one day was quite successful considering so things should only improve from here

How bad is the heatup and where is the dial set for it? I normally just have the butane away from me while I hit and let off the heater a few seconds in the hit. I also like to have my dial high for the heat up and reduce for hits.

Conduction will give you a quicker heatup and stonier high if you're will to try but it's a harder curve.

Just a 30sec ish preheat I think? After big 90sec for session start. Tried a variety of settings, medium to medium-high, dial higher was good but risk of scorching too, maybe bc we preheated too long that time? Typically were laying off heat for hits, tried this for smell and even with whip. Whip was great cuz buddy could spark it and I could pull through the bubbler next to him with no smell issue. Since its his I won't get to use it thaaat frequently of course, he's read through the thread though before it came, maybe he'll pop in as well

Do you set the dial down in the middle of the hit? Like high then dial down as you hit? Or for the second hit? That's a good thought

@Shit Snacks glad to hear u and ur buddy r enjoying the hammer. Im pretty sure I was checking the tracking as much as u guys, I was a bit worried sending a used vape and especially used ed stem to the capital. But everything worked out well.

My best advice to avoid inhaling butane is when on a water tool face the exhaust outwards away from ur face. And also the under dog mini whip with the glass stems works great at creating a distance from ur face and the exhaust.

Thanks for the quick purchase and hope it treats ur buddy well for a long time!!!

Its hard to turn the dial while the flame is lit. I adjust on the second hit but only if it was heated well enough. I did some testing and 30 seconds seems reasonable if you were looking for a cloudy hit, after 40 it seems like it would be too high and risky. I normally dedicate 20 seconds of preheating for a light first hit but hold the button for 5 to 10 seconds while drawing. After that its 3-7 second preheats and the hits just keep getting bigger.

If you are good with your airflow you'd be able to allow the temp to boost while heating to help extract it faster. This was done in my 38 second session video. It seems you can't make it heat it up faster but at 10 seconds seems should be in low temps for vaping, 15 brings the vapor, 20 brings the clouds and 25+ brings the milk. But also my Hammer has the internal dial at what is probably the highest it should be.

Oh come on bro, DC is recreationally legal now (somehow), my buddy and his roommate always remind me :o:ko::tup:

Ah yeah @paytonpenn, that makes sense. I didn't think our experience was unique, but maybe he'll tune it higher (it is already tuned up a bit by Phil. Still early ofcourse, but I was telling him more back to back hits probably wouldnt need full preheat (like Zion and its own heat soaking), but we were hitting it more couple hits on demand vs sessioned bc damn the hits are indeed quite nice and heavy. I think in that sense initial heat up is still much longer than say my Zion and our old T1s, or the instant he gets from Daisy (and his smoking obv:puke:). He is considering if Hammer can become his DD for the future, but we will see how he feels after more time. Thanks again for the input payt! When he bought it I told him to check out your stuff in particular bc I know how you feel about your own Hammer...
