Increase in heart rate

Man, I love the threads that get rolling here...

Increased heart rate is completely normal after any cannabis consumption.

As the Cannabinoids enter the bloodstream, it causes everything to "relax"

Arteries, veins, vessels etc also relax, causing our Blood Pressure to drop.

The brain recognizes this immediately,in turn it sends "signals" to the heart to kick it up a notch to compensate for the drop in blood pressure.

As far as I'm concerned, it is actually beneficial, particularly for those of us that can't really raise our heart rate through traditional excercising.

Unless the increase is caused by a dip in blood oxygen? I've been keeping an eye on my spO2 for a while now, and have been correlating (not accurately, just for anecdotal) excessive vaping with a lower spO2. I'm also wondering if 'resin' coating the lungs could have this effect.

I notice that my heart rate is increased by about 10 beats per minute when I vape. I wear a fitness tracker with a heart rate monitor in general so it was easy to spot.

Good post, and you beat me to it. Dropping BP is the reason.

I used to feel my heart thumping at times before I vaped exclusively, but since, only when I vape AND eat medibles. I did get checked out a few years back after several episodes, but everything came back fine. But since vaping exclusively it happens very rarely.

So if you were to read many anti drug websites one of the bad points of cannabis (as well as other drugs) is the increase in heart rate, the one I just read said between 20%-100% higher than normal.

Can anyone with more understanding explain if this is true, and if having a higher heart rate for long periods of time is bad.

The increase in heart rate is a normal side effect of cannabis. My heart pounds hard after just a few hits.

This video explains the reason why better than I can.
