Discontinued Haze Dual V3

Hey all normally I only use the cans but lately I've been hooked on the conduction screens. They are a bit messier than the cans or even the convection screens but boy do they produce. When I switched back to the cans for convenience I was a little shocked how different it was. If your looking for throat hit and big clouds conduction screens is where its at in my opinion at least. I still use the cans everyday but I usually load the conduction screens up first. After they brown I throw some cans in for on the go. I never liked them at first simply because its more work but its worth the effort.!!!!!

Those are my personal favorite for straight flower. They are messier and stain the chambers faster but the flavor, warm up time and clouds are all better. It's pretty handy to be able to pack them and a couple of backup cans and be on your way.

Very excited to see what's in store with the V3! Soon, I suspect :D

I heard that there are several improvements based on our feedback but very curious to see what they are. @scottg402 , are you guys seeing increase on PIF program enrollments since V3 is around the corner? I already used the program twice in the past and that would be nice of you guys to share info here in terms of who is benefiting from the donated units. I know that @Vitolo is managing the program but if you have any information, please share with us. It would be nice to know that these donations are touching some lifes out there.

Today I was in contact with Haze to let them know I would not be able to receive Units for the upcoming period of time...
Not sure how long that is, but the proceedings that approach require my full energy and attention.
Distraction from this harsh reality will help nobody.. especially my family.
Prior to today, I resumed activity briefly, but it is physically difficult for me to move about in the community, and we have been too upset to have people here at home.
When I am able, I will discuss this further.
For now it is break time.
BUT...
I will happily report the following:
While the police :shit: took a number of Haze Vaporizers from our home, we managed to get 23 of them into homes before that happened.
I apologize for not reporting back with this information in the PIF (paying it forward) thread, but I am sure you all know what has happened here.
The most interesting Haze Placement went to a man with arthritic condition in his hands. His hands twisted so badly that it takes both hands to hold a drinking glass... yet he manages to work with the Haze and its various components easily, due to his fascination with this technology.
On the Haze PIF (upgrade) page, you will see images of two other Haze users that reaped the benefits of the Upgrade program's (and it participant's) huge generosity.
Among the recipients are three chemo patients, that never go to sessions without bringing the Haze with them.
All three are still using their units. One is about to be dismissed from Chemo, and will keep using her Haze.
Spinal arthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis plague two other patients.
A Haze recipient that I saw most often has crippling Crohn's disease, and uses the various modes of use of the Haze, almost in immediate rotation! (wax/flower/ejuice).
My attention has been seriously divided, preventing me from posting wordy accounts.
My health has suffered, as has my wife Patty's, and we are both disabled now in a different way... one of tears and fears, and looking over our shoulders.
The last two Haze placements were done after the incident.
I did not have these patients at our home, but rather went into the field to train and deliver to the recipients.
One is a robust young man that is paralyzed from the waist down.
The other is a Veteran of Foreign war.. A vietNam vet that lives in a wheelchair. He is blind in one eye, deaf in one ear and has a paralyzed left side, due to an exploding mine. This is only a part of his trouble...
He was exposed to agent Orange in 1969. He now also has a double whammy... Hodgkin's Disease and Parkinson's Disease, both described by Doctor's and the VA as being a result of his exposure to the chemical Agent Orange (dioxin).

We were proud to help these last two patients, but sadly we are now severely limited.
Patty lost her job when her employer learned of our situation, and has no income, and We had to limit the miles traveled, in that the cost of maintaining gas in car must be strictly saved for attorney visits.

It is my prayer to resume this work at the end of the dark tunnel.
In the meanwhile, the Haze Upgrade program continues, and Haze will hold onto the units received, as the program participants trade up their units for newer upgraded Vaporizers.
I will be in contact with Haze when it is again a safe environment for us to live and work in.
Much love to all Haze users that inhabit this thread.

Much love to you @Vitolo! Thank you for sharing all of this. I know things must be hard to discuss sometimes so the detail is much appreiciated.

I think I speak for everyone here on the thread when I say that we are praying for you to get through all of this as quickly and painless as possible.

Maybe one day things will change in our legal system but for now all we can do is pray you make it through this alright.

As always let us know how we can help and give @PattyVapes a hug from all of us!

To the rest of the Haze family, have no fear. The upgrade program will continue and we will hold these units until we find a suitable recipient. Hopefully that is through Vitolo once again but if he finds himself in a posiition where he can't I will make it my mission to team up with another kind soul such as Vitolo.

As if they wasn't enough reason to support Haze, I just wanted to let you guys and gals know that they've knocked my socks yet again with their customer service. I'll go into more detail when the time is right, but for now I'll just say that they've got my enthusiastic recommendation!

I'm so sorry. I was going to send you my retired and barely used vapes if I could get over my laziness. I'll hold them until things change. You and Patty are such generous people. It's hard to understand the place that fired someone like Patty. I wish you well.

Best wishes, Vitolo. I'm pullin' for you, too. What you've done has helped many good people and it's sure not lost on us.

To all: I haven't provided an update on my observations regarding my Haze 2.5 in a long while.

I want to start by saying: To me, it's all positive. This post is too long and that covers it so I suggest you scroll out of this now. Verbosity is a typical problem for people who type fast.

Details follow if you want the long read:

My Haze was purchased in Massdrop some time ago and it may not be as fast as some Hazes.

But I'm good with it. Very good.

Ok, if you're still with me, please allow me to elaborate: I use only concentrates from Botanico in Denver. I have to drive a very long way to get there so when I go, I get at least 7g of 'trates.

First off, I'm a lightweight, not a hardcore stoner. But even still, I'm tickled with how long the 'trates are lasting. Way longer than expected. I thought what I bought last time would last 1 or 2 months max but yet here I am at 3+ months with half of it still left over.

It varies, but a Haze can of shatter or bud shatter lasts a long time. Waxes don't last as long but for some reason seem to hit harder - at least first session. Some hit this lightweight hard enough to cause coughing or sometimes choking.

I've been using an egg timer because my particular Haze is kinda' slow compared with other reports.

It goes something like this:

A can of wax may "only" take 2 minutes to get really intense. Whereas, a really dense shatter like MK Ultra may take 3 minutes first 2 sessions... then 4 minutes for the remaining 3 or 4 sessions.

To be clear: Those times are from the second I flip the switch on the Haze to when I'm exhaling hazy clouds. And I'm only using the full power setting these days - aka, all 4 lights on.

This thing can get me really stoned. Too stoned a couple of times but I try to keep it real.

I've personally been soaking the silicone lids in a small jar of Dawn and water. I've been soaking the cans in Everclear 190 to clean them and then using the EC190 thereafter (after it is thoroughly saturated with leftovers) as a tincture. I've taken the first small jar of EC190 and am using it as a tincture to help keep me asleep after the Haze puts me out for the night. Obviously, I thoroughly rinse both the soaked/cleaned lids and cans and dry them before further use. I'm thankful that both clean themselves, really, with just some soaking over time. I probably only needed 4 or 5 sets but have more so they have way more soaking time than they really need. For my usage, at least.

My Haze mustn't be combusting anything since the resulting tincture (the EC190 used to clean the cans) isn't bitter or burnt tasting at all. 13 drops of the tincture mixed into a quarter cup of water each night is mild tasting but very effective.

In that regard, the Haze has been a godsend. I'm a multi-trauma survivor and have suffered decades of insomnia. But no more and that is because of the Haze.

Depending on how new or old the 'trate in the can is, 2 to 4 five second pulls and I'm stoned silly, loving life and ready to sleep and dream blissful stoner dreams.

The Haze and the cleaner EC190 tincture have improved my quality of life significantly. Being able to sleep full nights is amazing. Sleep deprivation is bloody murder and I'm darned glad I've finally been gifted with a way to beat it. For the past months I've expected the sleep problems to come back but it hasn't happened. Whereas Ambien only worked for me for 1 month, MJ 'trates and the Haze 2.5 remain effective night after night and I've noticed no diminution yet whatsoever.

My area is overrun with bugs due to way too much precip so I'm holding off on growing and this site doesn't tolerate growing info in the first place so enough said on that.

At any event, I'm super happy with my Haze.

With these 'trates, I don't clean my Haze nearly often enough. I need to do better yet I've not seen the first sign of problems. The switch lever doesn't stick, the oven cover doesn't stick, everything is working just amazing.

Tonight's 'trate will be more from Botanico: Blue Dream x Chem 4. Might be a little lively for sleep but I already know that if I get stoned properly, I'll sleep eventually even if I giggle myself to sleep. Ok, TMI, I know.

What about tolerance? Maybe I'm not using enough for this to be relevant but I haven't seen the first sign of building up any tolerance. In fact, I'm using less now than I was 2 months ago. Admittedly not stoned out of my gourd but it'll do very nicely.

Pardon the ramble; I'm blaming the weed of course.

edit: A couple of notes on the batteries: The upgrade batteries from Haze heat the 'trates faster and will last more sessions. Not surprised there, really. The stock batteries may only really kick the 'trates 2 sessions before the haze is starting to get a bit weak. That's not a criticism; my understanding is that 'trates take a lot more power to heat than herb. Can't swear to it; only saying what I read.

Significant difference in my experience between the stock and upgrade batteries. I continue to use both; I've just adjusted my expectations with the stockers.

2nd edit: Talking about using good 'trates mostly for sleep probably sounds dull. But not to chronic insomniacs! I have some sativa 'trates that I've tried during the day somewhat and will probably transition more to those in the future. However, if you're familiar with Maslow's hierarchy of needs, sleep is pretty high on the list when ya' can't get much. Other interests can follow only after survival needs are met. ;-)

Hey, scottg402: Congrats on your successes and contributions with Haze! Great company IMHO.

Respectfully submitted,

Micke

Thanks so much @Micke! And thanks for sharing your experience. It really puts a smile on my face to know our device is helping people.

I also appreciate the feedback. I certainly provide plenty but it really helps us get better when others give their candid experience. We love the comments, good or bad. It's helped shape us into the company we are today and will shape where we go in the future.

Just double checking: It's ok to wait until the V3 comes out to join the upgrade program?

Also, I can't find a serial number on my Haze. Where exactly is it located?

I've never had problems with mine. I use the stock batteries but always have 1 charging so there is no wait time when the battery in use fades.

You can join at any time because doing so will guarantee that you have the latest version. S/n should be under the battery door.

@Chandlerson - the haze 2.5 does best when fully packed, but I would often do .1 and under with the conduction screens to great effect (well packed). On 3, you get a wispy but flavorful hit or two as is finishes warming up, 3+- solid hits, and 2+ milky but less tasty hits as it crisps. This is based off running it through water with dry material. If you were just using the mouthpiece dry, you'd get more hits. All told, I'm good to go when done

I too had pretty bad insomnia. I have to trade different indica and hybrid strains in order to keep working. I especially love Endless Sky, Blue Dream, and Afghani with my Haze set on 3 about an hour before bedtime. I'm worried now that Washington state has tighten down it's medical I won't be able to get a card next time. Not any strain works to keep me asleep. Sleep is so imperative for a person's over all health. I was going for 7 years with an average of 4.5 hours asleep at night, not straight sleep, usually sleeping 2 hours then waking every hour and staying awake from there. The Haze and different cannabis strains has been a Goddess send.

VAS has got me thinking it would be a great idea to buy this vape immediately....go figure :argh:. Must resist :bang:
What's the efficiency like? Would less then .1 on level 3 or 4 get a low tolerance user very high?subjective but still :suspicious:

Chandlerson, with wax or shatter, I usually put in about .15 to .2 and that lasts between 2 and 6 sessions. 2 or 3 with wax, usually 4 or 5 with good shatter; sometimes I can stretch that to 6 although sometimes the 6th can be kind of weak. I get pretty 'Hazed' :science: [baked] in most of these sessions just because I like it. But again, I'm a lightweight with mj and not a seasoned veteran.

If a can of shatter lasts 6 sessions, it usually has little or no taste or throat sensation on sessions 5 and 6. I'm fine with that; others may switch out the can earlier to get the taste, I don't know.

It's my only vape and serves me very well. I've not tried my Haze with dry herb so I can't comment on that.

Some customer feedback suggests that Botanico's 'trates are pretty potent but I've not tried anywhere else to compare so I don't know on that. Without direct comparison, I don't know if the above is typical for concentrates in a Haze device or not. Other input invited of course.

Update on the elbow mod for concentrate usage:

I took a Haze SS mouthpiece, heated it with an oxy/acetylene rig and bent it into an elbow. Slid a (very cool) NuSONG on that as an adapter that nicely fits a Pinnacle micro bubbler. This is so I can easily hold my Haze level without spilling the bubbler or the concentrate.

Haze in left hand, Pinnacle mini in right hand. I rest the Pinnacle against the NuSONG only just as I'm taking a hit - although, the Haze will sit on a table fairly securely with the Pinnacle sitting in place.

It takes minimal care in use and works well to prevent spilling concentrates out of the cans without using up wick pads.

I haven't used any pads and no spills. (yet)

The elbow can't be stored inside the Haze, obviously.

OK - FINALLY finished reading this thread, from page 1 to here! I didn't want to ask my questions until I had read the entire thread first. Some of the comments/questions have been addressed in one way or another, but I see varying answers. So - here goes:

First, I purchased my Haze back in October of 2014, it is a V2 I believe (SS chamber covers, lights don't blink when you take a hit, etc.) But due to being in a bad car accident, I haven't really been able to try it out until the last month or so. I was going to upgrade to the V2.5, but I have been led to believe from an email that early next week there will be an official announcement on the V3, so I'll wait and upgrade when it is out.

My experience in Vapes - Magic Flight Box (liked it) - Buddha (like it but obviously not portable so use is limited) - Pax (really wanted to like it, but for various reasons it just felt like form over function for me and didn't work as well as I wanted.) and now the Haze. My questions:

1. I only use herbs. I use a 5 piece space grinder, but I don't feel the grind is very much more than "moderate" and I have some herb I ran through a coffee grinder that is obviously quite fine. (BTW - when I see the keef left behind, I try to get it but can't get it all, on the grinder blades, etc. I wonder if I'm losing some "strength" in the coffee ground herb?) Which is truly the recommended for the Haze?

2. I'm torn between the conduction screens and the cans. I love the ease of use and clean up of the cans. But I read a lot of people saying they get bigger hits from the conduction screens. It's just more of a pain to refill both chambers again in the same session using the conduction screens, and of course more of a mess in the heating chamber. But I'll put up with that IF the concensus is that you get more "effect" from the herb with the conduction screens?

3. On the cans: I've used them for several sessions, maybe 10 at this point? But without a doubt, one of the cans (and I assume it's the lid) is giving me a nasty plastic additives taste. Enough that it's hard to get out of my mouth. Apparentlt only one of the two, however. I know, it's silicone rubber, etc. - my Ph.D. is polymer chemisty, so I not only know the composition but also how to synthesize it and scale it up into a production plant and the various additives used in different silicones. So maybe this isn't a question so much as a comment. I know 99% of people aren't reporting this so I assume I may just have a lid with something funky going on with the additives in it. I'll see if have the issues with V3 cans/lids.

4. Re: the cans - so, fill it up to about the bottom of the cut-out on side of the can opposite the tab? Should the lid be flush with the top of the can or a bit above the top edge of the cans? I seem to get very variable results in terms of vapor production (V2 , using power levels 3 and the up to 4 to finish it.)

Thanks for ALL the input here. Been fun reading, in one sitdown, the journey from page 1 of this thread to today!

Holy S#!t thats alot of reading. I found that the lids kinda do add a slight taste at times. I find this more tho when the lids should be replaced or very hot. As far as the grind goes I use a 4 piece small space case and I flip it upside down to grind a bit before finishing the grind right side up. This gives me a perfect grind.
On to the conduction screens I fill two up first then switch to cans unless I want another two conduction screen bowls then I just stick with them.
It all depends on your mood this thing is so versatile
Also I think V3 will fix most major problems IE the switch.

I hope some of this helps @fudpucker

I get the same weird taste when using cans with the silicone on top.
