@OF bent stock stem working nice...

A solo day. That mystery charger was from puffitup, mistakenly ordered, but charging swimmingly. Not trying pass thru, but at least I have a use for it.

Rise and shine Soloists, starting my Solo flight a little early. Using some Jasmine Strain it's supposed to be a good one for day. It's was suppose to be a Sativa Hybrid. I saw online its an Indica, I'm hurting but need to get some things done today.

My hand made wooden stash box. It doesnt have a smell of cannabis either. The lid piece slips on and it's hard to figure out how to open. It's like a secret lid.

EDIT
I just thought of some nostalgia remember when we referred to as ounce as a lid.
I have my @Pipes Solo stand. No chips no stress.

when we were kids we used to buy and sell "lids", or a "dimebag" for $10, a "nickel" was a $5 bag (about five doobs).... yeah, those were the days!

Enjoy your Solo early start CK (same initials as my cousin who was killed on 911, as is Calvin Klein :myday:), I'm about to start mine. I think tonight might be three strains and 10 stems! Love the stash box with secret lid!

Did a bowl of jedi og with my old Solo yesterday with a friend (who I sold it to) and a bent stem. Very nice.

He was complaining about it swiveling so I guess I will get him set up with the o-ring I have. But I explained that it will probably make it chip around the screws more.

Back in brooklyn in the 70's, when @CarolKing was cranking out the hits (I Feel the Earth Move!), my friends and I would be "fronted" pot from some of the older guys. We'd get a 1/4 pound for a couple of hundred bucks and sell it in nickel and dime bags (lids). For whatever reason, a ten dollar bag was a lid, never even thought to question it. An ounce was an ounce, and God only knew about grams then. I didn't learn an oz was 28 grams until chemistry class.

Near the Ocean where I grew up
1 lid or 1 oz would last from Monday through Friday. For the week-end it was a different batch. THAI STICKS were for the week-ends. (70's)

If I had a SOLO my consumption would have been less!

Remember in the old days all the seeds late 70s early 80s. As soon as I would get my cannabis I would separate all the seed out. Use my fingers to prepare the cannabis for rolling joints. I had a roller and usually rolled it all into joints. Later on when cannabis was higher quality and more expensive I used a little pipe. I and the Mr. Went through 2 ounces sometimes in a month.

Thank goodness the art of using cannabis has advanced to where it is today. I use other vaporizers but I have a soft spot for my Solos. It really can do it all. A great vaporizer to cut the cord with and at a good price. PIU will set you up, just talk with Randy.

Pretty much ditto, here, @Bravesst. Bought and sold quarter lbs. to have some free personal herbal remedy. Never quite worked out to be entirely free 'cause I'd be out of my allotted free stuff before I got rid of the 3 oz's I'd have to sell to earn the free oz.

By the time I was far enough into my affair to want to deal a little, it was nickel bags (one finger across the bottom of a baggie), dime bags (two fingers), lids (three fingers) and an oz (four fingers). Of course scales were useful, too. By then (mid 70's) inflation had gotten the better of the original numerical nomenclature (nickel = $5) . I'd buy a quarter for $120 and hope to convert it into $160 ($40 / oz.) minus my personal take. So a nickel was $10, a dime $20 and a lid $30.

Did I say I can imagine myself owning a Solo someday?

Carol, I was cleaning "regs" up until two years ago. I hate shitty pot - ick!!! And yeah, Thai Sticks were my first exposure to really good weed. Would actually come wrapped around a stick, much more like today's herb than the commercial crap (skunk weed, dirt pot, earth weed, Jamaican, Mexican, was the really crappy pot of the 70's) We'd also classify by color, gold, red, brown (anything green sucked). Gold was great (but seedy), and Red was "laughing pot".... I wonder what was really going on inside that herb THC wise.

And go to Randy for a Solo (or Air), and be sure to charge for hours the first time!!!

MMMMMM. I remember those. I crack up when I hear the old BS about todays' pot is not like your father's pot argument. Back then, good stuff was available, but most people went for larger quantity over quality instead.

While there were exceptional strains 'in the day', I think the very best of them wouldn't make the cut to top shelf today......by a long way? THC levels were sub 10% for the most part and came 'full of stems and seeds' compared to today's offerings. Hash was not as 'nice' as well I think.

I miss the Red, Gold, Sticks, Temple Balls and the rest, but they were sure rare treats where I was.

IMO the Northern California growers showed us how to grow and the Dutch have pointed to what to grow. Today we can have routine access to many exciting strains not even dreamed of when I was young.

We can thank the cannabis pioneers for the herb we enjoy and medicate today. Many of you may be those pioneers. I remember the thai sticks. Didn't come around very often. I have that little jingle in my head I think it was Cheech and Chong. "No stems or seed that you don't need - Acapulco Gold."I don't think I've ever had any of that. I've had some of the older strains like Maui Wowi.

Anyway the Solo can do it all. Thanks to all the vaporizer pioneers too.

The Solo started with a lot of issues, the company was able to weather the storm and were stronger for it. The Solo is made well with excellent materials, we see very few faulty units. It will last the owner a long time. I refer it as the tank of portables.

I believe HAWAII was so far ahead of the curve. We had COLAS bigger than thighs. No Seeds or Stems. The rest was sent to the mainland. (2nd's)

A SOLO would have been useful!

you guys are right, most of the weed on the streets on NYC in the 70's sucked. Sometimes you get some really sweet, but super seedy Gold, or good Red, but Thai sticks were rare. Then there was sensimilia (spelling). I'm sure you guys know the history behind it, but it was better the regular "commercial" shit we had. One New Years eve, we smoked an entire ounce between 3 people!

Imagine doing that with a good strain in a solo.....

THAI STICKS were in big supply for us!

A SOLO would have been perfect!
