Goodbye old friend

BabyFacedFinster

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I am posting my farewell to my dearly departed couch. My wife and I bought the sofa when we were still dating...about 12 years ago. I loved that couch from day one. It was big and wide and my ass settled in nicely.

I nursed a busted knee in that couch for 3 weeks once. I held my boys when they were babies in that couch. I watched a lot of movies, stoned off my ass in that couch. We had been through a lot together.

A sofa should never be sat on for enjoyment. A sofa must always be lied on. Thus a good sofa must conform to the entire body. That old couch was the ying to my yang.

Today I dragged it to the dump and tossed its ragged body to the curb. I showed no emotion as I had to separate myself from the deed. I can only now reflect back. We carted the new sofa home from the outlet store today and I am lying on it now. It looks good, but it no where as comfortable as that old couch. I'm sure it needs to settle in, but I want that old feel back.

Farewell old friend :ugh:

It sounds like you had a really good run w/ the old couch
Good luck getting the replacement broken in...

I can't help but think of The Simpsons and the bond Homer had w/ his couch :D It reminds me of that episode where Homer loses his ass groove on his old couch and has to work it back in :spliff:
