I was thinking about getting a Buddha or solo
Although I have not tried the Solo, I will confidently say that my purchase of my Buddha has completely satisfied every expectation and has gone above and beyond said preconceived expectations.

I refuse to put my precious Cannabis in anything other than my beloved DBV..
That being said; I just recently dived into the proverbial pool of Vapor.

Not sure about the warranty on the Solo, but 7th Floor offers a 3 year warranty, following the 3 years, they will repair ANY issues that may occur.

"25$ flat fee for repair, even if the unit has been run over by a tank"

^^That speaks volumes regarding the confidence that went into the engineering of their product.

Good luck in your decision either way. Keep us updated with your decision. ..
I am however biased towards 7th Floor though. .. They are right around the corner from my house.

G'day DBV Club:D

As my Screen Name implies, I love my Bubble Hash and isolated Capitate Glandular Resin Heads.

I used to use my D-Nail or my HE Ti Domeless Oil pan to dab it directly off the nail.(Both of these were gifted to me, as I'm disabled, and cannot afford such toys, I just make Hash for them, using their trim/material.)

But since acquiring my DBV the D-Nail and my Grav Labs oil rig is collecting lots 'o dust.

I never thought my Hash could taste better than these two Routes of Administration, but Da Buddha reigns supreme.

I've been using very small pinches of the Hash atop a screen of green, when the hash melts into the Herb, the session seems to last forever...

Draw after draw of delicious bliss, I try to count how many draws I get in relation to the amount of input material , but damn ... I'm annihilated by draw #4 most of the time, and ALWAYS lose track after 8..

I've even tried making rudimentary marks to keep track, but even those get forgotten after the 8th draw... >.

Usually my load looks a bit like this

But, I just finished drying and curing my latest batch 'o Bubble, and I always tend to get carried away when the Hash jar is full after replenishing my stash... So I put a rather large chunk atop a larger "Green Screen " (usually 0.1 or less)

Anyhoo.....
Last nights ' sesh was incredible, the Terpene profile was off the charts... And Holy Hell, I was HIGH .

This Vaporizer is continuing to blow me away night after night.

As a matter of fact, I was at a social gathering last night, and I talked with two different guys about the benefits of vaping..

Both guys said they were going to buy a DBV on my recommendation.

I fuckin love this device.

Just wanted to share my experience in utilizing Hash in the DBV... It is nothing short of epic.

Hehe, I've vaped about 1.4 grams of hash and lots of kief..... Can't wait to collect my Wand Hash.:brow::nod::rockon:

Welcome to FC, and Welcome to Da Buddha Club!! :D

The DBV is a fantastic First Desktop Vaporizer...you've made a very wise investment!

As far as some "Training " I recommend turning your temp dial to the 2 o'clock position to start, and play around with your draw speed. (How hard and how fast you draw on your whip)

I'm still practicing different temperatures, and draw speeds, and have LOVED every single session I've had with my buddy, Da Buddha:)

I personally like to start at the 12 o'clock position, and increase to 2 o'clock to finish, the higher you go on the temperature dial, you should increase your draw speed.

The same goes for lower temperatures, the lower the temperature, slow down your draw.

Hope this helps...
You are going to love this Vaporizer.

To post pictures from your phone, you need to use an imaging hosting website like Photobucket, Imugur, or Flicker.
Upload your photos to the Website, and copy and Paste the IMG Code into the text field.

I'm about to start my Friday with some Blue Dream..
Tastes exactly like fresh baked Blueberry Muffins.:mmmm:

Happy Friday FC!

Hey Ht46&2!

Very glad to be in the Club :D

First time i´ve tried, i had to turn the power full on to vape
but i like to have a little power more to play around (you will know better)

I have the knob turned so that 6 is Off , after the click it´s on 8 and 4 is the hottest position.
A few hours ago i set the keramik-heater a little higher, now i will try the result
and get me a little higher

Thanks for explicitly answer, very nice
Have a nice weekend,
daB

I've owned the DBV for a few weeks now, and I think I've finally hit a golden range for how to get smooth vapor. I don't know about anyone else's model, but I think my unit gets extremely hot extremely fast. A 3 on my DBV would guarantee some burning of material, especially after waiting 30 seconds for the unit to adjust to the changed higher temperature from a lower one.

I like hitting at the following ranges (relatively speaking, since the knob is basically a single line pointing outwards with no temperature numbers or displays, etc.):

11, 12, 12:30, 1:30

However, I see so many posts on this site that recommend starting at 2 and moving on to 3, which is what I find fascinating about how each individual unit may differ from each other. Then I realize, perhaps it is because their models adjust over a fixed time period, resulting in the element needing to be set at a higher temperature because the inner material of the heating element is slowly degrading? Unsure really.

My sweet spot on the dial is similar to yours. I find the best flavor at lower temp. Draw speed also affects heat. Slow draw is hotter. Different temps are a matter of personal preferance, not heater degradation. In my experience with five 7th floor products they are fairly consistent in performance. I wouldnt worry about that ceramic rod "degrading" any time soon. I read they had one turned on for years in the factory and said the switch would fail from turning it on and off before the heating element.

It is an analog devise in a digital world.
Instead of "fine tuning" each one, 7th floor allows you to set yours to your taste. The build is like a tank. Very basic but you cab either mess with the mechanics of unit (raise or lower heating element) or change a different variable. (Draw speed, pack of whip, amount used)
These choices allow for a great warranty ($25 plus postage they will rebuild any unit) Most problems are solved by "Turn it down or up)

Hey guys,

I've had a DBV for years but never really got the hang of it. I want to give it another go because I think my biggest problem was with the whip, too hard to sense temperature maybe. Never got along with the horizontal heater cover either, the weed just keeps falling to the bottom <_<.

Is it possible to use the DBV direct draw through the wand after removing the whip? I am imagining using it like a superpowered log vape if you can picture it. Will be a bit bulky but should hit like a freight train. Would have to start really low temps to avoid scorching my throat maybe...

Yes indeed, direct draws from the wand are most definitely doable, and in fact provides loads of flavor.

I put a Door Stopper underneath my DBV, so the Vape & Heater Cover point downwards in a 45 degree angle.

(I swear it hits better this way too, aside from replicating the SSV's angle, I have done rudimentary experiments, and I can get better, smoother draws having it angled vs. the stock 90 degree angle)

I also recall one of the guys on this thread using the LSV's Transfer Wand as opposed to the the whip/ wand setup.

This would be ideal in removing the whip from the equation.

I applaud you for giving it another shot, I can't get over how much I love this Vape.
:peace:

Good idea with angling it on a stand or something. I might try shortening the whip as well to see if that works better for me. Just always found the whip very cumbersome.

If the wand direct draw works well I may get a transfer wand to try.

I've had the DBV since 2010 maybe and have used it maybe like 5 times tops. I didn't really give it a fair go but now I'm a bit more experienced at vaping I think I will be able to conquer it!

If youre working off the standard 3 foot whip, then yes, it's too long IMO. 2 feet is plenty. The standard wand directly might be a little hot, so you'll probably be using lower temps. Otherwise, it should work something like the LSV, just a little more awkward. Give it a go, and let is know how it works out.

Hello fc I think I may have run into a problem just need your expertise! I purchased my Dbv off of ebay recently it and it only came with the heat cover. Now I'm not sure if this is normal but mine seems to slip all the way down to the screws and fits extremely loose. The heating element is actually touching/ holding up the cover.

Hmm might be missing the heat cover stand.. Do they even sell these seperately? And would I need the shims or the retention clip. Thank you

you should be able to just adjust the heating element so that it doesn't touch top of HC. I would order a HC clip though, or possibly try and fashion one out of a piece of wire, just to stop HC toppling when inserting and removing wand. Congrats on an awesome choice, shame was missing a piece

You're missing the clip that holds the heater cover in place. I don't think they sell them separately but cs may help you out. I'm still yet to have a good cs experience with 7th floor ... hopefully yours is better. It's super easy to install the clip if they send you one. It's held in place with 2 of the 3 screws surrounding the heating element.

Just ordered one of these bad boys off of Toronto Vaporizer. After currency conversion, $131 USD for the black model with free shipping and free 4pc grinder. Also ordered an already-made custom knob from 7th Floor's website to spice things up.

Considering a spherical glass set up -- has anyone done that with the DBV yet? If I go for that, I'd end up spending roughly the same amount as a new SSV. But I can't complain. While I do love the angle of the SSV, I like that the DBV has both the knob and heating element on the front.

If you can afford it I like extra whips for company. Not necessary but it forces the responsibility for "How High?" onto each user.

Hey guys just a question on airflow. I recently had to jury rig a shim for my da buddha using titanium wire(7th floor mentioned them being available soon for purchase) It isn't air tight but fairly close. If I put my finger on the carb that's on the hc and inhale through the whip it has little to no airflow. So it is close but not close enough. Wonder if it's worth it to try. I'm thinking because it's pulling air through the carb and the bottom that it will cool the air too much and force me to use unusually high temps resulting in wasted buds(wand hash). Care to share oppinions/ knowledge?

1/3 bowls. I start at 3 to warm it up, then leave it on 10-30-11. I tried to find a bud that would vape well. Found some really potent shark shock(really skunky and makes you wanna sneeze) that is perfect I think. I'm planning to buy a ssv wand but I had to suffice and buy a hotbox wand locally to test it. The vapor is great w/ slow draws you can really see the thc collecting on the wand. I saved the bud I had on 11 because it looked
Perfectly uncooked if that makes sense. Then. I mix a bit more fresh herb and start at 12 then finish and 1 -30 (berenstein brown).

Sounds like your airflow is fine and youre retaining heat pretty well, so your shim is doing its job. The ceramic rod will heat the air inside the heater cover as you inhale and a little extra airflow through the bottom shouldnt make a big difference. Do you have a pic of your hotbox wand?
