Thanks to all who became lifetime customers of RastaBuddhaTao! As the sale comes to a close the last Beta unit is shipping and the production material is starting to roll in. All of the hard work of the beta team is beginning to materialize in the kick-off of the production build. This is a milestone moment and I would like to take a moment to raise a figurative glass to all of FC especially a highly skilled beta team for making this a success. Ladies and gentlemen, let's go build some Zion's!

Well, now that the sale is over, I thought you guys should know that you STILL should buy this vape! At $199 with a three year warranty I am still looking hard for a better buy and can't find it. Before this whole process is over I will convince @RastaBuddhaTao to put the retail price at $250 because it is worth so much more. At $250 I still think it might be the best deal out there. It's not just another vape option, it's what we have been waiting for around here...instant, huge, convection clouds on the road as good as we get plugged in at home. I don't think I've posted in this thread for three days, but I've still been reaching for the Zion that whole time...and that's the ultimate endorsement.

There are a number of vapes that I blew off because I didn't want to dick around with their batteries. What I have discovered, much like @DieHard has, is that it wasn't the batteries but the vapes. This is the first battery powered vape that works well enough that I find myself wanting to dick around with batteries!

So hurry up and get one at $199 before rbt succumbs to me and starts selling it for more.

My FlashVAPEs hate my Zion because they hardly get used anymore—and I love my FVs. I know @RastaBuddhaTao thinks that a stealthy pocket portable is what the market really wants right now and I agree, but I think anyone who really appreciates vapourizing won't be able to resist falling in love with the Zion. It's powerful, extremely versatile, and easy to master.

Here here!!!

$200 is still an amazing price and 3 year warranty more than solid, since it likely won't be needed at all anyway...

If you couldn't decide in time for the sale you're still getting a great deal on an incredible product imo so don't hesitate!

:nod::nod: ^^^ Yep yep yep what these guys just said!

+ @Bongologist - why not just get all your batteries & charger if you need one from our man RBT himself? You know he's gonna be giving you a good deal and he's only gonna see you straight 'cuz he's in this thing for the long haul, and he's right here with us, being a true face & voice in this community representing what he and his team believes in.

And that way you will know that you will definitely get the right batteries . . .

As for male to male GonGs, I think that you really just need to keep on Googling bruv . . . the one I have is probably a bit longer and less stubby than the one you pictured but I happened upon that at my LHS. A little earlier on in the thread @Shit Snacks posted up a list of a few adapters of varying types he'd found online - you may find that usefull if you can find it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply @VegNVape. I have the Air now and was reading about batteries for it on another thread and was just wondering about compatibility. Already have a nitecore charger, just looking at battery options. I would love it if the batteries were interchangeable between the Zion and the Air but it seems non-oem batteries void the warranty by Arizer.

The stem I was looking for is similar to what @Shit Snacks posted earlier. I was hoping to find something with maybe an inch or so of glass between the two connectors.

Ahh well that makes sense. If only ALL other portable vape manufactures stuck to a standard such as replaceable 18650's things would be sooooo much easier eh . . . ?

But stick with RBT's line and and maybe we'll get a step closer to exactly that

Btw, the Black Leaf oil 18mm - 14mm male to male adapter I have probably has about an inch in between the connectors. And I actually think that it may be one of those which SS originally posted up a while ago.

Happy hunting dude

The DHGate included M2Ms are kind of hit or miss. I have 2 of them and both work fine (US joints) but one is about 3 MM longer than the other and works better for me when I am not using a claisen (which makes the length moot).
I ordered a couple custom M2Ms from @Oregonglassblower , and while they are a little pricier, they are, well, Custom. :) So I ordered them an inch longer than his standard length. It is also important to ask Mike for a US joint as his normal joint is the ISO standard. Mine are US on one side and ISO on the other.
I'm sure RBT will put some other custom options in his store, but right now he is getting production Zions out so he's kinda busy... ;) For now we'll have to get them elsewhere.

I thought I read that the Air batteries are custom, so they won't work in the Zion. The Zion uses standard 18650 high output batteries that can be purchased elsewhere, but I ordered mine from RBT to be sure I got what he recommended. There are a lot of different output characteristics to 18650s and I am not an expert, so I played it safe.

Yeah it really is just a search project, it could be out there, or you could have one made locally or by one of our members here...

Battery wise, the ones RBT sells are great, 2900mah authentic LGs, battery life is ridiculous and $40 for two pairs is a fantastic deal imo, even one set for $24 its a lot of battery life for a vape of this power, but nice to have two charge while using the other pair.

I also already had the nitecore i2 from my Air as well, but I sold all my other Air stuff (kept the metal poker stir tool actually too). I think once you have your Zion you'll find yourself using the Air far far far less... :2c::D

FWIW zion batteries have been working fine in the air, for the few times when it's own batteries were dead but duty still called. Warranty issues notwithstanding of course.

Thanks, that's really what I should have asked to begin with.

I'm going to look into @Oregonglassblower and keep searching.

That stir tool sure is handy! We need to have two vaporizers in this house. My wife and I work at two different rhythms, and she really likes the Air. I'm hoping to replace my Enano (damn cord) with the Zion and see how she likes it. We both enjoy the nano but the cord is problematic so I anticipate replacing the air with the mini-Zion in the future.

I bet my ass you will! Only risk is she most likely gonna love it and claim it her device... Then again, still a fantastic deal and opportunity to get a second one. And then the mini when it's about to come :D

Well @stickstones after all your prodding and these rave reviews the sale price is now $199 and the MSRP is $229. See, I listen... Well, sometimes. Much love for the props ya'll... That's why we do.

So here's something I just realized today. If you have a bubbler like the d020-d where you connect your vape on the top, does the fact that the Zion's bowl is in the cutout going to cause problems if I'm using a typical size GonG? I just measured the GonG, and there's pretty much exactly 3cm of the length that isn't part of either of the connectors. I would imagine that the cutout on the Zion is close to, if not deeper than 3cm. Would anyone mind measuring the distance between the top of the Zion's bowl to the top of the wooden body? I'm guessing there's a good chance I'm going to need to hit up @Oregonglassblower for some extra long m2m adapters just like @cybrguy.

Thanks in advance for whoever does the measurement for me!

So how are you fine folks using oil in this beast? I know its an herb vape, but thats never stopped us here at FC from making it work with oil on any other model lol.
I believe @DieHard is using S/S sr71 coil but he has a hot zion. Not sure how the production units will handle it. I know I'll be finding out. Ha can't wait...
I'll be using gr2 titanium coil from sr74/71
I guess you can use cotton or hemp fiber?

@VegNVape did something with oil too, and others as well I believe... But unconfirmed if ours are the final production, may be hotter?

@Fission it depends, some adapters and bubblers are fine, some aren't. What also helps is one if @Ratchett's SonGs, then you can even just use the Zion stem, though I've used it with a GonG too. My 187 has the clearance problem, but my inline honeycomb (D020 sized, below for size) and tree perc are fine, can even spin Ziggy in em well during a hit. I posted various pics of all of them several pages back

$229 is a good compromise RBT! And now people can jump on the $200 deal!
How long will they have?
Until production units begin shipping?

Got some Maui Wowie and it has been very nice in Ziggy, tasty and heady.
I was even able to use a volcano screen to rig up a fine basket screen for the bent stem from ALT, but it still doesn't stay seated well though I've had some nice hits, too much air gets in since the ISO length, width, and taper of this one is just too off. I'll send to RBT or get it cut somewhere someday...

That reminds me @RastaBuddhaTao lets make sure to have plenty of extra screens included or available for purchase on the site so people dont have to deal with this (EQ baskets and ELBs can work, but i dont like the metal rim over the edge personally). I still like the original course ones that I use in my short stem and 18-18 male-male the most, but offering a fine screen option like this volcano one could be nice for some too perhaps

Can't wait to hear if you're able to replicate the TOD experience using your full sized Zion.

Me too. RBT originally was going to make it a very hot Zion. But thought better of it and is making it exactly like the production units. Smart choice. I'm excited to see this mythical goddess that Ive only seen pics of but have yet to lay my callused hands on. Oh and don't forget about my little grandma friend she too will be a great comparison test. Wednesday. That dreaded damned Wednesday.
