Discontinued The Grasshopper

Excuse the question, but why pair the hopper with glass? It's factor is designed for stealth, and it seems like a waste of battery life when a person has other plug-in vapes available? Because I'd purchase a hopper for stealth outdoor use, I'm most interested in how it performs/tastes by itself. Glass makes almost every vape taste better. How is it compared to your other vapes? Without that comparison, "great" is fairly nebulous.

Congrats on receiving yours. Let us know how the others ones perform.

I can answer the question about the glass now, but the rest will have to wait for a bit.
I always use water filtration when an option, and when I'm home it's always an option. I did hit it dry, and it's just what I expected with the heat source inches from your mouth (not even.) it's fairly hot and dry vapor. Tasty and dense as well. More to come on that front with time.
While at home I use a water piece, always. I think ALL vaporizers are hot and dry really, I don't prefer to use them dry. The only exception I can think of to that is a new steam roller piece I got for my EQ. It's a long glass path though to cool the vapor.
I am sensitive to the hot vapor so only use my vapes dry when necessary.

Excuse my ramble, the GH is an effective tool.

Hey Everyone,

We have now shipped over 400 Grasshoppers to backers. Stainless, Titanium and Color Grasshoppers have all been going out. The extra effort it took to produce the color units has really paid off. They provide some excellent contrast to the look and feel of the Stainless units.

We’re getting two machines online this coming week which will drastically speed up some of the longest assembly tasks. Several other machines are in the works, and we are aiming for a 10x assembly speed improvement by mid September.

There have been some issues with Grasshoppers during real-world use. This is why we operate in small batches. We can quickly make adjustments and keep the supply of new units flowing. Without millions of dollars to spend in pre-market testing, it was fully expected that we would run into some problems. We have a policy in place for same-day shipping on replacement parts if any issues are encountered.

A total of 37 units have encountered problems. Only 10 of these units needed to be fully replaced. We are working around the clock to address these problems, and the failure rate has already dropped significantly. In our latest batch we have only 1 reported issue.

Thanks to everyone who has helped us figure out the weak points so we can make necessary adjustments. We will continue to respond quickly and make changes as needed.

User Questions:

Shipping order - We are shipping in the order of contributions received. This is not a perfect order, depending on if more Stainless, Ti or Color are produced on a given day. We are not going to hold off shipping due to daily production variations. This is good for everyone as it allows for focused batch processing and speeds things up overall. The variation will be 1-2 days at most.

Clicking sound- The Grasshopper makes a very quiet clicking sound. This is totally normal and is just the Hopper doing it’s job.

We know that there is a lot of energy flying around and we’re doing our best to get you Grasshoppers as quickly as we can. The website will update shipping estimations as needed. Thanks again for the patience and support.

@SneakyPeteVaporizers has his review up!!!!! Check it out!!

Modnote: Edited to display review video.

There is something bothering me with @SneakyPeteVaporizers review:
He said he used GH for 6-7 weeks of intense use before review but he got his first "begged" unit 29-june. He said this unit lasted 2weeks before failing (mid july) than he waited 3 weeks to have scratched replacement (7 august) so the count is wrong: the unit he is using and reviewing is only 1week old, and he used 2 differents GH for 3weeks in total in my count, am I wrong?

also, do guys who have failed GH keep the faulty one?

Regarding the tailcap warming issue, I've noticed that the part that seems to get the warmest is the steel band that holds the clip to the temperature control/power button:

What do the FC engineering folks make of this?

Regarding what? According to latest GH upgrade it seems to be a non issue. They take time to reassure about GH clicking noise but not a word on back end heating matter.
So why go on bothering, are you a h(e)ater? ;-)

I think it's hilarious how they were talking about ramping up production to a thousand a week by the end of July a while back, they've only got 400 out, and now they're pretending that small batches was their genius master plan all along.

So what happened to that thousand units a week?

They could have assembled 1000 a week, but decided to only ship 400?

What's really exciting is with the new machinery at 10X production, they'll be cranking out 10,000 units a week I suppose? Roughly speaking, if each order is average $150, that makes $1.5 million/week, or $78,000,000 annual income.

Even if the new machine doesn't pan out, and they're stuck at a measely 1000 units produced per week, that's still almost $8 million a year. That sounds bigger than all other vape companies combined? Of course I'm assuming all this based on numbers stated by GH...

Edit: calculations above do not include proceeds from silicon session tips.

Frankly, this minor discrepancy doesn't bother me in the least, but now that the question has been raised it deserves a fair hearing. Why don't you email him and ask for clarification, then report back. Thanks!:)

He PM me,@SneakyPeteVaporizers told me has privilege related problems and cannot write an answer on GH thread, he agreed he made his maths wrong because of many different reviews in place but he will answer by himself once he get privilege to write.
