Discontinued Zion vaporizer

The Zion has fewer total parts in it than the clicker end of the product you're referring to, and most of them are off-the-shelf or catalog parts.

As such there is not much that can go wrong with it design-wise, and assembly wise it doesn't require any particular finesse to build.

Whether or not we are competent is a hotly debated topic at times, and remains to be seen lol!

Had a question sort of. Sorry if this has already been addressed, I have skimmed some of this thread in its making, but not much.

Will you be building all of these with a competent team? Like, is there only you and karma who know how to build these? How many units do you guys feel comfortable making? How many people have pre-ordered?

I am totally sold on finding that on-demand convection experience, and see a lot of GH defectors heading here. I am sort of on the fence, as that lifetime warranty yall are dangling till the 16th is really enticing... But if you guys get flooded with a few thousand orders, I am curious if that would be an issue, as it obviously has been for GHL.

I can understand where you come from, but I certainly have a lot of optimism with @RastaBuddhaTao and @thekarmawhore because of their strong forum presence and how quickly they have delivered beta units to their hand-picked beta team.

Many vapes & accessories. Always happy to help
hey guys,

gotta have my daily dose of this thread - I tend to overdose anyway.
Lots of great news - really like that nug design pic @thekarmawhore. Man, so excited!

About the basket screens: where to get them from? Haven't seen them in @RastaBuddhaTao s online store yet. How much are they gonna be?

About the batts: which ones fit best spec wise?

Here is a look from earlier in the thread. That 18mm M2M has an Arizer ELB screen in it. This is one of my favorite ways to enjoy my Zion, Venus. :)

Being new to stem based vapes I was concerned about losing goods from the stem too, but it turns out that it mostly stays inside, especially after heat has been applied. If I am using an especially loose pack or very dry goods I may suck the stem as I fit it in the joint. That is also how I fill it. Or I hold the joint facing up and place Venus on it. So, it turns out not to be a concern after all. :)

I guess it's a 18 to 14 mm M2M adapter, right? Where did you get it, eBay or dhgate or something? Already looking for items to prepare for the Zion :)

Happy vaping my friends, have a great day!

I believe that is just 18 to 18, eBay has the lowest prices overall imo, but using free ones that come with dhgate pieces is the easiest and what I'm using for water connection (and/or one of @Ratchett's SonGs depending on the bubbler). No screens in store yet, but they're coming I'm sure since you'll want exras for other adapters, along with other accessories as well. Gonna be great options in the final store

@seaofgreens yeah its hard to believe, but Zion is so simple and solid really, more mflb style than new age Hopper-tech (they have no wires you'll recall, so they're assembly is apparently quite tricky!), RBT has also already been gearing up for broader production during the product development (unlike some people we may have already named...) with various partners to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Also as of now orders aren't anywhere near GH levels, perfect time to get in early and ensure you have a Zion very soon... Also regarding warranty, its simple design is another factor here bc this thing is a total tank, judging by the beta team's experience thus far, warranty claims should be fairly minimal imo

No. The regular Zion is a US 18mm joint, so that M2M is 18mm on both ends. As it happens it is one of the ones that cam with bubblers from DHGate. The Chinese tend to use the US joints as well.

I have specially ordered some additional adapters from OGB and they are very nice. I ordered them an inch longer than his normal length to be sure I would have no issues with hangover. One of the DHGate ones is a hair too short for some of my glass.
It is important to also specify the US standard joint.

The single battery unit (Zion Jr?) is 14mm.

*Ahem*...she prefers the term "more to love." :p

But yeah...built like a brick s### house!

Hahaha yesssss

But she's also resilient people, simple power, with some taming features. My buddy drooled all down the long stem his first time, like a lot drool cuz he didn't notice he was drooling (shouldn't have given it to him right after he had craisins!) but after cleaning the stem/screen and swabbing the bowl/screen my Ziggy just burnt off the moist contamination (just a bit of wet wood smell and H2O vapors) and went right on back to business. No need for any hasty panic, or warranty services, kind of makes me think of this scene from Friends, after Rachel broke the back of Joey's recliner earlier, they return:

No miracles here though, just good old fashioned simple rugged design engineering!

RBT is a collection of scientist, engineers, and designers holding degrees from RIT, RPI, Penn State and Clemson. We hold captive the final assembly and quality control but components will be manufactured by US manufacturers that have the required expertise and competence. We are committed to controlled organic growth and aware of the pit falls of not following a rigorous NPD process from decades of product development experience. Although I cannot discuss the exact numbers RBT has capacity to do approximately 500 units per month starting out and will label the unit "Sold Out" when required to maintain a maximum of 4 weeks from order to shipment. Thanks for the question and opportunity to clarify RBT's mission. We look forward to your order if you decide to take advantage of the sale price and warranty.

Wootwoot, RIT in da house
@thekarmawhore dropouts unite! With our powers combined... We have a shitload of units and no drive to get that paper.

My Mind Is Free
I figure I'll hedge my bets, scrapped together enough to grab the unit, and will grab the batteries/charger sometime next month. Keeping that other companies product ordered for now, but if this comes before that, I might just cancel. (I'm not going to cancel this guy if I get that first though. I am intrigued, not starving myself to buy it, and if it helps me reach my goal of kicking combustion fully by the end of this year, I'm all for it.)

I certainly don't have the experience that lots of others have with various vapes, but I will do my best to offer feedback as I have it.

A tiny ickle piece of glass arrived in the mail for me today . . . picked this up on ebay for a score. A bargain to my mind.

Thought I'd snap a quick pic of Johnny rockin' it . . .

What a guy eh?

Is this different to yours @TheDudeNextDoor?

It does work nicely though even with this tiny amount of filtration I find it distances me too far from the throaty feedback & huge flavour that I love when using devices (particularly Johnny 5) dry.

But this teeny tiny WT is really very cute & dinky and I'm sure it will come in useful in many ways so I'm pleased I now have such a tool available in my vape arsenal.

:)

It's Zion I time . . .

Another point of concern or question is most of the beta testers are paying customers. I like most of my team have paid the exact price that is offered to the general public. And @seaofgreens your "lack of experience" as you put it is a perfect fit for input. The more aspects of the consumer base RBT and crew can get feedback from the better we will all be for it. This FC community is unlike anything I've ever been a part of. Having said that this beta team that RBT has compiled has been the most informative and fun thing I've been part of.

@VegNVape I too have that wt and for the $ it's hard to complain about. I have been using it dry a bunch also. Just to help cool a hot vapor.

That is a good point to make. Some may think we (the Zion10) are in the bag cause we got a freebie. We didn't. We got it before everyone else (a couple still waiting), but we paid the same as you can still pay. If I am in the bag for the Zion it is because I totally believe in it because it delivers, not because I got freebies. AND I believe in the way RBT brought it out looking for us to help him make it what the users want. It's been a great process...

Looks very similar. Mine is the Pinnacle brand, got it through the classifieds here before the Zion came about, and it's been the perfect mate for TheZionNextDoor. I find it really smooths out the harshness of the vapor in comparison to the stem, which works great but tickles my throat. Surprisingly enough, I have not found it any more difficult to determine when to let off the heat with the wt than with the stem although I do find I need more heat for the tower.

Well said cybrguy. I echo your sentiments.

Just so Dab HAppy!
I decided to jump in on this one. I was going to wait...but you beta testers have made me so jealous that I don't have one so I figured I had to get on the list! I was just saying over dinner how summer has gone way too fast...and now I am already looking forward to autumn.

Hey man, very nice setup (also a niceeee beer)! That's exactly how I wanna roll .. So this time it's the 18 to 14 M2M I was referring to before? The bubbler is already waiting, gotta get that adapter..

How'd you compare the taste with dry ones? I kinda only vape with attachment, coz strangely enough my throat and upper respiratory system seem to get f##### really really soon... Followed by antibiotics cause of bacteria.. Def. think it's induced by vaping - tho I'm a very light user. You guys know that problem?:(

Well, here is number three! I'm on my holidays on a nice little isle but I gotta check this forum ever so often and yearning for news... I guess this is a bad case of VAS (only got an AIR by now, so I still might be infective...attention.)

Love you guys, such a blast!
