Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

I know I keep coming back to the waters edge with the same damn questions so I am going to pull the trigger in the next day and quit dwelling on the decision.

Which do I get? I have been going back and forth for months and time to get off the pot. Persei or 8?

Same price?!?

I had been concerned over all the "advanced talk" and am really not looking for a high maintenance vape, but I want the best experience available.

From my reading, it seems the most important thing with these is to pulse the power and take cool down hits after a pull.

Do I go for the Persei with all that is included? Or the 8?
Does one outperform the other with the Herc cart?

If I get the 8 I know it comes with nothing, what else do I need in my shopping cart for the ultimate experience?
Batteries and a hercules and if you're like me the KISS AC or a KISS dual coil cartridge. I love the new dual coil. It gets the most use of anything. Especially on the core or with my VV/VW mod.

finally got to try my bender
a buddy of mine gifted me a few nugs of blueberry haze and a few of afghani cush
ground up some blueberry expecting to fail at vaping with the bender at a least a few times but was very happy to find it much easier to manage than i thought ive never tasted vapor so pure W9 is simply the best

Tasty. And once the visible vapor hits, it comes on like a freight train. Definitely a fun way to vape. For me, it was all about that hammer top to get the full spectrum of extraction when using my bender :) was feathering and futzing with my v1 top too much; hammer top let me relax and enjoy the experience.

today we pass another hurdle on the Utopia, this hurdle involves designing a part that is crucial so that it can be "easily" reproduced.

Easily meaning for me not for the glass engineer who will produce it.

Next comes the new prototypes that are going to be assembled next week and shipped to us.

Utopia is coming along nice.

Im not sure if this is the right place for this, but there seems to be a fair amount of discussion.

I recently purchased and received a KISS Alpha Centauri cartridge. The titanium double coil cart does not register at all when I screw it into the cartridge. The single coil worked for 3 days before stopping. The "donut", however, continues to work fine. I have never tried to fire the coils past 3.7v and loading was done with a syringe to insure that the coil remained untouched and intact. I was quite happy with the single coil while I had it, but it was very frustrating to have it spontaneously die right after I had loaded some concentrate into it. What would cause it to die in the middle of a session after working perfectly for 3 days?

How much life do most people get out of a KISS cart? I was expecting each one to last a manner of weeks based on the information here and my failed attempts to preserve the coils. I would've very much liked to enjoy and reccomend this product, but at this point I'll have to shelve it because I can't afford to spend $30 to ship myself two new coils just 4 days after receiving the unit. I'm also not sure if I want to invest more money in fear of receiving more faulty items... I would've felt petty complaining over 1 coil, but now I'm quite frustrated...
I am feeling the same way right now after 4 dual coils and I don't want to pay $30+ for 2 coils plus shipping.

jason5117,
@jason5117 *ahem*
2 dual coils is a waste of cash. Buy 4; there is a bulk discount.

Also, my 3G KISS cart dual coil and my new AC skillets are lasting longer than my previous ones. This may be because I'm running them at lower voltages than I was (6.3-7.4V on core of mod instead of full 8.4 w/ the 8) and am careful not to run them very long (it's easier to pulse a few times and stop BEFORE my throat tells me to, and I scorch less oil). Not saying they'll last forget, just saying I was a lot more rough on my first few skillets and paid for it. When I went to buy replacements, I figured out how cheap 4x was to buy, and never looked back. But a month later I have all 4, and though their performance varies from unit to unit, none have died out or lost any oomf. The difference in performance seems to come from minor variances in production. (Each reaches temp at a different rate)

Supposedly these are identical, manufactured from @THC SCIENTIFIC and works with the kiss AC.. @SamuraiSam could you confirm this please. I would like to order some in the future. Thanks!
They confirmed in the OV candidate thread that these are compatible.

I was just about to order some herc ptfe insulators to replace the one I broke while doing a cleaning and then I remembered something like that came with the kiss ac. Those don't fit right? I'd love to not have to order a pack of them.

For those who have had failures with their AC coils did you test the coils before loading? Did you test fire them in the manner they will be used? The best thing to do with new carts or coils is keep them unloaded and give them a test fire to see if they work! In a dark room (no sunlight or overhead light) 3-5 second pulse on 3.7V, or a quick half second pulse at 7.4 and taps to maintain temp there on out.

I have literally sat with my dual coil AC prototype all day long at work and killed 2 sets of batteries tapping it at 7.4V I still have this coil working fine. If you hold the button a long time at 7.4V it's going to break. Just look at how hot the wire gets, if its glowing red that's so far beyond vaporization temperature. You can't hold the button this long. You'll ruin the flavor of your oil way before you get into a dangerous heat level with these coils, so as long as you pay attention to maximizing flavor from your oil and feathering the button to make that happen, the coils should last a decent amount of time. If you decide to hold down the button for multiple seconds at 7.4V then we cant be responsible for misusing the products.

Our warranty policy must be read and agreed to before adding these coils to your cart. DOA coils must be reported within 24 hours, and I'll do my best to get replacement coils to anyone who provides proof of such an issue- our support ticket system exists to report problems like this. Beyond that, we can't control how these carts are used, particularly at 7.4V you must use the proper technique! There's a big difference between a half second pulse that works perfectly and a two or three second total meltdown, and vaporists unfamiliar with the power of 7.4V often don't understand how crucial pulses are at high power.

We know these Alpha coils are more durable than our original Globe coils, but nobody claimed they'd last a lifetime- this isn't a Hercules! Using coils at 7.4V is a lot of power, and if you need replacements for your consumable, disposable coils, replacements from delta9vapes.com and oilvaporizer.com are equal in quality to the coils available at w9tech.com. The 5 packs of coils from those sites are a pretty significant savings!

Those are AC replacement parts, you'd need these to replace the PTFE insulators in your Hercules.

Dang, I was like 99% sure but I was just hoping I wouldn't need to place the order and I left my ac box at home so I couldn't check. Thanks dude.

As for the kiss ac I'll chime in and say it's my new daily driver and I've been rotating 4 dual coils for a couple of weeks with no issues, that's just me though. I'm actually going to use it to try some live resin for the first time tonight.

Still rocking my 1st gen double cart top

still convinced the 8 doesnt heat up as fast as it

maybe this is a result of the protection circuit and inconsistent pressure on button presses though
sort of want a touch button top but dont wanna buy a whole new persei :X if anyone doesnt like theres hollar :D
