Looking for a new bong for everyday use.

Hey guys I've been looking through many bongs available in my area for about a week now and I've come down to these 5:

Possibly the easiest/smoothest and most durable i guess..

Flowers/Herb is what i'll be mainly using it for.

Hey man, are you looking to vape or smoke flowers through your new rig?

For smoking, those multi-chamber/big pieces with stupid long tubes/mouthpieces might be handy, but for vaping, I'd avoid this kind of piece.

As my friend above says, you can get something better on DHGate from China for your price range. Look at the d020 and some of the other stuff over in the cheap bubbler thread in the glass section of FC :) Will quite possibly be cheaper for you too!

That store you linked does look to carry some excellent pieces, but they are all much pricier and for a hope of a nice daily driver piece around/under $100, you really do need to cast your gaze to the Far East ;) .

Hi thanks for reply. Its the only store close to my area in my country that's available to me. Other countries like USA charge me extremely high shipping & handling prices which sometimes costs more then the bong itself.

Thanks for that site Do they ship to Aussie? if so are the prices high?

I'm looking for something to smoke flowers. If you could help me pick one would definitely appreciate it.

They sure do ship to Australia, many FC members are Aussies my friend ;) You will find prices including shipping on DHgate will be cheaper than the site you posted.

Hmmmm for smoking flowers I would suggest getting a bigger piece with multiple chambers to take the edge off the harshness. Keep in mind that if you mix tobacco with your flowers (as many Australians do), it is going to taste FUCKING TERRIBLE in an all-glass piece. Glass leaves nowhere for the flavor to hide and I have consistently had European and Aussie friends tell me that they prefer to smoke tobacco mixed with flowers through a plastic bong! A bizarre phenomenon indeed!

Try an activated carbon filter to take some of the nastiness out of the smoke too, although I'd stay away from putting ice in your pieces, since it'll encourage the smoke to recondense on the glass before you inhale it. This will cause you smoke more (a phenomenon demonstrated by Australian scientists funnily enough) and get less high from it, whilst exposing yourself and the glass surfaces to more harmful substances due to the additional smoking.

Don't get the frit piece, that will get absolutely vile with residue and the perc will not function as well after more and more use gunks up the tiny airpaths through the fritted disc. It will require EXTREMELY frequent cleaning.

Also remember this is a vaporizing forum - whose title literally sums up the attitude of many people here - so you may find asking for help on combusting (smoking) not to garner so many responses around these parts.

Still, smoking an all glass piece is harm minimization compared to the plastic/etc alternatives, so I am happy to offer help here. You may find like many do that tobacco mixing is unbearably gross in an all-glass piece and it could even help you change to just smoking flower instead :)

I would go for the DHoP Charon or maybe the Twin Cage piece (better not to use ice cubes here though!) The Blaze honeycomb tube could be good too, but less diffusion will make hits harsher.

By the way, do yourself a favor and always use stainless steel pipe screens in your glass bowls beneath the load of flowers. You do not want bits of flower sucking into the piece as this will effect function and be a pain in the ass to clean!

Of all of those listed above, including in your first post, I would personally prefer the Jet mini. I like the size/height, I like the perc, and I like the whirling smoke :cool:

But if you are simply looking for smoothest/easiest you might like the twin cage above with the double perc and taller chamber

Oh btw the way can anyone explain the difference between a carbon filter and a Ash catcher? I know they do the similar thing from what i've read but i'm thinking carbon is actually better?

An ash catcher can be thought of as almost a mini-bong connecting the slide (bowl) to the actual bong, in order to avoid ash getting into the main piece (which especially on complex percolators is a pain in the ass to clean).

An activated carbon filter uses activated carbon rocks in between the bowl and bong in order to much more thoroughly filter the smoke before you inhale. When I smoked with one, it was so much less harsh to smoke and I could feel the benefits in my throat when I woke up in the mornings!
