Here are a few photos from last nights/this mornings fun activities :)
Big thanks to phattpiggie for the social, and his missus for the snacks :)

Starting to tidy the ribbon ends in the hope of soldering them back together

This is the plastic that surrounds the heater, i presume it's also made of
Polybutylene terephthalate
If the outer case gets hot then i can imagine this getting well hot!!

If i do fix it i'm hoping to swap up some of the questionable components and at least make the dial fixed, and a cut out to enable 'on the fly' battery swapping, more photos will follow as we progress :)

Because when this unit works, it works well!

But I like it!
I really miss my Inhalater 05s. I let it go in anticipation of the 6, but it took much longer to come out than anticipated and I've picked up a couple of alternates since then, but I keep watching.

I agree with a bunch of the points above - I had an issue but it was dealt with quickly, and no other issues whatsoever. I discovered a love for low temp vaping with it - nothing else is close, especially in a stealth package that is easily refilled. But the company is a bit shaky. I got an email from them after the FC fiasco asking me to look past the issues and think of them as a small company trying to improve.

They aren't all that new any more, and their mgmt issues don't seem to be going away. If they could get their customer service side working like a real company they'd be a great vendor...

Their customer care policy is non existent and inconsistent.
@Ruta gets the 'tough shit you broke it not our problem' yet @2clicker gets a replacement??

The constant requests for more money to upgrade when units fail and making your customer wait for months to receive the new unit amidst the lies about replacements being dispatched is a piss poor way to do business. A poor management team will eventually sound the death knell for this company. Shame a good product when operating properly.
@Ruta you know you are more than welcome. After having read about the health risks of PET I will step up my search for a better surround for the heater.

Mod note: Edited to remove inflammatory remark.

well I find myself in a strange situation. I'm trying to remain positive about inhalaters units that made it to my hands. They work well indeed to date! Much use, but still not enough. At the same time it's tough to see @Ruta with these parts displayed.

I see a lot of FRUSTRATION and I don't want to be a HELLO FRIEND kinda bafoon that doesn't see the carnage. At the same time, I want to emphasize, every product is a story, every story has it's twists and turns, but at the same time we're all here to say, "HI" am I right?

so now that we're all "Hi' and good and all, let's just get one thing straight.
All the other hand held models out on the market that I have investigated are harder to clean, less easy to use. I'm gunna stick with the easiest to clean. If it works that would be best.

I'm looking for a model 6 sometime soon in the next month or two

I'll let you know how things go with me shooting caps, but the guys at Inhalater/Pharmacor said that I would like what they were sending me. & & and &.....

They were right about that, it's awesome to use and re-load.

do I need a PERMIT to operate these in the bathroom at say, City Hall or something? That was the only question I had.

Even with a medical marijuana card, there are technicalities.... like you can not vape weed in a public place etc.
Use discretion in public place if using a device...
Discretion... then denial!
"I didn't use it in here, I was just carrying it and nervously fingering it" .. While device has a chance to cool.

Well some time has passed....... and I just had to pop back in to say what a damn shame all of this went down the way that it did.... you all have missed out on by FAR their best modification yet.... this Turbo button business is surprisingly quite amazing as it turns out.... I've gotten rather good using it....
My technique has improved to the point that I can kill a glass cap it 2 runs... and the interesting thing is that I get 16 usually 17 fabulous inhalations in the 1st session if I count those extra yummy 1st 2 draws that have little visible vapor..... which I do.... anyhow then I get 13 more of which the 1st 9/10 are still very tasty and those last few on the higher {#7 base temp} temperatures wow.... gonna call those the closers for sure.....
All in all 30 amazing inhalations in just under 20 minutes.... yes yes I'm what you might label frequent flyer.

Anyway this is amazing because it was taking me 3 to sometimes 4 runs to achieve the same... although I can't say as I ever counted the inhalations.... I just recently decided to count because I was reading the GH thread and some of the numbers folks get or like to get...floors me.... but also very curious I was....

I recall posting that I was able to finish sooner using the back then new 05"S" mod.... I was almost always having to run 4 sessions in order to kill a glass cap...with the "S" mod I was getting it down to 3 once in a while a bit less than 3 runs.... but now with the addition of this "turbo" button I'm down to 2 sessions and the inhalations are so much more of everything.... taste / smooth / cloud size / no harshness...etc

Anyway it has really surprised me so I felt I should at least pop in and post how pleasantly surprised I am with it.... and what a damn shame what happened here involving the death of this thread... :2c: :peace:

I still love my Inhalater.
While the company is not represented here, those that see the unit invariably ask for the website link.

Only problem is the cartridges get so gunged up with a hard layer, any tips on removing this

I pretty much only use the glass capsules now a days but they get that same chard residue built up {in the chamber portion} so what I do after a good thorough ISO scrubbing with a Q-tip is..... I then wet a fresh Q-tip and add a small dab of Arm & Hammer tooth paste which makes the glass perfect like new again.... I've tried it on the Polyimide caps as well and it does work nicely.... if your build up is excessive you may want to try straight baking soda but I worry that might scratch the Polyimide... so cation flag on that play....

I hope your reclaiming all of that wonderful THC butter that condenses along the inside of those Polyimide capsules.... the mouth piece.... basically everything from the screen towards your mouth can be scraped out and collected.... over time and usage ... you will have plenty to make "hot pockets" something we started calling them here.... but its just a little tiny hot dog that you roll in fresh flower and then add to your next cap reload..... You will love it....

But I like it!
I used to toss my caps in a little dish of EC and swish then around for a minute. They come nice and clean, and there EC of nice and brown. When it gets black I toss it in with the next batch of tincture...

Gadz, why did INH try to game the board like that? They do make a great product, they just seem to be incapable of marketing. The INH is basically a plastic grasshopper with a non-proprietory battery, and if they spent a bit of time on getting their act together they would go far...

OK I just have to ask ... what are these things you speak of...EC & tincture.?

Also not to split hairs but the Inhalater is quite a bit different than the grasshopper... The GH is a straight convection vape....one could argue there is a slight amount of conduction once the walls eventually heat up... but in the end not really worth talking about....
The Inhalater on the other hand is both a conduction and a convection vape....a hybrid... something I've notice this manufacturer seems to like "hybrid twist" to doing things....

I mean just look at this "Turbo button" thing.... I swear every time I'm using it ... I'm reminded of the FF but of course its still very much a log vape with a FF technique twist.....they seem to enjoying thinking and designing outside the box.....

I do agree with and am very hopeful that they will get their act together..... sometime last week might be a good idea....
I've really been enjoying my INH06 {God I wish it was an "S" mod too} like I said it has a cool FFish technique flair to it..... which I've gotten very good with... but I will say sometimes I don't like have to count or worry about holding it down too long.... I think I would really like it to be more automated in some way..... Oh like how about one of those cool phone apps that can define how it will operate...:peace:

Edit:
Oh yeah I scrape out and use in my hammer pro, I can only get pollom (pressed kief) so I put this in cotton wool and roll it up like a joint
No gear touches the 'sleeve ' so not too sure why it gunged up so much
I would have to say there really is only one way for that to be happening down inside the oven... it is leakage from your cotton joints is the only logical conclusion.... I clean my oven lightly with an ISO dampened Q-tip once or twice a year.... stays very clean in there....
Something I do that might be helping mine stay clean is I pull in fresh flowers to make a small base then add my hotdog {THC reclaim} rolled in flowers and again pull in flowers all around the hotdog so if it were to leak slightly I think the small flower base catches it for future inhalations... happening in a few moments if I'm at the wheel..... ha ha ha LOL

Here is an operational tip that you might want to try... instead of setting it to say #6..try this;
Set it down by 2 #'s to say #4 let it go solid... once it does and your ready to enjoy an inhalation....turn her up then to #6 then start counting to say 7-10 thousand {secs} then start pulling hard {or I like to pull using my mouth then inhale what I've pulled into my mouth} like stoking a pipe sorta..... then just as your about to finish roll her back down to #4 and continue to pull out any remaining heat she might still have..... repeat.... & enjoy :peace:

My 05s is going strong, no problems after 6 months or so.

I only use my INH for speed sessions. Using 1/5 to 1/4 loads in the polymide capsules I crank it up to 9 and take a few quick convection before the conduction sets in and the vapor is too harsh. After a few hits on 9 I'm satisfied with the roast and dump my load. I get 8 sessions (give or take) per charge using this method.

I don't like the INH as a session vape, however when I need a portable to use with vapor newbies I reach for the INH. I either set it to auto or step it up from 5 to 6.5 over the course of the session. Newbies can get noticeable vapor regardless of technique because of the amount of conduction going on in extended sessions.

you guys have SO sold me on this....

I've compared this INH 6 with the boost button to other vapes... I compare this quite a bit to the grasshopper, but that unit is having some problems with breaking units as well so this issue is not limited to inhalater alone. There are customers on all sides of the fence with complaints.

Because of that I focus on the review of OLD SCHOOL. I absolutely have to agree with you man. I know Killick is here in Canada, I don't know where you're from but the two of you SO sold me. I've got envy over here. I have to call the manufacturer and get one of these... I have to TRY.

I do agree with most of the things said, and I tried some great KUSH called PURPLE KUSH over the weekend so that's one of my all time favorite strains and I look forward to getting a 6 at the end of August and picking up a half quarter of my love affair with this new addiction. So you should hear a FRESH review.

I personally believe company wanted a ROMANTIC story where a few of the customers that believed in them the most keep their thread alive, so I'm one of them, I'm part of who they become in the future, they won't be going away anytime soon. They still have a great product, it just wasn't what we imagined at first. If they made heavy duty inhalaters that didn't break down with replaceable batteries, I might pay &800 for one of those in reality. So what they are selling is not out of line completely with reality.

They still have the EASIEST to use system that people like to use when introducing VAPING to a new bee. IN reality, it's easier to clean, easy to operate, small enough to fit in a pocket, and a great buzz really really I can't wait to try a combustion boost unit.

I'd easily pay $800 for a titanium inhalater with heavy duty parts, but I do have 20 permanent caps, so I'm easy to work with ANYONE that comes out with a unit that fits these caps.

Inhalater will probably be the only company that does that.

Fred & Greg are LUCKY folks >>>> they have hundreds of these units, so for them, if one breaks they just grab a new one. That's sort of who I WISH I could be.

It sounds like HEAVEN at their store. I don't give up on the idea of HEAVEN existing. For that reason, this thread will always be alive ;)

I'll keep it that way, so no talk of it being dead, K?

A local patient that I got an INHXP for (before the INH05) has come to me and given me his XP
I now have an INH05 and an XP.
I always liked the XP, and I missed it.. but did get very accustomed to the 05 I was lucky enough to get from @scottg402
I now feel very prepared going out into the world with XP and 05 in my cargo pants pockets.
I no longer like either better... I have enjoyed just "being prepared"!

Having spoken to @Ruta yesterday about a second ribbon snapping on him. Same fault different unit. Fingers crossed we have caught it in time fiddly little job and nowhere near as easy as re-soldering the heater back to its PCB but that's a different story.
Not much QA going on. The heater unit in mine looks like it's been in an RTA.

I decided to really give my 05 the ability of a true portable with full 'On The Fly' battery swap out.
All credit to Ruta for thinking along these lines. Just need the outer sleeve we spoke about.
@HD Springer. The sensible Phatt was screaming at me 'Move away from the shed, back away from the Dremel' but the natural tinkerer in me got the better.
I think I may have void my warranty.

Coming soon to a Dollarama near you the new and improved INH05/HITS. Hole In The Side.

I'm PROUD to say that I have 2 of the INHalaters still working.

FOR THAT REASON: Guys, on August 31 I'm gunna PAY PAL Fred & Greg at Inhalater. Just like I did last year on July 1st. I'm just going with what worked for me last time.

I'm getting an INH 6 plus I'm ordering an extra water attachment so that I can use one with the 05 and 6 models that were made to fit the attachment. I also will use the xp with a modified water attachment that I've fitted with a piece of cork that's been holed out in the middle just enough to slide a clear rubber hygenic tip thru and those came with my 05 unit but didn't fit the mouthpiece on my caps, they fit the new caps instead. After cooking in water and stretching it out with a straw, I altered one of them to fit and it's small enough to slide thru the OTHER end of the water attachment.

When the whole thing is put together, it butts right up against the xp and it doesn't wobble back and forth, it's firm enough to put into the bong and use exactly like the 05 model does :)

the only problem is with just one water attachment at my house, every time I switch units, I have to remove or re-insert the cork.

SO I'll get the 6 try it out, leave my review after a couple of weeks. not right away. Go and use, lot's of space, come back and report back what I've learned.

I like using this out, but as mentioned months ago, I'm slowly AIMING at a more portable bong like the SIMBA water frit, outrageously priced, but you can turn it into a thc drink, so I'd put orange juice or sparkling wine and bong thru that.

The simba you plug the vape in the bottom, so it's nice with a vape,, a little large for your pocket, but perfect for a car or something, well made not delicate, very pricey is the only downside.

I think thru the bong, it's really untouchable.

I still like some other designs, would re-invest in Inhalater first.

When things go good with people in life I ALWAYS OFFER TO RE-INVEST just because it makes sense if you had a good time last time, give them the benefit again and go on a second date. If you don't why you runnin from something you had fun with, what chew scared of?

To your question I'd answer "throwing 400$ of hard earned money as a gamble to a company that will blame ME if their flaky design fails" is what scares me.

If it was 200$ CAD at most, and they were renowned for good customer service practice, I'd be all over it.

I don't think people are scared more like scarred.
You seem to be one of only a handful of voices who have had a 'fun' time at the hands of Fred and Greg.
Fred & Greg are LUCKY folks >>>> they have hundreds of these units, so for them, if one breaks they just grab a new one.
Having spoken to people here I can assure you there will be many pissed off with this statement. People who have repeatedly paid shipping or upgrade costs and still have faulty or no units at all. Poor damage limitations there guys.
That's sort of who I WISH I could be
??????
Personally my unit still works. Set it to 5 and it chuffs away lovely all thru the load. Unfortunately if you repeat with a new load it may or may not be the same result. Its erratic to say the least.
I mentioned the Titan 2 as I used to have one of these the flavor was a lot better than the 05 possibly due to its massive temperature range.
Don't forget less than $25 and your huge supply of polyimide caps will fit it lovely. Sorry man just pulling your leg.
Any one who follows this thread knows my opinion of the Fred and Greg show.
I wish you all the best with your new unit and can honestly say I am looking forward to your reviews. Maybe some fotos or video a picture tells.... and helps people understand more what you're up to. Remember not everyone uses water or o j.
I myself will keep my hard earned $'s and look forward to investing in a company who use sustainable materials and offer an excellent warranty. One which values it's customer base enough to involve them in the evolution of their products at the grass roots.

Actually I'm using my Xp and 05 a lot, only with the glass capsule and I get a great taste and some nice clouds using setting 3 with my Xp and 5.5 with my 05.

You can break your bud in small parts to load the glass caps loosely, taste is awesome and clouds are here and goodies are fully extracted (even with a really moist and dense weed!).

This vapes was taking dust this last months...it's a reborn for the better!

(although I don't plan to get a 06....)

Is there not a U.S. Online store that sells the glass capsules ?havent used my inh5s much since buying simply because the flavor is to harsh for me. Even on lower temps.after reading some of this thread I'm thinking the glass cap could solve this dilemma
