How did you first learn FC existed? What brought you here?

Team NO SLEEP!
I had been vaping 100% for two years before I found FC. My girlfriend, now fiancé, encouraged me to vape after a previous sinus surgery. That set the hook! The Plenty was my only device and it served me so very well the first 2 years.

But I knew there were other great vapes out there and I was looking for something more portable. It just seemed all the best information and content Google was digging up pointed to the FC forums.

Combined with my medical history, I was looking for medicinal MJ guidance and was living in a non-friendly state. Again, all roads pointed to FC.

Honestly would have really been tough to kick combustion without the information and support found in these pages.

Thanks to all that contribute!

I stumbled on FC about 6 or 7 years ago while researching vaporization. I haven't smoked for almost ten years , exclusively vaping or edibles. I have learned a lot from this site. There are quite a few sharp people contributing their time and knowledge.
Thanks to them.

Back in 2012 I started investigating vaporizers and came across @Vitolo on YouTube demonstrating the Vapir No.2 which eventually led me to FC. I love his videos! I started checking on the soon to be released Ascent which eventually was released more than 6 months after it was suppose to. Like in Aug 2013.

I was watching in the shadows all about the No. 2 and reading about the Ascent. I eventually after all the reviews decided to get the Solo because the Ascent was taking too long. Then I wanted a 3rd vaporizer so I bought the Pinnacle Pro including the Micro Shower WT. I was in deep with VAS and no turning back at this point.

I didn't officially sign up on FC until Nov 2013. I felt like I knew everybody already. I knew the FCers weren't just a bunch of stoners. You guys are a group of bright, intelligent and a giving community. Helping each other along the way with many of the same goals and ideals. Folks from everywhere.

I try spreading the good news about vaporizing at the dispensaries when I speak with other patients, growers and bud tenders. Also I tell them to check out Fuckcombustion

Trapped in the Astral Planes Back from the dead
I had done the whole spend money find out it is junk a number of times. What finally lead me to fc was when the latest and greatest portable vape (the Raydiant Titanium Vapor Engine) hit the market, (with the assurance of my trusty local hs owner that this one works, no joke.) I quickly dropped the cash and rushed home to try out this modern marvel. Up to that point I had used a number of vapes some known brands and some diy. I had better results with basicly every other one up till that point. So getting a little down 100% knowing that it was my fault, I turned to the internet to try and get answers. Then I came across a link to fc. And quickly came to terms that I had been duped out of a premium price for a sub-par piece of equipment. I lurked many years before posting. Learning a great deal from our community. I have returned here faithfully and hope I can continue for many years to come.

For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky
I found FC when I was looking to buy my first vape. I spent many long days researching, and mostly I kept ending up back here.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd end up spending so much time here. (This fact is evident in my well-thought-out username ) I was just looking for a way to consume my favorite herb without killing my lungs!

Since joining FC, I've bought another vape and some accessories like a decent grinder and a few JyARz (which I love, and would never have known they even existed had it not been for this website!). I got my best friend into vaping, and after repeatedly hearing me wax lyrical about how great this community is, he signed up too!

The google while looking for a better oil pen vape and seeing Uptech's 1701 rebuildable atty on youtube kept bringing me back to FC. Everything I searched for had multiple links on FC so I figured I would join up and be assimilated into the source. :borg:

Over the falls, in a barrel
Can't believe it's been almost 3 years! It must have been google that brought me here when I was trying to find out how affordable and feasible picking up a vaporizer might be, back in the day when all I knew was the Volcano and had never vaped before. I do recall one of my earliest memories related to this place involves someone on Grass City complaining about the mods at FC.

Once I got here, I found my way to the MFLB thread and was hooked by all of @pakalolo's work writing and compiling info on Vaporpedia and @OF's inspiring messages to newbies. I read as much as I could in anticipation of my launch box arriving in the mail, and it turned out to be great preparation. I was off to the races in no time! Wasn't long at all before I was following dozens of threads here…

In fact I remember taking this screenshot, back in Feb '13, in a sort of "wow, look at what a nut I am" moment:

In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king
Most new things I get involved with begin with the sheer joy of the hunt/investigation and if warranted eventually lead to obsession and mastering. I can happily lose myself for days and more going through the minutia for a new toy, technique, methodology... just about anything, if it peaks and holds my interest. Vaporizing was the perfect fit for this part of my personality.....and FC is the perfect fit for learning ALL about it.

As part of the above journey I lurked on many a site but not once was I tempted to join and participate until FC. I've never been one for social networking sites. There's just something special about this site and those who frequent it that other sites can't compete with. The entire ecosystem here, from the mods to the members, is based on a foundation of respect and in many cases 'caring'. The back and forth on the other sites contain the usual browbeating, bullying and general nastiness I don't want to waste my time with.

thoroughly vaped
Was looking to replace my old Vapor Brothers knock off - Vapor Cannon by Vaporwarez - and pretty sure Google brought me here. Led me to some great new techniques and eventually the EQ. Think it was about 6 years ago.

I didn't come by much and lurked for quite a while. Then FC kind of just grabbed me because of all the great info, the great and very knowledgeable people and it being such a great forum and community.

Don't know what I would do without FC!!

I don't have a clue. Hell, I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast yesterday. :hmm:
Might I take a guess? Stone rolled oats with a dash of ABV? :)

I was seeking relief from the spins that are part of Menier's disease. Found an article where one found relief with mmj. Started combusting, got relief but also effects I didn't like... too heavy, too mind numbing, stinky, coughing...etc.

Researched a cure for the things I didn't like and the result was finding FC! Got all the benefits and none of the Stanky after-stuff!

Steel cut oats. Stone rolled oats was a bit before my time.
..........................................

Steel cut oats, the breakfast of (vapor) champions.
I'm waiting for my steel cut oats dealer to come thru. Last year I bought a 50 lb sack from him, fresh from the grain mill.
He needs orders for 40 of the 50 lb bags though. 50 lbs disappears when you eat it almost every morning.

I found Fuckcombustion by accident. Was looking to buy a EQ and searched for reviews on it and ended up here.Read the reviews, liked what I read and made my purchase.Did not come back for a while until I wanted a solo. That being said FC was always in the back of my mind because I am a longstanding member of another website, 8 years or more (not vape related).Every couple weeks people would ask about vapes,or why we didn't have a vaporizer forum and the question never got answered. So whenever someone asked that, my response was always www.fuckcombustion.com

I actually found FC researching for the Grasshopper. I found FC and started researching all the vaporizers. I kept telling myself I was going to keep up with the GH thread but I couldn't. I already owned 4 vaporizers but FC made VAS a reality in my life. I've kept buying and researching vaporizers telling myself I'll quit buying when I find my perfect portable vaporizer. I'll keep you posted on my quest.

I remember I would be investigating vaporizers and FC kept popping up. I don't belong to Facebook or any other social online community. I have read through some and there's a lot of mean spirited comments and hate being spread. I don't need the added stress or aggravation.

I found FC the same way the majority of you did. Through Google. I had switched over to vaping and was researching which vape would suit me best. I found my way here and started getting the log vape itch; mostly due to videos by Spiral Architect and the fervor over the Purple Days. Got my first log vape and the rest was history. VAS set in with a vengeance, lol.

Now I'm hooked. I'm not really looking for more vapes, but have become invested in the people and relationships I've formed here. It sort of feels like 'home' to me.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Had no prior knowledge of vaporizers of any kind except in Science Fiction.:D Then I found out about FC when I was doing research for a PAX vaporizer. And that would later carry over to all vaporizers. Couldn't agree with everybody more about the positive and often supportive nature of these forums. Like the full mix of experienced veterans and the uninitiated. Oh and, It's fun to be a geek here.:science:

As for me, I don't buy anything major without asking around the FC forums first. Avoided a lot of bad decisions that may have turned me back to the dark side. Also I don't normally do much forum writing of any kind. Which is strange now that I've written just over 120 messages here. A lot of that because of the answers and feedback I've received and help that I have been able to offer. (and the likes I've received too.)

I don't have a clue. Hell, I have a hard time remembering what I had for breakfast yesterday. :hmm:

There's a great old joke Bennet Cerf joke about the young couple on their honeymoon is the Southwest. They see a sign for an upcoming Indian Reservation, 'See the old man that never forgets'. So they ask the locals and are told about a very old Indian that claims to never forget anything, so they drive down the dirt road to see him. The husband is flustered, can't think of anything to ask he might know as well, so he asked 'what did you have for breakfast 3 days after your 12th birthday?'. The old man (at least 123 YO by appearance) thought a moment and answered 'eggs'. The husband nodded, thanked him and was off to several days of listening to the new wife harp on his dumb question.

35 years later they're on a road trip celebrating their anniversary and see the same sign, freshly painted. 'That can't be the same guy, he'd be like 150 YO by now....', so they drove down again and looked around. Seeing a very very old man walking slowly up the street, the wife wondered....... So they park, walk back to him. The husband raises his right hand (like in the movies) and says "How!". Without missing a step the old man responds, 'scrambled'.

Now I'm hooked. I'm not really looking for more vapes, but have become invested in the people and relationships I've formed here. It sort of feels like 'home' to me.

I hate to break it to ya, Lady, but a lot of that 'home' stuff is your fault.........After all we got us a Mom, that's where home is, right?

Thanks for that.

I originally found FC about four years or so ago when I was playing with the idea of switching to vaping from combustion and was looking for a portable vape... Google I guess - did some reading, didn't join and decided to get a MFLB.

I didn't really get on with it the LB tbh (mainly due to the batteries being a pain, I think now if I'd had a PA maybe it would have been a different story  ).

Anyway I didin't really come back until after I'd bought my Arizer Solo and joined up then - just over two years ago now :

Great site (the ONLY serious resource for vape info) and great folk who post on it
