Does diffusion decrease vapor potency?

Whether there is water with the perc or not. Do dry diffusion slits decrease potency? I know they decrease flavor. But i recently noticed i got thicker clouds with my Evo while using a 1 hole dry perc vs my dry single matrix perc that i had been using

I would assume dry slits would have more surface area.

More surface area = more area for vapor to recondense = some level of decreased potency.

Whether it would be particularly noticeable high-wise?
I agree. Water and more surface area serve to decrease potency. How much is debatable. There's a trade off, even if it's small, between minimizing loss of active components and cooling your vapor.

I use diffused pieces dry and wet, and although I accept intuitively that water will diminish flavor and potency somewhat, and dry to a much lesser extent (if at all), I notice no discernible reduction in potency whatsoever in either.

Same here. I tried letting some glass get dirty, the return of reclaim was pitiful, nothing like what sticks to my GonGs.

IMO, there is too much emphasis put into the whole "activities lost", we are light years ahead (in efficiently extracting activities) of what we used just 20 years ago.

I have experienced water decreasing flavor, but never a dry piece of glass. Are you sure you are getting less flavor this way?

Nah not positive. I just noticed a whole lot more reclaim when i had the matrix perc so i felt that was taking away some of the stuff from the vapor. A good test would be for someone to try a dry DG fritted disk and see if much is loss

I've never noticed personally. I quite like more diffusion actually. It lets me take monster rips, which in turn, get me ripped quicker.

A giant hit through my M&M tech (double diffusion: slitted downstem into a large tree perc) using the EVO is honestly the most potent thing I've done. Personally, I find it works better than dabs do...but maybe that's just because I love the feeling of vapour over oil. I can get tired of oil very quickly, I never get tired of vapour.
