Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Spent 2 hours with @thekarmawhore tonight finalizing the design for the stash spot and stir stick. So close to getting this think locked down and into production I can almost taste it. After all the Beta team input and testing this thing is gonna be right tight.

I am willing to bet I get my Zion before I get my GH and I am way less worried about a problems with the Zion. I just get positive vibes about this company plus I really love the wood!! Any chance of doing custom wood once everything is flowing smoothly?

Are you based in the UK @VegNVape ? Just noticed all the pricing in pounds. Looks like a great headshop, wish I had a decent local store where I could just walk in and grab a SantaCruz Shredder, need one badly!!

Living in Cornwall does have huge advantages but also has huge downsides with lack of decent retail outlets.

Know there has been some discussion here in the past, but hoping someone can help me out with battery specifics. I'm a total noob when it comes to 18650's!

Is there a thread for Li-Ion batts here on FC? I've found a couple battery safety threads (thanks for those!), but no battery primer for someone as clueless as I feel here. Is there somewhere else that provides solid info for someone who is starting from nearly 0 batt knowledge? I appreciate the few links I've found in the thread about batts, but info there is WAY over my head or requires quite a bit of reading about battery history, theory and mechanics (which I don't really have much interest in). Have been reading what I can, but very difficult to get a firm grasp. Feel like I could glean more from this info if I had just a little bit more understanding/knowledge before I get in any deeper.

On RBT's site he has pictures of what look like LG batts in yellow sleeve. Power info next to pic states 2500MAH, 35A. LG number on pictured batts is LGBDHE41865. Been poking around on Amazon looking at chargers and batts and the LGs I found there with same specs (2500MAH, 35A) have red shrink wrap instead of yellow and LG# LGDBHE21865. I did find some that looked same as RBT's picture (yellow and same numbers) on Amazon, but they were listed as 20A as opposed to 35A.

Maybe there was a change along the way, and RBT still just has old pic up? Maybe Amazon is screwed up?

Figuring my Zion won't be here for a couple months (just recently pre-ordered), but would like to figure this out and have batts ready when she gets here. Definitely want to have the right shit, and best batteries for Zion at best price, of course!

Thanks in advance for some help and guidance! Figure there may be others around here who are getting or thinking about a Zion who would love to find something about this here, too.

And while I'm here with this, hoping to get a little more advice. I'm looking at the NiteCore D2 and D4 for a charger. Leaning towards the D4 because only $7 more than D2 and I feel better to have those two other slots and not need them, then not have them and want them at some point. Little help? THANKS!!

I just bought 4 of the 2900mah LGs with my Zion from RBT. I already had an i2 charger as well. All more than good enough for me (though D2 would be better with voltage measurement, then I wouldn't have to charge then fully everytime to pair, but I never drain them too low and swap em regularly in mine)

Yeah I believe in GH, but using Zion with its power and versatility I'm very lucky to not be thinking about Hopper much anymore these days... Plus the simplicity and resulting durability is just great. Sure its body/style may not be as polished as GH yet, but there is no complex new age tech here to fail here either. The mini may offer more true stealth, but Zion really has been a cover all portable for me
(and combuster friends who use all my vapes with me, get have some of their own too, also seem to love it the most of all)

Get the D4. I got the D2 and several times now have wished I had the 4.

I wish I could take Venus out and show her around. I am afraid, however, that neither one of us would be sure to be going directly home after, and Venus probably not at all. She would probably end up going home with a cop...

Wow this just shocks me. Here in Cali I see tons of people rolling around with ecig box mods, a lot of wooden or wooden looking ones as well. I would have no problem pulling the Zion out taking a couple rips and putting it away, no one would even give me a second look unless they caught a whiff of the vapor!!

Just two more Beta units to release as the team finalizes the production design over the coming weeks.

I too believe I will likely recieve my Zion before my grasshopper, but I gotta say that I am far more looking forward to my Zion at this point.

Why? Because I can see the blood, sweat, and tears being poured into this project. I see that forum members have really been able to give their input.

I was hoping to have one of the two vapes when I fly to Portland at the end of the month, however I should probably pick out one of my current vapes and start getting it spotless.

@RastaBuddhaTao keep up the good work my man, you have got me at the edge of my seat in anticipation!

Asked RBT that a few days ago in a converstation. Hope not to do wrong if I pass his words thru:

"The Indiegogo won't kick off for another few weeks."
Yeah, that makes sense since they'll most likely want to hold off until the production design changes are finalized so that they can promote it accurately. Great team RBT & TKW!

After it was brought to our attention that Indiegogo will not be funding vaporizers any longer we have decided to forgo the crowdfund. It was only going to be a small number of vaporizers to help generate exposure. This is probably for the best as we don't want to upset the quiet productive and friendly environment we have created here. As luck would have it two of our senior Beta Testers have helped us make connections with two major retailers so we are excited to take the grass roots and word of mouth approach and earn our sales... So tell a friend, buy a Zion!

21,878, and counting, members here that's a good start for exposure. FC was suggested to me when looking for a vape.
It sure is!! I'll spread the word to anyone who's into that vape thing over here. Still in its baby shoes in this region - but I could try to help and name two prestigious dealers for the GER market once it's interesting.

Can't wait to read about shipping one day :)

@RastaBuddhaTao

Like quite a few people here, I've been VERY patiently waiting for the release of the Grasshopper, and since about October, my belief and faith in them has eroded, especially lately.

Consequently, I've just started looking at alternative (I was a backer from their indiegogo days) vaporizers and just about five days ago I started to read this entire thread, and have just finished.

So, I have a few questions. I realize it's too late to get the $169 price with lifetime warranty (I'd be more than happy though if you offered it!!), as I've just discovered this thread, but will the price go up again from $199? The reason I ask is because your website states that you will begin shipping in early October, but it says they are beta units. I prefer to get a final production model, as it's too late to be a tester. Will the units that ship in October really be beta units, or is this just an oversight issue?

If those are going to be beta units, when do you expect to ship final production versions?

Any guesses for a rough delivery estimate on the single 18650 vape?

Also, for anyone interested in making your head explode on battery information, there is a flashlight version of fuckcombustion where they are even more particular than us here. Lots of electronics info there. It can be found at candlepowerforums. com

People there refer to themselves as flashaholics.

I think we should show up at the Vaporizer Olympics with it and kick some ass.

Is there a Vaporizer Olympics? I bet we'd "crush it" if there was...

Oh this versatile beast would crush nearly every category I'd imagine...

@fonzerelli with the final two beta units going out soon, the next run will be a pilot production run, so it will be a finalized production version (and you should have an opportunity to upgrade, in some way, should new enhancements be developed several months down the line).

We don't need indiegogo, just badass all in one wood/glass/steel pure convection portable vapes made to order!
With full retail partners and point of sale on the site we can get this powerful beauty out there, but everyone needs to help spread the word!
