Sent my crafty in for repair, have an old model CY0012XX. Stopped working with app once my phone updated to lollipop. My step sons had 0 day turnaround when it was sent in, hoping for the same. My c-juice is good but I miss my evening flowers.

So, my issue isn't that I'm trying to pull as hard and fast as I can. The problem is that each pull requires that I pull about as hard as I can. And the vapor produced is WAY less than I've seen on videos. Usually, there is barely any visible vapor. Both of these things make me wonder whether my unit has an airflow problem.

This video breaks down cleaning the cooling unit around the 4:30 mark. I would suggest following along and checking for blockages. I learned several new tips myself. Hope it helps because draw resistance shouldn't be a complaint in a properly functioning Crafty and the CU/straw/screen seem to be the cause of most issues I have read about.

Thanks for the feedback. As I said, it is very hard to draw from regardless of whether the bowl is filled or empty, so I don't think it has to do with overfilling. Also, I'm not using oils, and it's been this way from the start. How fast (in seconds) could you go from fully exhaled lungs to fully inhaled if you were trying to go as fast as possible? For instance, if you can do it in like 5 seconds then mine definitely has a problem. There is no WAY I can get anywhere close to that. 12 seconds is my best.

Also (again, sorry), draw resistance is less with the cooling unit by itself. Full exhale->inhale in about 8-9 seconds. But still pretty high IMO.

The solution is VERY simple. Send S and B an email describing your problem. Give them a day to reply. While you wait pack up your unit in its box without anything else in it. they will tell you to send it to them. you will.
Then in a few days you will receive a new unit without any draw restance.
Just send that email!!

A hot tip.
I like the crafty. One thing is that it has a tool.
That tool gets loose and its easy to loose.
that sucks.
So here is what I do. I bet some of you do to. Maybe some of you never thought to do this.

when you are charging the crafty you have to remove the tool.
I take the tool and flip it over and stick it back in. That way it's never loose.
it"s never lost.
So far.

I broke my tool because of that, left mine upside down then forced the Crafty in my back pocket when the tool snapped. Took me about 10 seconds to move again after I heard it breaking. I just used some super glue and a preorder for a wear and tear kit and extra CU.

Isnt the solution to clogged mouthpieces just cleaning them? I have to clean mine almost every 7-9 days because of the oil creeping up the mouthpiece.

Thanks folks! Appreciate the tips and feedback :D Part of me can't help but worry if the problem is me though. I'd hate to send it in and then get a replacement that's just like the first, and it was fine all along. That's pretty much what holds me back.

Just curious to see what amount of hours other craftys have been in use for and still running strong. I just got mine on saturday and haven't touched it at all today. I have a measly 2 hours on my crafty lol.

How many hours does yours have?

Some people on here lately have said that S&B has sent them a replacement unit and shipping label before they have sent their defective unit back.

I'm going to abuse the shit out of this crafty and try to break it! Let's see how much abuse this thing can take...I'm giving my mighty a rest and daily drive the fuck out of this crafty and see how it holds up to 20+ bowls a day!

Flipping the stirring tool while charging is an old trick, I do like using it to seat the lower screen after cleanings too.

Also my first crafty lost a chunk of the housing while removing the cu while hot

Do you want to buy local and not online? If online is ok, I suggest Puff It Up. I've had great experiences with them and they offer us FCers a discount...

I need to buy locally, in a store.
I have to pay the money because I do not use credit cards.
or I can buy with money even being online?
I do not live in america

It may be extra effort, but if you can't find it locally, you may want to see if you can prepay into a PayPal account and pay online that way.

Here is another HOT TIP!!
So the crafty (and Mighty) have strange designs right?
Well its all about design and form follows function.
The FINS are a part of the heat sink designed to PULL heat away from the source and (and this is the important part) put that heat directly into your HAND where the blood flow in your hand takes the heat away!! its easy to test. Plug in the crafty and sit it on the table and do a session.. then feel it ITS HOT the whole thing is HOT ok it might just be very warm...
the point is the design of the CRAFTY is all about moving the heat from the unit (battery and heating unit) into your hand. The plastic they are using moves heat surprisingly well, Imagine the same unit in COPPER or ALUMINUM (NOT TITANIUM Ti does not move heat well) That would be quite a thing an aluminum CRAFTY!!
You see your hand is very good at removing heat from things. The CRAFTY is designed to take FULL advantage of this. Your hand and its blood flow work to remove the heat from the CRAFTY.
So for great results hold onto that CRAFTY while you use it!! it will stay cooler... and last longer as a result.
BTW In the winter months The Lithium battery will not do well if COLD so keep it warm by holding it in your hand.

I say GO FOR IT

He might be in the wrong country!
Knowing what I know about living overseas. In many countries Getting caught with a SMELLY CRAFTY will send you to jail. Personally IF i were to travel with one of these units I would clean it. And NEVER travel with a used (smelly) CU. At something under $20 it makes total sense to me to take a few of with. When they get smelly toss 'em. Thats assuming you go somewhere and find meds. I have successfully traveled within the USA between (medical use) states with a PAX and a small stash without issue.
It seems as though traveling inside the USA with meds is pretty much easy to do. THEY are not looking for weed. (thats OUR USA they) Your THEY may well be looking for weed. Act accordingly.

in any case i say GO FOR IT!!

So i am assuming you have taken the cu apart and cleaned it? Made sure its clear and not clogged. Put you finger over the screen and take a hit, does it suck your finger in? Noticed mine wasn't hitting like shit. Did the test on the cu and I had to hit hard as fuck to get suction on my finger. Tried the test on another cu I have and it sucked my finger in, like you can feel the suction. Put that one on and its night and day. I suspect I just need to put new o-rings in the cu that hits like crap.

Some people on here lately have said that S&B has sent them a replacement unit and shipping label before they have sent their defective unit back.

I got that unit shipped to me before I sent the broken one back. Mind you it was 3 days after I got my "repaired" unit back and I forgot to mention but I had paid extra for faster shipping back on that unit. So that might have been a factor in their decision to ship me a new one without receiving the faulty unit back first. I totally get why they don't do this for every return, but they could if they just put a hold on peoples credit card till they got the defective unit back. Although that doesn't work with repairs.... Fuck it I am Crafty

Have had my crafty used for over 350 hours and still running strong! Only issue I've had is the plastic housing breaking where the mouthpiece screws in. Anyone know if storz replaces for this?

Wow. That is epic. 350 hours!

S&B sell replacement cooling units that come with a mouthpiece. Otherwise if the CU isn't broken you can buy the mouthpieces separately.

After all those hours - the battery is still very strong for me. Definitely takes a little longer to heat up but it's not that noticable.

I've replaced the Cooling unit twice - I find the cost to be fairly inexpensive to get the "new vape" feeling. Sadly, the plastic pieces that are broken are on the crafty itself, not the CU :(

How about the load count? Can you still do 3 on a full battery?

If mine also gets old like that, I wouldnt mind it heating up even a minute more.

Love love love my crafty

If you return your unit to S&B because of the broken plastic they will replace it for you under warranty. You will have to send only the heating unit back and will be sent a brand new Cooling Unit with your new unit. Make sure you ask for a free shipping label to be sent to you otherwise they will let you pay for your postage yourself. Also try asking if they will send your replacement unit to you before you have to send your back. They have done that for a few people here recently.

Lastly you can easily clean the CU's by soaking them in ISO for 30 mins then reclaiming the oil that had built up.

@ 420 hours you unlock a secret mode on the crafty.

Stoner mode
List of unlocked features include:
- 420 degrees (Celsius) as a temperature.
- New Tie dye background on the app screen.
- Cheech and Chong “Hey man, it’s Dave” notification tone on the app.
- Screen display inverts screen at random intervals to mess with people.
- 30mins after bowl completion it will autodial pizzahut and place an order for you (because you will be too blazed to be fazed).
- Crafty memo pad will be available (you will need it after 420hrs of use).

Disclaimer: None of the above may happen if you reach 420 hours… I strongly discourage using the crafty for anything other than the herbs that are approved for use
