The Grasshopper Shipping Poll

Maybe the gh being assembled at 8000 feet in Colorado is trapping air inside the threads and then when it gets down to sea level, the trapped air inside expands and can no longer be unscrewed. Then it gets sent back to Colorado again , air releases the pressure and unscrews fine? Just spitballing, as I can't come up with anything.

So if I read that right, even if the back end would come off, without the screen it would still be useless?

Edit: Do these ship with the battery in the box or in the pen?

@Joel W. - Boulder is just about a mile high, not 8000 ft. Otherwise your explanation....was a good try.
Problem is, the GH is not an airtight container. I live at around 5000 feet, and when we travel to or from sea level, a sealed up shampoo bottle will show either positive or negative pressure on either end of the trip. But good spitballing....!

I'm finally starting to worry.
I received my Address Confirmation 2 weeks ago, no shipping notice, no change in Processed status on GH site, no response to numerous emails.
Seems as if they suddenly stopped shipping units?
More people receive units in the last day or two? (Sat. Or Mon.)

Been almost 3 weeks since address confirmation. At this point I just want GHL to get it right and be truthful in their updates.

Just examples, but YES this must be addressed, not saying the GH would do this but its possible if the battery gets to hot and goes nuclear. I hope they never have to deal with that, cause it can ruin lifes and the company they just started, both terrible things.

Those pictures are frightening. Here is an overview of e-cig disasters. It's interesting that a lot of them were caused from charging problems, especially with usb chargers.

The only feedback thus far from either of them was when the one with 3 hoppers said "I so far thoroughly satisfied". That was hours ago, neither has responded to requests for further info. Hope it's because they're too buzzed to write.
EDIT: The other guy (with the 2 hoppers) just said "Both look good, and have had zero problems so far."

I know I'm probably gonna open a can of worms here, but did you notice that the person that got 3 said one was early bird and at least one of the others was a preorder. I asked if he got 2 preorders but he never replied. Would these be the first preorders to be shipped?

I think as an early birder he was allowed to add stuff to his order later, even during pre-order time, but still get everything in the same shipment.

Just to bring up other concerns that I have for this device is that the PCB in the battery compartment is exposed.

In my personal past of electronics I have come across many battery compartments that have been filled with battery acid as batteries tend to leak after extensive and stressful usage. From listening to this device (it sounds like short burst shocks - possibly a capacitor or two...) it seems that they are utilizing high voltage and low amperage. (Battery is 3.7V 750mAh Lithium-Ion - Unsure of battery characteristics)

I would have more peace of mind if there was a plate seated above with an O-Ring to prevent leakage from damaging vital components. I understand that they can program a voltage check into the device, but it may not always be foolproof.

To clarify, thats photos of my GH's battery compartment, Ms. Ellens is still glued shut.

What's that gunk on the contact? Did this one get hot or is it the cosmetic dented/scratched or both. I can't keep score.

Ms. Clinton's came like that. Unsure why the coating/plating would be scraped off like that. The coating is probably used to get a better connection to the battery. This one also got hot at the dial end.

As for the black lines / smudges I don't know. Maybe grease used in production to fit parts.

The guy who received 2 hoppers today is me. Both arrived in good condition (no visible scratches, dents etc.) and perform every bit as well as I anticipated, if not better. However, one of them doesn't seem to be charging. I still need to try it with the other hopper's charge cable to see if the cable is the issue, but won't be able to do that until I get back home. The other hopper is still working flawlessly, and charged when I charged it earlier. I'll report back when I test the cable to see if that is the problem. I'll also probably write a short review when I've had more time to form a more complete opinion.

I was joking, since its so stuck it seemed glued, maybe grease but it looks scratched also, the pin that is, the grease should have been cleaned anyhow.

I like how on the last update they are threatening to increase pricing. They need to get their shit together first.

Yeah... If I was in charge there the employee that did this would be gone my verbal warning alone would make them quit.

That's really bad. For me reading this is the first time I truly felt negative vibes about ghl.

But hey still gotta keep in mind that I could never make it as far as they have! Hopefully they really are learning from the issues coming up... Not just Trevor ect.. But the whole team. And for us... Mind over matter! Coming from someone that lives with depressing people... Positivity and openmindedness can go a long way! That's why all my friends are more successful than me! Haha (or that's what I like to use as an excuse, lol)

I always sucked managing people, everyone works different and you have to keep people happy and motivated. I never got the hang of it before I quit that job.

Scratches are disappointing too... Though if the vape is as good as I dream it to be I'm not overly concerned this early in the game. After the price goes up it would be a different story.

I wonder if when things get worked out they will have a massive stock of refurbs for cheap... I hope it is cleared up before pre orders and I hope those early backers get some big discounts... Unknown Failures... Okay... Clearly Visible Scratches? Nope!

I will be pissed if my color ti is scratched. That's part of getting a color... It to make it look nicer...
