Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

I accidentally posted this in the Cloud thread since I was so done. But it applies here more.

So whoever said most owners of the VXCs are busy enjoying your unit you weren't kidding, I don't think I've posted on this forum since I received mine. 9.9/10 for me, only improvement would be a replaceable glass downstem but I'm not too worried about it and I'd gladly pay for the repair in a few years. This vape is a monster. I love the VapeXNail to the point of me not buying a digital enail on a in person deal. I need more of these! Only have one right now but my fingers are adjusting to the heat of holding it for continuous dabs, that being said 2 would be nice and I'm starting to get concerned about glass cracking- the heating method makes me less worried tho.

It really should put it in perspective when I denied a deal for a $100 sublimator full enail/herb kit new. I just don't need a new vape after this.

Extremely excited to start trying some glass builds for this monster. I love the VxN I just want the full glass airway which will be nice. Might try a 2 hole kinked minitube style so it seems like I'm hitting a minitube on this guy. Manifold should be good soon so my pencil is going wild.

But yea, not enough positive stuff to say about this- I mean the $100 sublimator was tempting but I just thought to myself- why? Just get more nails for the Evo. Also huge shoutout to the person who sold me mine, really appreciated as I can't get them for decent prices in canada and I would have never tried this setup for using an enail- I was completely sold on the classic enail coil style builds for dabbing until this.

Edit: Should say that I have used the sublimator in both modes before- I think it just wastes material like nobodies business, could never imagine a justified use in my mindset

I kinda feel like a large chamber tube would be a nice sit so I can get big clears off the all glass airway. Then for dabs something more like a normal minitube made to fit a VXC, super excited to make these as I see this as the best vaporizer on the market hands down.

Edit3: I should also add that the fact my dispensary now has 40$ oz of medium qual shake from their jars is pretty damn nice.

Yes, the dry piece only. Yes, the whip is what I meant. I tried inverting the evo, but it seemed more likey to get stuck or damaged, at the least was a bit awkward. I am using the med setting (straight up), herb is from a dispensary, not sure if its organic, but was top shelf. I grind well in a wooden grinder, about 1/2-3/4 full, and I usually inhale below the whistle point. I noticed that after 3 or 4 my lungs are a bit bothered...
I wondered about the stainless, maybe it emits something, just initially? I thought about firing it in my stove just to get it off-gassed.. not sure about the screen connections, but I cant see welding.

Although dry heat can irritate your lungs you should be aware that THC itself is a lung irritant. The EVO gives you a very large dose, very quickly, which can make it seem more irritating than other less effective vapes. The EVO was made for use with water tools. Don't be afraid to invert it, it was made for that. There is a slight taper to the GonG to help prevent joint lock. If is does ever get stuck, gently rock back and forth, NEVER twist. I wouldn't fire your EVO in your stove, it will kill it . . . ;) The air path is all glass and sealed. The ELBs should come to you clean however you may soak them in ISO to clean them.

@t-dub gave good advice. Have you tried a lower heat setting? Start low on the dial and work up to see what is best for your style; @Cannabis Connoisseur above mentions that his is set at 9 and I know he gets big clouds. Also, be sure you're taking a slow relaxed draw. You don't have to pull hard on the EVO.

For myself - I have a sensitive throat and esophagus - good water filtration is essential. The other day I used a friend's Extreme-Q - what I used before the Cloud - and I was shocked at how much more harsh the vapor was than what I've become accustomed to with the EVO. You probably want a piece that has very good diffusion, to hydrate the vapor. Most of VXL's HT's do this fairly well, but there are other pieces on the market (incl 3rd-party HT's) that have larger or double chambers and more action, pretty much in the same price range. Some allow for ice, which I really like (I have an HT like that, but it is no longer sold). And don't be concerned about inverting the EVO, just be careful until you get the hang of it. A large number of us use it inverted all the time; I've never had or can't even remember reading of anyone having a problem with that.

Re the stainless, I assume you're ref'g to the ELB. No, it isn't a factor at all in your concern (other than keeping them clean).

Hope that helps. Get a good water piece that directly attaches (avoid a whip), experiment with your technique, and you'll probably find a lot of improvement.

I just unboxed mine. I don't have a hydratube yet, but I have a nice glass piece with an 18mm female end and it fits perfectly. This piece I have is very nice and does the job very well. This vapor quality is unlike anything I have experienced. By far the cleanest vapor I've ever tried.

I have to invert the unit and on the first hit my ELB cap came off and went into my pipe's stem lol. So.... yea. I made sure the ELB is super tight before I put it in from now on. I get the complaint that inverting the EVO is awkward. It is. Maybe it'll just take some getting used to. If not, I'll invest in one of their hydratubes in the future.

It goes through a lot of material quickly. I'm used to the solo which I get at least 5 good hits and 5 more weak ones out of each load. With these bullets this material is toasted after 3-4 hits for me. But they are 3 wonderful, flavorful, comfortable hits. This thing is LEGIT!

I have two minor complaints. For one, the entire room stinks like neoprene from the sleeve. I'm hoping it goes away after a few uses. Does it? If it doesn't that sleeve's gotta go. I know the unit is hot but I'll take my chances because the smell is strong and unpleasant and kind of negates the clean vapor production a bit. My other minor complaint is that I find getting the ELB out can be a bit uncomfortable. One time the cap came off and the used material went all over. I need to just use a tiny screwdriver to kind of pry it up. Still, it's getting annoying fast. But this unit isn't going to be something I use often. This is going to be what I bust out once in awhile to have an extra special experience so I'm ok with doing a little extra work for vapor quality this good.

And the vapor quality is VERY good. A++ from me. Very happy with it.

If the ELB caps are loose you can take something like the blunt end of a sharpie marker and use it to expand them a bit so they fit tighter. Or even a few bits of flower between the side of the lid and ELB can help. Personally I ditched the neoprene. IMHO it was an unnecessary nuisance and I just stuck with 3 wrist bands on the body above the heat dial.

Others here who've had a stinky sleeve (mine wasn't) reported that after a while it dissipated. I use it, but could easily do w/o it; I keep it in place w/3 bands. I've got only bands on my other Cloud, from the dial to the top, and that works fine.

About the loose cap, out of the dozen ELB's I have there is one loose cap. If you haven't yet, try just switching the cap to another bowl. Or like @t-dub wrote, give it a little spread with the bottom end of a Sharpie. And re removing the ELB, my thumbnail works fine but there is also a very inexpensive nifty little tool that easily slides between the ELB lip and the joint and lifts the ELB right out. It's posted on this or the previous Cloud thread, but I couldn't find it. Someone else here with a gift for locating stuff like this will probably post a link to it.

I'm surprised you're going thru herb quickly. Many here remark on the economy of the EVO due to how thoroughly it vapes. Be sure you're not loading more than needed, and that the heat setting is not higher than you need. If you want, you can get your ABV very dark brown; it just keeps giving. Or maybe you're just one of those guys with big lungs.

You'll get accustomed to using the EVO inverted. It's only awkward at first, but light and easy to handle. Never had a joint lock inverted, either.

Glad you're enjoying your EVO. It will grow on you.

Thanks for the advice, guys! Such a polite a friendly community here.

I knew the longer bowl life was an issue I was having on MY end. Not the device's. With a little more practice, I'm getting much more longevity from my ELB loads. I think I went wrong in two key areas.

1) I turned up the heat too much. I have DBV experience and right away put the temp at around 7-8/10. Way too hot. I found going a smidge UNDER half way on the temperature dial was best for the kind of flow I'm generating.

2) I packed my first several ELBs way too tight. I found that I don't need to pack the material down much at all. I'm getting about 4-5 strong, clean hits and then about 5 more progressively weaker hits if I just fill the thing 80% without packing it down at all and I get nice even flow and heating. The ABV comes out a nice even toasty shade of golden brown instead of the splotchy dark brown that I was getting with my first few loads.

Now... as far as the ELB themselves... both of the ones that came with my unit have loose caps I guess because even though I pressed them down tight I'm still having issues with the cap falling off every so often during a hit.. I'm not crazy about this system but again some of the confusion is definitely on my end and I'm sure I'll eventually be singing it's praises once all this comes together for me. After a few loads it sticks together a little bit easier. But I'm still having a problem with the cap coming off every so often during hits. As with anything, there's a bit of a learning curve so I figured out I just have to be a little more gentle with how I invert the EVO into my water pipe and it's more or less solved.

Put the cap on the table ring down and just press on to of with a finger. Thins will expand the mesh so it will fit better and also it will make a little more room for your herbs and reshape the mesh to a better shape especially for small loads as the would lift up into he center dome instead of the sides where they would just mess up the ELB walls faster.
The same thing can be done with the other larger half of the ELB (just be careful its possible to break it) to make it possible for it to stand on its own on the bottom.

I would love for you to only put a quarter full elb in and try that. You only want enough herb in the elb to cover the
bottom. This is a device designed with conservation in mind. In the words of @oldiebutgoodie " less is much more when concerning EVO usage." Stop filling the elbs up and let me know your results! Also lay your elb on the side and roll it until you bend it ,focus on the area near the cap. This should fix the loose sock syndrome!

..hello all.
I'm looking for some tips/technique for using the EVO inverted on a larger piece.
I have a sidetree,..it's nice but it seems to fill up too quick and basically overflow an unnecessary amount of crucial vapor after the draw..basically it's full before I am.
Iv resorted to using a 14" gridded donut EFS..w/ an 18mm joint...the waters just skimming the perc and it stacks way up.
My question is the draw on this.
..I'm not having a comfortable time filling the can and clearing it pulling like I would my HT.
Can anyone advise a technique to comfortably fill and clear this piece?.
Faster,slower,..hotter,..cooler,...???
...it's definitely not a sipping experience,..I know..it's more full blown....
...the HT works well for casual sessions..but the EFS' volume done correctly I think would take on new levels and test limits.
Thanks!

The HT's are more of a flow-thru kinda piece. What works best for me is to take a steady relaxed draw until I'm near full and then lift the HT to clear it with the last of my draw; I don't lose any vapor. I also have two of the Mobius bubblers, the smaller Ion and the Micro (nothing Micro about it, is the name his idea of humor?) with its big can. With both, I take a primer hit to start the vapor flowing and then another hit pretty much the same way I do with the HT's, steady and relaxed, as the can fills. I don't have the lungs to clear on that second draw, so I clear the can with a third hit. The EVO can handle hard pulls w/o skipping a beat (or losing heat), but that isn't necessary.

I experimented a bit more today. I have to take it easy actually haha. But I'm finding you guys are right about less is more. I found 25% a little too thin in the vapor department for my personal preference, but keeping it between 25-50% might be just right. I still have to play with temp and flow to get it perfect.

That's smart. Offhand I can't think of anyone who just picked an EVO up for the first time and it fit the technique they were accustomed to. The EVO is very versatile, but the user usually needs to experiment a bit (or more) to dial in precisely the technique they like best. Because the range of choice is broad. As VXL says, "it's a connoisseur's vape". It's not a Big Mac. You're exactly on the right track.

Thanks, man. Yea I let some friends try this bad boy out, and because its awesome, of course they were taking impressive rips right off the bat. They arent big vapers and to me, thats what's awesome. This thing will impress all but the very most cynical of smokers and it's easy for a beginner to use. But it's got so much versatility that an intermediate vaper (me) or an experienced vaper can really fine tune it and make this thing sing for them.

Now I had a sweet glass turbine water pipe I was using. This sucker's big, about 12 inches. You take huge, deep rips with it. I wasn't a fan of inverting the EVO though. So I just got my hydratube and I picked the Honeycomb. Now it's a whole new ballgame. I find with the airflow that piece generates I have a lot more precision. If I turn the temp up just a tiny bit to maybe 6-6.5 I can get huge, thick hits. But they're even. Whereas with my turbine I was toasting the material a bit too much. Now if I turn it down just a touch more I get consistent, softer, easier to tolerate hits that taste wonderful. So that's probably where I'm going to go.

So far I'm enjoying the temp at about 4.5 with a steady flow. I don't pull so hard that it whistles but it's still a solid flow, not too slow. If I load the ELB around that 35% range (somewhere right between 25% and 50%) I'm consistently getting 6 full flavored hits (a crazy high amount IMO) and then another 4-6 that start to taper off as they go. And the material still comes out a toasty golden not all cruddy brown. So far, I'm very happy with this purchase and I'm looking forward to experimenting more and seeing what else I will discover.

Terrific. It's always great to hear from a new user that is finding the magic.

Quick question though: You refer to temp settings of 6 and 4.5. Do you mean at the absolute max settings? Rarely does anyone go above 3pm, and some units don't get any hotter above that. Might you be ref'g to someplace else on the dial? Or did I misunderstand?

Same here. I had my launch Evo bamboo replaced and I usually had it set between 2:00 and 2:30. The replacement bamboo and updated firmware has me dialing in about 2:30 and 3:00.

Anyway I keep seeing the "bamboo" reference regarding the EVO...what does that mean? I mean it cant have real bamboo it (shrug) so does it mean something that is beyond my old ass?

That's referring to a nickname for the the glass tube inside the Evo, which has a few constriction points inside that look similar to bamboo. Real bamboo is blocked off twice per 'joint' at each node, the Evo's tube is obviously open to allow airflow and the constriction points affect airflow in the tube.

Excellent...thanks much appreciated.

I got an email regarding the Final Release Double Swagger and the SWagger Showercap and I am in the glass market so I am interested. The question I have is that I have the Hydrabomb and would either one, both or neither, be a different experience than my hydrabomb with the EVO. I know it is kind of a loaded and opinionated type of question I am just curious if anyone had some feedback.
