Just got my alfa today. So impressed by how discrete and efficient it is. Works great.

Thanks to advice from here, I ordered some glass mflb stems to go with it. They fit perfectly. Im really so impressed by the vape, especially when using a stem. Adding the stem really cools it down quite a bit, I found it a huge improvement. Really appreciate the suggestions here!

Hey all so the hydrotube from sunshine store arrived and the things huge, I'll be interested to see how it connects to the alfa without an adapter [i'm hoping it is one with accurate sizing].

I'm wondering if i can use the tube without water? Also just to be prepared I'd like to confirm the pre-vape prep with a new alfa, basically leave it run with an empty oven for one cycle? [which is until the cut off turns it off?] Cheers. Looks like its all happening over this end- finally.

Awesome! To connect it to you alfa, just flip the mouthpiece upside down and hope it fits snugly. Yes you can use the tube without water. Flip the alfa upside down without the mouthpiece, open the oven lid, set it to high, and let it run a full cycle.

Thanks you've been a huge help with my last few posts, is a full cycle until the auto-shut off kicks in? Also i'm buying pipe cleaners now but can I get the colourful craft ones or am i better of with the plain ones made specifically for cleaning pipes?

ok i bought the real deal: http://www.amazon.co.uk/PACK-PARKER...sim_201_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0WQE9B4E6DEZAFHPKAP0

Amazon in uk is offering £10 pounds off an order above £50 today only.

I definitely suggest not buying the craft pipe cleaners. Those aren't made of the same material, and generally are made cheaply, so sometimes pieces of the pipe cleaner fall off. And you definitely don't want pipe cleaner fibers in the airpath or oven. And yes, a full cycle is until the auto shutoff.

OK. Will do, vineetvel. I sure appreciate your help through all of this. You've been really reliable. I'll let you know what happens. In the meantime, it's LB or nothing!

So, here's the latest on the defective Alfa I got on ebay: I wrote to Randy, who is a very nice fellow. He did say that "they" (not sure if he means Goboof or the puffitup site) cannot warranty any products bought on an auction site. Asked me if my Alfa logo was white or gray, white being the older one. My logo is gray, but apparently there can be issues with some of those, too. He said I should contact Vape World again (I had already contacted them before, and they did not want to warranty the unit, either), so that's my next step. Having to leave town tomorrow, however, so this will have to be on hold till I get back next week.

Contact vapeworld and just try to be up front and honest with them..not saying you weren't but I bought a vapium summit and it was defective and it was purchased from a lhs who doesn't do returns or anything and vapeworld handled the whole process for me..they gave me full credit to purchase whatever I wanted..it took a week or so but totally hassle free..

Oh you're logo is grey? Yeah that's the new one. Sucks that it's defective, but that's probably why the dude was selling it in the first place. If puffitup won't do anything, I guess your only options are to be upfront with vapeworld as subway suggested, or figuring it out with goboof.

I got everything now alfa, alcohol and percolator but I can't see how to attach the alfa to the percolator?

I reversed the mouthpiece [which I can't get back out but that's fine i'm sure i can ease it out with a touth pick or something] and I can't see anyway to connect the ends? The sunshine store pinnacle pro percolator just has these huge holes either side as in the picture:

I was told I wouldn't need an adapter for it so any ideas?
thx, really excited to get it going just waiting for my bro to pick a day.

The narrow part of the perc should just fit over the upside down mouthpiece. It's a loose fit but didn't leak smoke. But I also have the real pinnacle pro perc.

Reverse the mouthpiece, but don't press it in all the way, only a tiny bit so that it stays in place. Then put the ground glass side of the water pipe on top of the reversed mouthpiece. Hopefully that fits. If it doesn't, I recommend buying the mflb water pipe whip.

Hey hey, My Alfas continue to be major cloud kickers with bubbler. Mostly just half packing it recently, still nice and ripped! Anyway I put together a new case for team Alfa since all my stuff was getting cluttered, hehe. I took a battery cases and cut the inside out. Prefect!

Here is a pic of setup. If you look close you can see 2 mouth pieces. One has a ecig silicon cap cut to fit on Alfa cap, this is for 14mm bubbler as it fits just right. The other cap has Magic Flight wood stem for on the go to help with cooling.

Nope it's not even close, how can it be so far off? I can it hold over the top of the Alfa mouthpiece and and there's a couple mm over the sides, if I take the mouthpiece off the alfa and squeeze it a little into the perc it just fits which means the perc is about a half a cm to long on the frosted end.

The whip is £20, I might as well have bought the full price perc in the uk. Would a 14.4mm - 18.8mm Glass Fitter narrow it enough or are those the wrong sizes?

http://www.vapefiend.co.uk/14-4mm-18-8mm-glass-fitter.html

If I can't work it out with the seller i'll have to neg feedback them to warn others it doesn't always fit the alfa.

Mine doesn't fit either, which is why I bought the mflb whip. And you definitely don't want that adapter, it won't fit into the bubbler or the alfa. I think you're only solution is to get a whip, or d.i.y. something to make the alfa mouthpiece thicker. A commenter above has a piece of silicone over his mouthpiece that he says fits perfectly into a 14mm bubbler.

Can I ask what ecig that silocone cap is from? Is it a standard size I can ask for? How do I get one and do I need to glue it on or just rap it round the mouthpiece? Thanks

Would the one I have still fit a pinnacle pro? If it would then it's fair enough because that's what he marketed as and I took the risk so its not the sellers fault. But if is the wrong size to fit the pro too then it's not as described.

Yeah I just measured it, there picture says it's 14.5mm but I measured 18mm- so this wouldn't fit a pro either right? Having said that the pro has a bottlenose shaped mouthpiece so it could be less fussy about squeezing into a specific gap size.
Cheers guys.

What do you mean the one you have? Do you have a mflb whip already? The pinnacle pro hydrotube is definitely 14mm, not 18mm.

No I mean the sunstore perc I have that's to big on the frosted end, would it fit the pro since that is what its marketed for? I'm trying to see if i've got a legitimate reason to complain to the seller, it wouldn't be fair to complain because it doesn't work on a product he isn't marketing it for [alfa].

K, i gotta sleep its 5.30am here. Thanks again for the help will get back to this tomorrow.

Yes it would fit the pinnacle pro, since the pro uses a 14mm adapter. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to complain to the seller.

I don't recall the brand of ecig for my silicon cap since it was a friend's cig. Most all ecigs are same size, so I'd presume as long a the silicon cap is flexible it will fit over the Alfa cap. No glue, I just cut out the closed end and slid it over Alfa cap. As for bubblers, I have two 14mm and can say neither fits same, one is more flush and sealed with standard cap turned around as mentioned above. Hope this helps, I have whips to but never use em as I like direct connection to bubbler

Hello, I picked up an Alfa just yesterday, but I think I might have a dud here. I tried loosely packing at first and it produced no vapor, and then I tried packing a bit tighter (using the mouth piece to tamp it down a bit), and even then on the low setting there was nothing. After 15 minutes (spread throughout 3 sessions) I emptied the contents of the chamber and it's still fairly green.

I put that same material into my DaVinci and well it seemed to work fine in there after the 3 sessions...

I want to point out that the unit seems to get quite hot to hold, and even the mouth piece nearly burns my lips a bit, which is very strange considering it doesn't seem to vape the material. This is the version with the grey logo, which I believe is suppose to be the latest.

Is any of that normal, is there anything I should try, or should I go back to the vendor?

The unit is getting hot so it should be working. Try this. Fill the chamber up, and pick it down as tightly as you can, add more herb, and pack again. Do that until its full. Then, add a second screen on top of the chamber and press that down until its tight. Then turn the vape on to medium and see if you get vapor. With that method (can be used to half pack as well), I get huge clouds of strong/thick vapor. Also, try drawing slower (think thick milkshake), and see if that changes anything. I've gotten better results from this than the ascent by the way, I don't think you got a dud because the unit is getting hot and so is the mouthpiece as you draw.

Edit: after you put the second screen on top, use the small end of the mouthpiece to press the screen down tightly. Honestly, with this vape, I've only gotten great results when the herb is packed tight.

Hey all might finally be giving the alfa a run with my bro very soon.

Just wondering where the screens go? Is it one underneath, pack it, then one on top? Or does one go under the mouthpiece? Thanks will update you guys on how it goes.

One on the bottom of the oven, nothing in the mouthpiece. You can put a second screen on top of the herb, I find that it gives you better vapor and lets you pack it tighter (press down with the mouthpiece), and keeps the metal lid piece clean, but its definitely not necessary.

Deleted Member 1442,
ok so after all the help I got here I figure I owe an update.

So it was kind of a mixed bag trying the alfa out first time.

First thing is that it used A LOT of weed. I here about people talking about vape efficiency vs combustion and I've now come to realize your probably talking about rolling pure? Whereas we roll with tobacco...

So my bro said it was a different kind of high and sometimes he would prefer it and sometimes he wouldn't depended on your mood. But then later when we half packed it he said that he would 'smoke' pure every day if he could afford it but it was very weed intensive compared to mixed rollies.

Second thing is that my brothers tolerance is pretty high, I hadn't realized but he is smoking up to 10 double skin joints a day but he said its gone up because of recent work stress.

Anyway he was feeling the effects a lot more lightly then me but he was definitely feeling it, me on the other hand I felt like i'd had a full days session round a mates house after just one shared half bowl. [a full session would be about 8-10 single skin mixed rollies between me and a mate].

So my brother said he put about £20 worth into the oven, roughly from what I saw it came to about a 3/4 full oven and after putting a screen on top and pushing it right down with tweezers so it was very well compressed it came out nice and browned.

So this is avery expensive way to smoke in the uk imo.

Unless we messed up somewhere? We got about 15 to 20 short draws each out of a half packed oven which from other peoples posts i've read seems about average.

Personally I'm feeling the benefits physically, because of my disability I usually feel like i've been hit by a truck after a heavy session but today I didn't have any of the grogginess or muscle pain I normally get from combustion [obvious i'm very sensitive to the carcinogens and it's exactly the same with combusting tobacco for me btw.]

I had an acute headache though and some other pains but imo this is how I feel when I overdo things and have to much.

So i'm in a bit of a pickle, for my brother it is obviously to expensive but for me it is way to strong for my personal limit, i have a very very low tolerance.

I didn't really like the feeling of going from 1 to 10 from sharing half an oven. Can I realistically use this or is the oven to big for me?

What are peoples thoughts on this?
