Crisis 1 (modded and tweaked) is still the benchmark. IMO.

Are you saying you haven't played Half Life 2 or Portal?
If so, boy are you missing out.

I KNOW... and i will play Portal real soon, and ive played Half Life many many years ago, some years after Quake... Im a long time pc user. But i was anti gamer for maybe 25 years, since i was 14 on the great old Amiga but now im back;)

and i play stuff based on the cryengine, like Evolve... and Crysis 1 and Far Cry1 were very impressive, no doubt... but i would get a more pretty game with Crysis 3 or Ryse Son of Rome (hah) today...

Metro 1/2 Redux are favos when it comes to aestethics AND atmosphere AND gameplay:D

I'm not that much of a gamer these days.
Wish I had time to play half the games you listed there.
I have heard great things about Mordor ...

As far as recommendations I'm so out of touch.
Metro and Skyrim the two stand out titles.

Oh Alien is nice too. A headphones game for sure. Some of the best ambient sound I have heard in a game.

yeah a time thing, i had far too much time after final exams:)

Dishonored could be a short sharp shock for you... 7-8 hours without the dlc and its massivily loved and a quite open game :)

Skyrim is too rpg for me, Witcher 3 feels more action rpg like, better combat and animations and more actionish i guess... and people love it, ive only given it around 8 hours tho...

Portal 1+2 is on my list

Metro is great, check Metro Redux, some weekend you got the time. It is a visually polished Metro 1-2, really stunning and a game worth replaying:)

And its great with breaks, gets me hungry like periods without good music, good parties, sex, drugs, alcohol, gaming, anything... and games can almost be the worst of em all... evil, time thieving;)

And i had more than 20 years where i maybe gamed 20 hours per year, max, so its great to be back. Love some of the universes, the level can be up with the best comics and movies. I love the imagination and creation of universes and storytelling AND ITS INTERACTIVE:) kinda best part heheh

im 8 hours into it, you cant shoot your way out, its more creepy/stealth, i should get into it, great graphics and universe and the developers should have had alot of freedom

it should be worth it:) a gem to some at least, and good for me to get away from kill em all games only i liked that a lot about Thief and Dishonored... (that i didnt have to kill anybody)

Deus Ex may be up your alley, but I saw you said you couldn't get into it.

Hitman game's may be up your alley. Hitman Blood Money is a FANTASTIC game, have spent countless hours on it, and I'm so hyped for the new one. Absolution is the most recent, and SquareEnix ruined it...I/O is back for this new one (They did the originals)

I couldn't really get into Alien, but it's great, the ambient sound and atmosphere are top notch. Literally just don't like playing it as it gets me a bit too nervous lol.

Dishonored is great, I never could finish it really though as I would get distracted by other stuff. And i don't feel like replaying the mission with the High Overseer for the millionth time lol I've started the game so much but never can commit.

I HATED Shadow Of Mordor, as a LoTR fan, the atmosphere and stuff was great. The gameplay didn't do enough to warrant me playing to be honest, a glorified Assassin's Creed. I don't know I was overhyped I think for it. It reminded me of Arkham City just worse. There is a limit to the depth of combat in games like this. The Nemesis system or whatever really was kind of a gimmick, they remember your fights? "Oy, I remember you!" "Com' here bugga, not happening again" "I will crush you this time!" And what is the point of killing warchiefs if they don't die and simply remember you later? I don't know I just did not really like it, it may be up someone's alley though. It has some pretty good reviews and lots of people like it, so I'm probably the minority, but it's probably good for an opinion that isn't gushing over it which seem few and far between.

Wish I could trade games on steam I would give it to someone in a heartbeat.

Summer Games Done Quick is on this week. Speedrunning lots of classics worth tuning in.

Edit: To the guy looking for stealth action games, if you don't have 8.99 and have Steam, I will buy you Hitman Blood Money, it's that good.

I could never get into fallout...

I Loved Oblivion, Loved Skyrim, Couldnt get into fallout 3 (never played FO-NV).

I must've put maybe 15-20 hours into it, the whole time feeling confused that I wasn't really feeling it like Oblivion...

The only thing I can put it down to is that I found the combat to be very, very, very meh...
It seemed like it was a game of run in, use that bullet time thingy (VATS?) and if you didnt kill everything you were SOL and had to run away till that recharged, because just shooting at something seemed about as useful as forcefully sneezing at it...

It was no fun to explore when all the combat felt like a chore - I could spend hours just roaming about in Oblivion/Skyrim, not necessarily looking for combat, but just dealing with things as they popped up...

It's nowhere near as deep of an RPG, but I loved the absolute tits out of Borderlands - it's smaller on almost every scale (except the bazillion guns), but for me, it was actually fun to play :D

I'm really torn about fallout 4...
I know I'll buy it, but when?
There's not really much point waiting on reviews - based on Bethesdas track record They're basically guaranteed to say something along the lines of "a few bugs, some of them somewhat serious, but it's acceptable in a game of this size, scope, and incredible quality"

I assume the combat will be similar to FO3, so

I personally would've rathered TES-6 before FO4...

Maybe you should try the DLC for Dishonored, Witches of Brigmore is a quite refined version of Dishonored, and you wont have Overseer Deja Vu, it will be something new:)

And yeah committing, being open, giving shit a chance:) Bioshock 1+2 was really worth it for me, the games were kinda old and dated and i had my difficulties... but like with some movies, music, people, it was so worth it!

I played Absolution, before being open to stealth games, it was pretty, but no, not that fun... I live close to I/O and respect them, so im looking forward to the next one and will give it a chance... friends played Blood Money and talk real nicely about it, but im a gfx junky, ill wait for the new one.

And thanks for the offer, but kinda too late (gfx are outdated, sorry) come over and play Dishonored, ill get you high here:D

I got 8 - 14 hours into Deus Ex, cant say excaclty why i didnt finish, ppl hype it,and it should be something for me, but next one, if it will be good:)

I had a problem with Mordor too, i started PC gaming with ACreed/Arkham, so it should be up my alley, but ive given it several chances, but it wasnt that rewarding, ill give it a last chance tho... it seem to divide people like Aliens too... some really love it...

And yeah steam should have a swap/give away feature, agreeed!!!!

im looking a at blood money vids on youtube and it looks kindafine (compared to older game like Bioshock/ACreed1/Arkham Asylum). i hope ill give it a chance, it should be worth it, ive only heard good stuff, and it could warm me up for the next hitman:)

Heard rumours that some of the guys behind Rage should help on the shooting part of Fall Out 4... from the videos the shooting looked allrite... i havent bothered with the older FOs for many resaons, im not into real RPG, just action RPG, till now... hope it will change...

And i love Bethesda! FO4 will be a big game, and probably not bug free, but i "trust" them more than most others....

I tried all 3 Borderlands, its should be me, but havent gotten more than 8-10 hours into any of em, should be worth it tho...

Mafia 2 (very much like GTA but not quite as sandboxy unfortunately) it's a very good-looking and cinematic game. voice acting is top notch, the whole game feels like an interactive godfather movie. very well-done, authentic atmospheres to each of the time periods you play durin, and both the driving and shooting gameplay feels pretty solid. def play it on hard though because its a walk in the park on normal.

Kinda enjoyed the game as well (years ago), probably due to graphics and atmosphere it was pretty solid. I also felt that the shooting was far superior to GTA IV, so i actually finished Mafia 2. Not that totally loved the game, but it was fine in many ways. There is media talking about a sequel...

assassins creed 2 - on back burner because i got but out on it because its so repetitive, seems to be common in most of ubis recent titles

I started pc gaming with AC2, 3-4 years ago, and i was almost a fanboy for a year or so, till i started comparing it to other games like: Arkham / Bioshock and Dishonored. REAL INTERACTIVE GAMES / REAL GAMEPLAY imsucha fascist :/

And its a pretty franchise, but probably also just a money machine like FIFA.

The young people ive been talking games with the last years loved it for the graphics, exploration, settings, roof jumping / free running and combat... and for it being grimey and gruesome (and not too much).

But its patronizing: take this mans hand, follow him and do what he says. Its not very open in the core gameplay. I feel ive outgrown it, mainly just checking it for graphics.

Far Cry 4 is also direct of copy of Far Cry 3, with new graphics, story, setting and very lil changes else wise...

resident evil 5 - i wish the games would return to being dark and horror instead of daytime action movie BS, but its still fun on co-op.
CHECK OUT EVIL WITHIN, the game is directed by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Pure luv:love:

So no TF2'ers?

Not me, but it is mighty popular around:)

Just added ya buddy, my name is O'brien on steam with George Costanza as the pic lol

We should find other FC TF2'ers and play every now and then. I usually play in the evenings, but I've been hopping on during the day to fulfill my contracts. Invite me whenever you want to play TF2. It's all I play it seems like.
