OK.
My official entry... since nobody has used it.
AromaZapSSS is my vote if "AromaZap" is too archaic for you guys.
What can I say. I am not fast to embrace change.
The reference to older units can change, as they are being refered to...
(walnut brass.... all wood SSS Zap.. etc)
hehe .. sorry for the boring "entry" guys

all good in the hood.
ok,

so I tried to bail out of making a choice yesterday but I will feel stupid in I do not at least throw something out there.

since this zap is much fancier than zaps of the past I am going in a slightly different direction. I am going to go against my normal grain and toss out a idea that is short and sweet. Remember, a more sophisticated fancier version.

Le Zap.

at first I was going to use St. Zap as for the stainless reference, but Le Zap just had a fancier ring to it. It also rolls off the tongue better.

I would like to nickname Rick. From now on to me he is St. Rick. This is because when he delivers these it feels like x-mas. You notice I left out the OLD. This came about for me when I came up with the St. Zap name. And it works with the stainless reference.

The Le Zap will also be a good name for when Rick is finally able to ship to our friends in Europe they will appreciate (at least the ones in France)

there done. Now I can stop obsessing.

good luck everyone!

ps vitolo, I have a tendancy to like old school stuff. probably showing my age a bit. classics are good.

Why change the name at all? I say They should just be called Aromazaps.
So Rick, any word on what the SSS retrofit is gonna cost, for those of us who may be interested?

I've noticed a very wooden taste, almost smoke like coming off of my unit... should I be worried?
I've had it on for about 4 hours total, is there some chance it's still burning in?

did you wax to close to heat port... or drip essential oil nearby?
I don't think so, I've only had it a day and admittedly didn't plug it in for an extended period of time until today

@turtles does it smell herbal at all? Myrtle has a smell for the first few days you use it. Smells like bay leaves, and mine was pretty strong at first.

@rick Aromazap Ceraline. it has a light vaporish sound to it.

You are smelling the wood or possibly the ZaPolish. You have had the unit for a couple days and only on 4 hours? She would like to be left on 24/7 for the first few days at least.
There are no chemicals in the Zap. I am not sure what offputting means? We do have a tiny amount of authentic French Lavender essential oil or lemon essential oil in the ZaPolish.
Bottom line is send it back if you do not like it for a full refund plus return shipping.
Name the ceramic insulated heatport Zap contest is over.
Lots of interesting names and I especially liked the explanations and synonyms for all of them. Many tugged at me but Zaplady and I both agree we like the original RockZap pick. Perhaps the concrete cup was only to inspire the name, who knows?
RockZap, solid as a rock.
Thank you all for your contributions that showed us again the diversity of FC members. Some serious thought went into all of the choices which is greatly appreciated. No apologies for picking our original choice. I had no clue we would do that yesterday.
The first of the traditional wood insulated Aromazap with SS heatport AND SS stem tips should be up tomorrow. I will also have a discount code in my signature for FC members and lurkers that will apply to the total shopping cart.
The ceramic insulated version will be waiting on Beta tester feedback before release, hopefully by the end of the coming week.
Thanks again to all who contributed. It was fun.

I had a far more hectic weekend than anticipated and didn't even medicate much.
I guess by off-putting I just meant that it was very strong and not something I'm used to, I've got her on the a adapter on my windowsill and it seems that the odor is in fact dissipating. Still nervous but I did a couple stems and the potency from so little was shocking, in a good way. :)

In Honor of Zap Behinds
Behind every great Zap.....
....is a Zap Behind!
Let us not overlook the rear end of the Zap.
We always show a gleaming facial portrait type shot of our Zaps....
When there is indeed a great deal of beauty sitting at Mr. Zap's back door!

There is great beauty here.. no "ifs, ands, or ... BUTTS"! (Zap Butt that is.)
There is no finer derriere to be seen in the Vaporizer world, so let those girls do the "CAN - CAN"
(for you kids... the can-can is a french dance from the 40's that accentuated the posterier view)

I love it Vito! :D

Turtles I had that problem with my first zap and only until recently did I realize that was all zapolish. the smell just isnt for me. I asked Rick to hold the zapolish this time so my cherry SSS does not have that smell and I use Buzz Butter which is very plain and has no added fragrance and that works just as well without the smell ;)

interesting, I hadn't applied any yet, but I'll see how I feel afterwards, maybe that was it
it does seem to be lesser in feel after every hit

I think the name is good. I like OG/classic names are good.

I cant wait until the beta testers are done and these are ready!

Received my RockZap (1st and only Zap) last week and have spent the w/e getting my groove with it...Wow! What a brilliant device! After a full day and night of heating I was pulling some nice hits but after a few days and a really good session on Friday night with a few mates it has been constantly ripping thick clouds! Very impressed with the wood also...I've been polishing it often and the detail is really starting to show nicely...I had some pictures to post but on a second look they're quite blurry (I wonder why haha :p) so I'll take some more shots of this stunning unit and throw em up later this week...

Time for a stem and a beer...Many thanks Rick for this beautiful Zap!

i've been wanting to try my Zap with some type of water filtration, but a lot of the glass i see is so large and very expensive. any suggestions on relatively inexpensive (less than 50 bucks?) pieces?
i apologize if this is inappropriate for this thread.

Don't want to be a buzz kill over the excitement of the ceramic blanket, BUT that shit is very hazardous, most cite it as worse than asbestos. Just Google it your self " ceramic blanket dangers " . Rick for your own safety don't use it in your shop, even wearing a mask is okay, but the particles go everywhere and every time you move they will be disturbed and you will breath them.
I know the ceramic blanket is not in the air path, but would you use asbestos?.. no, so why use something potentially worse.
Here is the label from kaowool, a popular ceramic blanket warning of the dangers:

Not to blow the buzz kill but I just got off the phone before reading your post. The Ceramic blanket we use is a relatively new product. Alcoa is now using the product primarily because it passes all California Hazardous Material specs relative to ceramic insulating blankets and particulate release. I do not yet have the spec sheet but should by tomorrow.

That is one of the many great things about raw materials available in todays world. Manufacturers are constantly improving them so they can sell Globally and to states like California with the most stringent product safety requirements.

The person helping me, besides everything else he is doing for us, is very big on product safety for many reasons.

Kinda funny in a way for anyone to believe we would be following ANY kind of hazardous path after what we have been through on FC the last couple years.
