A buddy of mine sent me some carb caps he made. He took a silicon mat and punched out Quarter sized pieces and adds a center hole for the dabber. It covers the dome hole and suspends the dabber just above the plate, if waiting for the drop takes to long a slight press down on the dabber makes contact with the ceramic.

BTW I have the VB2.5 and got one for my buddy who made the carb caps. It is the bees knees!

Hi CeramFam!!

VB2 just made its rounds at the Chalice Cup and we've learned quite a bit. For one thing, Chalice is the biggest cannabis cup we know, they have the best oil, they didn't hand any BS to the vendors, and they had a down to earth atmosphere. For sure, there were decked out ballers with crews but everybody was humble and happy to be there. Nobody was too cool to look at or talk to. I had no problem walking up to companies and sitting them down for a VB2 session.

tumblr_nrghngCMCO1rzuyr2o8_r1_500.jpg

We were so fortunate to be brought on the Adam Dunn Show (.com) for their marathon pre-Chalice judging podcasts. While we expected a interview and discussion about the intricacies of dabbing, the reality of 60+ flower entries and untold dozens of oil samples sent everybody to space and left us with very little ability to speak. Did I mention the rosin?

VB2 proved to be a good judging tool because of its consistency and the ability to self clean between sessions. When the 3 way party dome was hooked up, the judges could talk about the exact same hit they all took together.

tumblr_nrghngCMCO1rzuyr2o1_1280.jpg

Now that there is a VB2.5 model (see VB2.5 candidate thread) we may at times call the VB2 of this thread "VB2.0"

VB2.0 should still delight. It's the best tasting dab vaporizer we know. The existence of a 2.5 model doesn't mean VB2.0 is lesser. In fact, VB2.0 does a few things VB2.5 can't do. They are different beasts. Here is a quick comparison:

VB2.0
  • 3 minute heatup
  • 20 min auto-off (or disabled at user request)
  • 3 temp settings, 500, 650, 900F - highest setting handles traditional/bubble and self cleans quickly.
  • Capable of being on forever. I ran my VB2.0's all day in 90 degree heat with no problem.
  • Pure white ceramic heating surfaces
  • Easier to take somewhere. Can be run on a 150W inverter for 12V power

VB2.5
  • 30 second heatup
  • 10 min auto-off
  • Variable temperature to 800F with LED color feedback
  • Not designed for continuous use, like over 30min at a time.
  • Silicon nitride heater can't be broken (you are welcome to try)
  • Draws 700W- needs considerable power to run.

Some people asked if a VB2.0 can be upgraded to a VB2.5 but it is not quite possible due to the internal components being completely different.

Everybody who takes advantage of their free VB2.0 service will be eligible for upgrades that currently include:

  • Resetting temperatures to L=500F, M=650F, H=900F (if requested)
  • Firmware updates (automatic upgrade depending on your build)
  • Leveling warped bottom if necessary
  • Tighten knob, cord connection, etc.
  • New dual ceramic heater of our latest version

Cheers!

Just got done with my first VB2 session. Two days from order to first dab.

I tried some Blue Dream crumble and some Purple Kush shatter/snap 'n pull. The crumble leaves some residue and tastes a little smoky as a result, I think. It tastes a lot like a vape cart in a pen. The PK shatter seems to be vaporize cleaner and the flavor is nicer, but I think I saw a spark which isn't great if I've read the info 'round here properly. Then again, could it have been residue from the crumble combusting and not unpurged solvent from the shatter I dabbed afterward? I'll try a different maker next time anyway, I think, and will test this stuff again on a clean disc.

I'm quite happy with the unit as it appears to work perfectly. I was a bit disturbed by some rattling around inside the unit as though something was broken, but it was nicely packed and works as described. It's been a long time since I got that high that quickly. Until now I've only added wax to Extreme Q bowls, which is pretty effective, but not like this. What fun this is.

Just had another session with just the Purple Kush shatter. Not noticing any sparks this time. Maybe it was the residue from the crumble after all. I'm only using a dinky little bubbler attachment for water filtration but these hits are smooth. It hits me deep in the chest but doesn't necessitate a cough (yet... I haven't tested any limits so far). It's amazing how quickly and thoroughly the ceramic cover is cleaned on the high setting, too. Loving this thing so far.

DISCLAIMER: I have the VB2.0 in my list of vapes to sell, so keep that in my mind as you read my review. i also sell the evo and vb11 pen, which i compare it to. I finally have a 'shop copy' that is ready for testing and this was my first use.

whoooof. first hit and all i can say is whoooof. i've read vape reviews by others using the same vapes i do and sometimes they say 'i haven't felt like this since high school!' I have always rolled my eyes at that because that same vape doesn't do that for me. (btw, when im hammered my punctuation goes out the window) well, this one just did it to me. and yes, i just saw all your eyes rolling!

i set it to medium, 650 and put the smallest little drop of concentrate in there. it was about half of what I put in the evo, which is about half of what i put in my pens. and i know this concentrate...it's the only one i have ever had access to. so put me in the camp with t-dub and the boys who use it and say it's efficient. i could see saving money using this with concentrate instead of anything else with herbs or concentrates. now, that would take some serious discipline, because i am concerned about what may happen to my tolerance, being a flower guy and all.

i don't consider myself a concentrate expert or anything, but I've used a torch/nail once, an e-nail once, several good pens (omicron lite, vb11, divine tribe invader with donut atty) plenty of times and the vxnail plenty of times, so i know the good stuff. it's a super fast heat up, nothing gets hot and it tastes great!

i cant believe i got that all out! im gonna demo the party cap tonight (i hope!) with a couple of friends and see how that goes.

 . . . that is awesome @stickstones - welcome to the "experience". That vape has made me lay down on many occasions thinking to myself "I can't believe how friggin high I am right now". I seriously have had to lower the size of my dabs.

I have said it before because it is in the direction book: Don't use this vape if you have anything important to do because it may not get done.

Believe it folks, the VB2.0 and the VB2.5 are the t-r-u-t-h . . . period.

My VB2 still chugging along with no sign of problems. Quick heat-up and the twenty minute auto-shutoff seems perfectly suited to me. I usually cycle it back on one time so it has time to fully clean the disc, using the unit about twice a day. I cleaned it for the first time and it was a snap with the help of earlier posts from people like Vitolo.

I recently procured some very potent non BHO type concentrate that isn't giving any of those nasty sparks I worried over, and while it leaves residue, it doesn't flash as it burns, so I guess the stuff I had hadn't been thoroughly purged. The new stuff (Wax Man's Atomic Northern Lights / ~ 76% THC) is essentially flavorless, but packs a wallop and the residue it leaves (less of) burns away much quicker. I know soon I'm gonna end up splurging on some live resin or something as a rare treat, but it's nice to see how nicely the VB2 converts concentrates for which you didn't pay a hundred dollars a gram (or close, you know how expensive that stuff gets). I'm getting better at perfecting the dab with guidance from older posts as well, getting the most out of these dabs by dragging them across the surface of the disc and trying to avoid the very last of the hit that can taste burnt from the residues left. I'm getting wonderfully clean hits that don't taste burnt at all; just clean super-potent vapor.

I may want to get some better glass since the density of these dab hits are clogging the tiny percs in my little vape bubbler attachments so easily. One time was particularly funny as I had just filled one of them with ice-cold water and then the hot vapor from the first dab could barely get through as some of it immediately condensed into golden chunks in the percs. I had to finish with half of 'em clogged then blow them out after the session. Now I make sure the water isn't quite so cold and it's a bit better.

Maybe around tax time it'll be time to think about upgrading my regular flower vape. Okay, who am I kidding? I've been eyeing a couple of them for two years, probably. This EQ has been a rock, but there are some neat toys around (looking at you Cloud Evo...).

Just wanted to check in and babble positively for a moment while thoroughly medicated. I am still so happy I finally bought this thing. I definitely wasn't getting all I could out of the concentrates I was already buying. Vapor Brothers was the first name I ever heard recommended when I first forsook combustion and I'm happy to finally be able to pass along that recommendation firsthand.

I'm pleased to join this forum for so many reasons. As a long-running lurker and recent convert, I have a few things I'd like to say and ask. But before I do that, let me give you a bit of background story as to how I came to acquire this wonderful unit.

I suppose concentrates are not all that popular around here. That, or people simply overlooked this unit and to the store's overwhelming amount of quality glass. In any event, it was on sale (50% off) and I got it for just under $400.00 (which apparently included the expanded two-year warranty as per the store owner). That being said, I have a few questions after reading the hilarious (and by that, I mean legitimately funny) manual and initial start-up:

  1. What does it mean when the green light switches over to amber in mid session? This happened on my first session at Level M. I kicked it back down to L, waited a bit, and then kicked it back up to M and the amber was gone. Eventually, Level M triggered the amber lighting underneath again. I'm concerned, after reading this thread, that my Level M may not be performing as it should. If anyone has a color code for this unit, that'd be stellar!
EDIT: I think I found my answer here - http://www.vaporreviewblog.com/vaporbrothers-vb2-review-future-concentrates-ceramic/
  2. I understand the initial 3-minute startup cycle, but what does the flickering between state changes indicate? Is it instructing the user that the unit is revving up to the desired temperature or is this peculiar behavior?
EDIT: I think I found my answer here - http://www.vaporreviewblog.com/vaporbrothers-vb2-review-future-concentrates-ceramic/ (At this point I think I understand cycling? Correct me if I'm wrong.)
  3. Subjectivity aside, for BHO versus wax, would one suggest Level M or Level H?
I'd just like to grasp a greater faculty of understanding as to what VB2 is trying to communicate to me. That way I know if there is something to be concerned about or if the unit is functioning per norm.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Wow. Awesome price. Congrats.

1. The amber light (looks more red to me) is the auto-shutoff. Once you turn it back to L you essentially override it and it stays on, cycling through the flickering LEDs again.

2. That's normal, and you're correct about the flickering lights. It will flicker slowly until it's ready, at which point it flashes three times in quick succession then remains lit after that until auto shutoff at 20 minutes.

3. I think H is the best setting. I've tried M but it delivers hits that taste a bit burnt and smoky. I think that's the overall consensus around here. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will tell you about their technique.

Thanks for the clarification, Kim! It is good to know that my unit is functioning as it should. I have a sneaking suspicion my auto shut-off time is lower than other units, but I will be timing it my next session to be sure.

Now for my initial thoughts on this acquisition: Farewell to the torch.

This thing has taken the joy of using my Nectar Collector Opal Turtle to an entirely different level.

The only thing that could make it better is bypassing the whip altogether and seeing a dome accessory built that utilizes 14mm male connectors to compliment the current 14mm female connector dome offerings.

So it looks like I have VB2-0037. Judging from the low serial number, is this unit a beta?

P.S.
That purple light indicator looks gorgeous, t-dub!

I do not often start the day with a VB2 session.
Flowers are fast when pre-ground during the night before's "Daily Grind"
dailygrind.jpg

The pre-ground flower provides easy fast vapor in a unit that has been pre- loaded and warmed up.
No action on my part!

That is not to say the VB2 is not fast...
This morning I had my act together sufficiently to get some wax out and get a dabber ready.
DSC03298.jpg

Fucking Monster didn't stand a chance.
Of course I have been moving through the morning in a whimsical manner.
  • Silliness
  • giggles
  • fogginess
... but Nausea is NOT on my list of symptoms!
This is an official "RE-ENDORSEMENT" of the Cheesebox, as the definitive tool
in early morning rapid anti-emitic action.
Thanks Vapor Brothers for the heavy artillary.
We ain't messing around here.
Check it out it is not even 9 in the morning and I am writing to you guys instead of tenderly tiptoeing around and trying not to wake the "Cracken".
Thanks for your attention.
Later guys!
