Rosin Technique....Easy DIY Solventless

How much does that dispensary charge for rosin?

Not sure, I haven't been since the law change, but they ask $50-60/g for other quality oils and offer $10/g off 3 days a week so I'm guessing around there? I'll be stopping by for flower soon so I'll see what they are up to, but IDK about buying rosin lol. Have to look way better than mine, I'm having too much fun making it myself!

I fucking love rosin!!! Being able to just walk out to the shop, flip a switch and 25 seconds later I can press a gooey nug and collect clean rosin from a plant I grew, harvested and cured. Priceless

Even if there is some waxes in rosin, it still tastes better than some of the tane soup I believe I have been getting lately. It's nice knowing there is nothing in it like mold, mites, fertilizers, pesticides or anything I don't want in there!

:science:

Look for discounted dry sift, bubble, scissor etc. on sale. I have heard of dispensaries selling low grade dry sift for $5 to $10 a gram. Those cheap hashes may easily yield 40 to 50% return of rosin.

Wow, saw another place locally selling rosin. Way more expensive than I thought, obvious cash-grab IMO

Try $60 down south....looked like poo-poo too lol!

I haven't seen wax/shatter dry up at all in the collectives, just relabeled to say closed loop.

Has anyone been using rosin in the vape pens designed for concentrate? Wondering if the coil's can handle it?

No issues at all with burning out or contaminating it in the 3-4 heads I've gone thru since learning the tech.

Thanks again FC for being the SINGLE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE SOURCE for Rosin Tech!

Yea I can't see rosin working too well commercially tbh. BHO is $50-60 retail for shit made from moldy pesticide with some fan leaf in it lol. Imagine what oil made from top shelf flower would cost... One of the guys on Hash Church a few weeks back was trying to justify his $150/g BHO, so I guess there's an ass for every seat...

Great Scott!
I want to be like that company that sells $100k water bottles. Buy some nice $40-50g oil, put it in a package with the name "VIP Black Club Oil" with regular parchment wrapped in gold foil. Sell it for $3k a gram as "the world's finest concentrate". Go big or go home if you are going to rip people off, at least rip off the rich who don't even notice.

just saw aqua labs press. $3,500 :lmao:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NO ONE IS GOING TO PURCHASE THAT OVERPRICED SHIT

i mean damn $350 vs $3500. Shoutout to Dnail ! Or maybe just fuck ALT lol

The Rosin Tech press on ALT isn't really comparable to the dnail press.

The dnail press is a manual press. Not sure how many lbs of pressure it can do but I guarantee it isn't close to a pneumatic press.

The RT press is a pneumatic press that can produce pressure of up to 2,400 lbs.

That's why it is $3,600 lol.

I guarantee people will buy the Rosin Tech press on ALT, especially when people have no problem dropping $3-$5k on a AI vac oven (don't forget the extra 1-2k for a good pump hahaha).

If you want a pneumatic press, check out this dude on IG @the_rosinator

He is only charging $500 for a 4,000 lb press and $1000 for a 8,000 lb press.

Oh and they are USA made. No idea how the fuck they are that cheap.

And if you are looking to start a business, you can custom order 1,500 ton presses... That's 3,000,000 lbs of pressure. Ummmmmmm I bet that thing is heavy haha

I wish I would have seen this before I bought the dnail press. Oh well, I'm sure the manual press will work great and is a probably less prone to having problems.

It's always good to start with something simple and work your way up to the fancy shit. If you skip right to the fancy shit then you don't have anything new to look forward to buying lol.

I'm sure dnail will make a pneumatic press of some sort in the future. This is just the beginning :)

Well i sound dumb lol.

Do you know how much pressure the dnail can apply?

Also what is the benefit of having so much pressure available? Does the dnail not press out all of the actives?

Dude's working on improvements right now so it's not for sale yet but once it is this thing will be awesome for pumping out quantity.

Watching John Berfelo struggle with his t shirt press looked like back breaking work. I'm interested to hear if the d nail press is an improvement as far as opening/latching shut the lid.

Edit: LOL ... @BoogerMan you must have posted that while I was typing.

No worries! I just learned all this a few days ago lol.

Not sure about the pressure of the dnail press. I'll email and ask.... In the meantime, @herbivore21 do you by any chance know the pressure of the small or large dnail press?

More pressure means you can use lower temps (helps preserve terpenes, which makes it taste better and the flavor is usually stronger) and a larger pressing surface (aka you can press more material).

Look at my previous post again. I edited it and includes some pics and comments. Talks about the amount of material you can press with the different size machines he sells.

Thanks for the video and the info!

I can be a ninja sometimes haha :ninja:

I hope it isn't back breaking. I don't think bcbubbleman would have said 10/10 for ease of use if it was that hard. He probably wouldn't say anything bad but I bet he would at least say you gotta be a strong motha fucka to use it. I'll let you know if I end up in the hospital :ko:

Also curious about pressure on that dnail. All I know is that it is manually adjustable via a knob. but how much??? I imagine it comes down to how much force you can physically apply and factor in leverage... a longer handle would allow for more leverage..

As long as the lid pops open pretty easily it should be money. John and his buddy had to put their t shirt press on the floor and stand on a board that was holding the press down while they opened the lid because it was under so much pressure. Being 6'7" bending over like that time after time becomes brutal quickly. The d nail press looks like it uses a longer handle so it should hopefully have more leverage to pop it open and better for table top use.

very cool to see these new devices coming to market!

looks like this shit is moving along nicely. i may wait a bit longer to see what else comes out, but the $300-500 range isnt bad at all considering the time it will save.

getting excited!

For those using SS screens or hemp cloth or rosin tea bags (read anything but parchment paper), how do you collect it after pressing?
