Discontinued Daisy vaporizer by Triihouse

Alan Partridge

Smell my cheese

Lol yes online instructions are not hard to find (the video at the start of the thread tells you everything you need to know) but even my Titan 2 came with printed instructions, just a quick sheet would've been nice.

I am not sure how people worry about combusting. I use Daisy almost daily and never combust. Maybe try a smaller flame, or starting high and slowly lowering the lighter towards the tube and stopping once you feel or see vapor. A faster draw could help too.

Sounds like you've mastered it! I'm getting there, no combustion the last few days and I'm getting nicely browned ABV.

And also stir! It's pure convection so hot spots will occur. A stir or a tap to the side to shuffle the load will improve your session

My best friend is a cocktail stick! I stir every couple of draws and it helps the ABV get a more even tan.

Great to hear more people are finding out about Daisy's underestimated power, it does boggle the mind just how effective this block of wood and glass can get.

My experience with combusting is the longer you own and use Daisy, the more and more rare it becomes. Can't even remember the last time I combusted, but recall it was when I was trying to see if I could squeeze just a little more vapor out of a bowl that should have been dumped. Daisy already produces a ton of vapor, so no need to be greedy.

@Alan Partridge I'd be curious to hear how you compare the mighty/crafty vapor quality to Daisy.

Does the daisy work about the same as the lily with small loads? Know the daisy has a bigger bowl then the lily, and can preform with small loads, but does the smaller bowl on the lily make it so it out performs the daisy when packing small?

Ok, been abusing Daisy for the past few days. Took a couple of days to get the hang of. I managed to proper combust the first time round, and a couple of times after that I got a little combustion. After a while I learned the best placement of the flame and how to draw (whistling!), now it works beautifully. I get massive clouds from a small bit of material.

I love how instant it is- I've been hitting it while waiting for the MiniVap to heat up. I'm still getting a very woody taste, but I guess that will wear off. The whole thing feels and tastes very organic. I like it a lot!

Bad points- I don't like the wooden mouthpiece, I took that off after the first go. I feel like you get more 'purchase' on the air flow without, plus you can actually see the vapour in the glass mouthpiece. You need a steady supply of butane as well- I emptied a lighter in no time. And although I feel like I've got the hang of it without combusting, there's a very real danger that if I'm a bit careless it might combust. Also some instructions would be nice.

All in all, it's an excellent vape, very well made- love all the thought that has gone into the design and the way the magnets make it impossible to put together incorrectly. I'm impressed by how much you can get out off a small amount of material. I don't know a lot about butane vapes but I don't see how they could be any better than this.

Back from a nice weekend with my new Daisy and my other vape, Crafty. WOW the Daisy is a big hitter! Yes, even with small amounts. I barely covered the screen with my herbs and still got 2-3 nice hits and big clouds. This is the real deal.

I also had similar experiences as Alan Partridge (quoted above). First time I used it I combusted a little (oops, I hate to admit, I kinda enjoyed it). I've been vaping for a little over a month now, so the urge to combust is still there (but definitely diminishing). I also did not care for the wooden mouthpiece and took it off. I think it works better that way, and I also reversed the end of the glass mouth intake tube so the short side goes into the wood block. I can see better this way.

The Daisy is very well made, and the magnets hold it tight. It looks very simple, but well thought out. I'm really enjoying this vape. I have no problems with using my butane lighter with it, it's still full. I know when the material is cashed because the herb flavor goes away and you get a woody, beeswax taste. If I could find mint flavored beeswax.

I was trying to do a test between the Daisy and Crafty, to see which one gets you medicated faster or better, but after taking some hits with either one, I was too ripped to even care. My conclusion is they both work great. But each one does give you a slightly different experience. Variety is the spice of life.

Well done Triihouse, great vape!!!!!

There you go people. At a little over a third of the price. If you don't need the stealth....

I've been enjoying Daisy with the following modifications:

  1. Removed wooden mouthpiece and o ring.
  2. Removed the short metal tube joining the two halves. (Magnets are strong enough.)

I agree with the comments above that with Daisy it is easier to combust than many other vapes. What I did to practice the peaceful art of non-combustion was to pack bowl after bowl of ABV. Daisy is powerful enough to extract clouds out of "spent" ABV from other vapes. And ABV is very dry, so it is easy to combust. Good for practicing proper torch placement and technique.

Seems like it makes the draw a bit more open and woody.

I imagine may require more frequent cleaning? I might try this too, I always squeeze my Daisy a few times before use to make sure all the seams are lined up and smooth anyways.

It's very difficult for me to imagine how some people are often combusting with the Daisy. Although I have combusted a couple of times, I was pushing the hell out of it with large loads of material that was well spent really. Under normal circumstances I think it's difficult to combust or even to get the ABV to a dark brown state. This later point might seem like a downside to some but the ABV is always more spent than it looks.

IMO the major source of combustion is having too large a flame and pointing it too far down the hole, either because you are new and dialing it in or too medicated to pay attention until the combustion happens.

I agree with this. I have two torches that the flame is just big enough to vape with the Daisy on their highest flame setting. Any lower and I would need the lungs of the "big bad wolf" to get any vapor as the flame just doesn't produce enough heat.

With the torch that Triihouse sales, I can combust but not so easy and I have to be pulling pretty darn good.

With the Bernzomatic lighter from Lowes, I have to be very careful of combustion, but I don't need to use much lung power at all to get a huge dense dark grey cloud. If I light the heat intake much more than 3-5 seconds I might end up with some heavily charred flower and a mouth full of ass-tasting smoke.

I also notice that since I typically use my Daisy in the garage with the garage door open, the weather at that time will have a major effect on how my torch will work. Often we have a high humidity level here so the flame is not as sharp/fine and will not be as hot. My torches always seem to work better at night once the sun has gone down and taken much of the humidity with it.

I haven't seen a Bernzomatic torch that was small enough to use with any of my torch driven vapes, Great for dabbing(and the ol' Supreme vape) but seems to be way way overkill for anything else I've used.

With the humidity here in the MID-Atlantic I tend to like to use it on the lowest setting when I want to extract what I can from the flowers as fast as I can...for instance when I have flowers that are not as high quality. I would prefer the torch that Triihouse sales over the Bernzo but mine died and I am waiting on a new one along with a Peace. My other two torches would take 5-6 hits or more to extract everything that I can extract with one or two hits using the Bernzo. Sometimes overkill is necessary I guess, but it does feel obnoxious lighting the Daisy with a torch that is bigger than it is.

I'm sitting in the middle of a swamp in Florida and vape mainly in a screened room/patio and don't see humidity affecting performance on torches I've used but then again I've only really used 'em where the humidity is high so guess I've nothing to compare it to.

If it works for you is all that really counts in the long run.

Daisy is one sweet and bad ass gal no-matter what.

I meant humidity's affect on the torch flame. It is not really a significant difference, but I'm so routine about things that I often can't help but notice the slightest difference's in things I do.
