Praise the butane!

Daisy, Lilly, Lotus, Vapocane, Vaponic, Vapman, Gn0me, Hammer. What to these vaporizers have in common?

A lot! Let's see:

1. Very rich flavour
2. Excellent materials in the airpath - just glass, glass and wood
3. Portable
5. Light Weight
6. Small to Very Small
7. Vaporizes using convection
8. Very affordable prices

And some, stand out due to their 100% convection extraction (Daisy, Lotus or Vapocane are such examples), and have superior caracteristics:

1. Flavour is more prolonged
2. You can hit and leave without wasting any cannabinoids in between hits
3. Ability to achieve lung busting hits with relative ease

And, of course, all are powered by butane lighters.

Which has other benefits as well, you can easily travel without worrying about batteries, or a plug, and you can use it anywhere where you have privacy.

Plus, due to the temperature of the butane flame, it can withstand long hits without losing power and thus, maintaining proper temperature in the bowl.

The only real downside with this type of vaporizer is the fact that you need to be aware of what where doing, to some degree, at all times. Plus, a proper vaporization with the purpose of a long session or a short 5-hit session, is entirely dependent on your ability maintining and increasing the temperature of your bowl.

Also, I'm aware that some people *need* to know the temperature to which they vape, whilst others just like the ability to do it, but most users just need the cannabinoids, the array of them, and don't really have to have this knowledge.

To me, the freedom i can have with my Lotus, and the experience it can provide regarding the high itself but also the flavour it delivers throughout the session is on par with the best vapes in the market.

That is all, if you read it all, congratulations - it got longer than i antecipated!

This is something i've been thinking for some time but just now decided to write.:cool:

Best butane vape for efficiency, in your opinion?

I've heard Vapman mentioned a few times.

(EDIT: Should this topic be moved to Vaporization Discussion/Ask FC or a bigger audience? Maybe if we were talking about the actual butane itself then it would be here.)

Agreed.

I regularly use and love my Underdog but the Vapman, to my surprise, is becoming my go-to vape. No need to worry about it warming up, doesn't fatigue after a few bowls and I can easily reach those super high temps. Crazy considering its size. It is not as efficient as the UD though IMO.

I really like to get my ABV black sometimes which my Underdog just can't do consistantly (can any electric?). That's not to say the Underdog underperforms in any way, it's just the sheer power of butane. Coming from smoking I think the ritual that comes with using a lighter feels very natural, and torch lighters are just cool. The major con to butane powered vapes is that the lighters are nowhere near the quality of the vapes themselves.

Would love to get a Lotus too but TBH I am worried that I would stop using my other vapes :uhoh:.

No mention of my beloved VaporGenie? I'm also a pipe smoker convert, so I found the flame power instantly familiar and comfortable. My first vape was a Solo and I really liked it, quit combusting cold turkey with it, but I quickly felt like a slave to the battery. Much more freedom with a flame, keep a few spare lighters around and never worry about power again lol

Yeah, the Genie is not on the list because i find the taste is not as good due to the butane exhaust but it is a very nice vaporizer IMO as well. (Still, the glass genie must have excellent taste. I had the wood genie. )

As for efficiency, it is a function of bowl size and % of conduction present IMO.

The vapman due to the very small bowl is really efficient, but i believe that, provided you are carefull when filling the bowl, other vaporizers with near exclusive convection extraction like the Lotus can be more efficient.

@vorrange How would you compare your HI to the Lotus? I can only assume your HI functions similar to my Underdog and would be interested to know how you think the logs fare against the power of butane.

I only have a Vapman which, although awesome, doesn't really generate as big of a hit as the UD. It can, but in it's own unique way. Usually the biggest are about three/four hits in.

My wooden vapor genies taste as good to me as any other wooden butane powered vapes I've used as long as I use a torch with 'em. The Daisy and lily both have more of a hint of wood flavor then my 6 year old VG classic ever had and Yes the VG glass bat has amazing flavor as long as your herb has amazing flavor 'cause the herb is all you taste.

I do love my butane vapes and right now have the Vapman, Peace, Daisy, lily, lotus, vapor genies, vapor lithe, hammer, ubie in reach (also have a vapolution pocket kit somewhere that's only been used for a weekend then misplaced).

:peace: ... (don't tell the others but the Vapman is my favorite torch powered tool.)

Well, between the two, and regarding taste i really can't tell the difference.

As for efficiency, refer to the post above.

As for big hits, i find i can get bigger hits faster and easier with the Lotus.

@RUDE BOY , i guess i wasn't so fortunate. My genie developed a somewhat stale taste that permeates the cannabis flavours, and it never lost the wood flavour. I want to get a Vapman though, that is for sure. ;)

*sigh* I've got VAS in a bad way and now it's not just portables on battery - just ordered a Vapman, looking at the Lotus with longing and am finding myself on the Daisy page every other day. D:

Now I've just got to get a few desktops, as well... =.=

My Lotus replaced my desktops, i hardly use my HI now. Using it with a regular bong, my Ehle tube, is great. I use it dry.

If i get a desktop it would need to be a big hitter, LSV for low cost units and a miniVAP or a Cloud for high cost unit are my choices if i had the money.
