Hello Folk
How often do you vape?
How much do you vape per session - i.e. 0.35 grams?
Do you think your vaping is healthy or do you feel vaping is giving you side effects such as dry throat, mucus production, etc?

Vape often as much as I can. Worst side effect is it makes me stoned! :D

Just kidding.

Think you'll find the whole gamut around here, right up to those who only vape once a month.

For me in a typical week I vape about 4 or 5 days a week. Work, or other busy days, are the ones I don't vape - and if I do, usually just a quick session after dinner. Sometimes one later depending on what else I'm doing (TV watching often calls for another sesh), or to help sleep if it's bedtime and I'm not tired.

Weekends or days off it varies from pretty much all day (allowing a few hours to enjoy the buzz and get somewhat back to 0 so I can get another buzz later), to same as weekdays. Really depends on rest of my schedule but would estimate about 1/2 day and both evenings (maybe earlier and through the night) on most weekends. Vacation or something? Forget about it! If I can be and depending on what I'm doing, I may be constantly stoned other than my couple hour T breaks.

Per session kind of goes the same. Weeknights? Probably around .35 for two sessions over a few hours, less than half that for just one after dinner. If kayaking or hiking or something, may have .35 (between 2 people) every hour or two, or once at the destination, after lunch or whatever. Much depends on who I'm with and what the paddling or terrain is like.

Healthy? That's a tough one without context. Healthier than smoking? Think so and definitely feels like it. Healthier than not vaping or smoking? I think you get the benefits of medicinal properties physically whether you "need" it medically or are just using recreationally. Mentally and emotionally? For me, much healthier than not imbibing. Let's me keep my head level and let go of anxiety (not often at the moment I have it, but later when I tend to dwell on something stupid I said or did earlier that day or whatever).

Side effects are dependent on whether I overdo it, and usually how healthy I'm being at same time. Mine are pretty minor. Dry throat? Not so much. Dry mouth? Yeah, sometimes, but nothing a few glasses of water doesn't correct. Mucus production? Not really tho a good hit will sometimes make me sneeze a couple times, then it will go away (attribute this to triggering something in my nose or throat).

I'd have to say the worst side effects can be the next morning. Sometimes from overdoing it the night before (damn dabs! ;)). On occasion I'll wake all the way up in the middle of the night. I know getting back to sleep will be tough, so do a quick high temp/heavy sesh to chill enough to sleep. If this is less than 3 or 4 hours before the alarm goes off, I'll usually get up a bit groggy. But, no where near as bad as if I didn't have that sesh and was awake in the middle of the night for a couple hours.

Are you writing a report or just seeing how others do with vaping?

Vape every day. Monday to Friday vape 1 gram bud . Saturday during the day 1 gram and 1 gram Saturday night. Repeat Sunday. Don't notice any major side effects. I just feel a need a hit at 4pm that's when I get home from work. But I am not crying and going nuts craving for it if I'm doing ot at work. If there is any side effects im not noticing them lol

Vape every day - used to smoke everyday too, I was about to give up smoking before I (re)discovered vaping. Was so sick of smoking every night and 1. not getting high and 2. feeling burnt out constantly. It was shocking to me that after 8 years of smoking everyday I just didn't want to smoke anymore.

Then I dusted off the ol' MFLB and only vaped for about two weeks and it changed my life. Sounds silly, I am not a medical user but switching to vaping was a life-changing decision. I used to sit down at night and hate myself for smoking bowl after bowl for barely any effect, yet I couldn't stop myself from doing it out of habit. Now I vape up a storm, get high as hell every night and use heaps less weed. A half ounce lasts me about two months these days without trying too hard to conserve. Usually vape a bit in the morning before work and when I get home at about 10PM til I go to bed.

Vaping has turned weed into an awesome hobby that I love instead of a dirty habit that I hated but couldn't stop.

Zero side effects for me. Not constantly groggy, no "stone-over" the next morning, no smokers breath that I have to cover up and no smoke smell on my clothes or in my house.

The only side effect is that I have contracted a minor case of VAS :uhoh:.

Ok I think there's an agreement here that usually a vape session is below 0.35 g... Most people here vape few times a week, in free days multiple times.

@flotntoke For side effects I mean mostly sputum and productive cough in first place and other psychological /physiological ones in second place -- i.e. insomnia, etc when not vaping

Is anybody experiencing airways irritation the day after or a few days after consecutive sessions?
My vaping is 0.35 per session -- just me and I add 0.15 every additional guest-- no more than twice per day on w-e, doing no more than 5 sessions per week but usual being 4 at most with T-breaks of 1 week every month/6weeks... Consuming about 1/1.3 grams per week.

I guess I don't vape much... I quit using cannabis for 10 years, never used much before either, maybe twice per month at most.... started about 1.5 years ago again with vaping but I develop some sputum and irritation in my airways even by using such low amount as described above. Started vaping at low T, never above 195 C and using a bubbler, things improved a lot but still I'm not 100% airways irritation free... My objective is to wake up the next day like virtually 0% airways irritation symptoms coz that may mean that there is virtually no effect on respiratory system... I'm very health conscious.

So just guessing if any of you have similar symptoms? My chronic rhinitis caused by hours over years spent in swimming and paddling in cold waters is not helping for sure but I'm very curious to hear if it's just me...

@h3rbalist nice 3d will dig into it

I do not develop and irritation. Mind you I live in a shit apartment and the air quality sucks that I wake up with bloo in my nose or a stuffed nose is I vape or don't vape. Lately I don't have blood since I have been vaping.

You may want to decrease your temp from 195C to maybe 180C? Or use water tools. Personally I very rarely vape above 194C unless a buddy comes over and we want to fully extract our bud from a session. Usually crank it up near the end.

SIDE EFFECTS
I was a firefighter in Brooklyn for 22 years, so I know all about breathing issues (basically inhaled buildings for a living). I combusted since I was 16 and my lungs test perfect (methyl choline challenge) over and over. When I smoked, I got some coughing, now I never, ever cough. My teeth are whiter, my breathe (cardio) is better (but not by a lot, as I had decent cardio-respiratory capacity before). So, no paranoia, breathing issues, insomnia, or anything negative whatsoever - except it cost over $300 a z, and my bank acct feels that.

There have been threads dedicated to this subject.

Since changing 2 1/2 years ago from smoking cannabis.
I get a clearer medicated state, lungs feel good no coughing no coughing up black. I don't smell of burnt bud, my breath doesn't taste foul. Other folks can't smell the tell tale smell of mj smoke, which is a big plus. It helps to take my pain away and relaxes my muscles so they don't cramp up. I don't use just for pain.

I have never experienced any problems with my lungs feeling tight or sore lungs from vaporizing. If vaporizing feels uncomfortable turn down the temperature or use water filtration. If it still doesn't feel right maybe there is another problem. Maybe cannabis isn't for you.

My overall health feels much better using a vaporizer vs smoking.

Some days I use more cannabis than other days. Some days I don't use cannabis at all. I may use upwards to a gram or 1/10 of a gram it just depends on the day.

I don't worry all the time if I am killing my lungs because my dad died of COPD from years of smoking cigarettes. I started coughing a little in the mornings which I knew wasn't a good sign. My health was my main concern when starting to vaporize. I didn't realize another great thing is that cannabis vapor can taste pretty good using a vape.

I spend probably half of what I was shelling out before on cannabis. The only draw back is VAS. That's OK I can live with that.

Apart from work and drivin I vape whenever (joys of vaping no smell) the only side effects are the $$$! I think it is pretty well documented that if you are vaping a gram or 2+ a day for rec purposes it's like pissing in the wind! And tolerance builds quick. Munchies might be a side effect but I don't know if I eat anymore or else when high I just love to eat regardless :/ haha.

Been doing couple of sessions a day for a few years, only side effect for me is heart palpitations, which isn't harmful my doctor said.

Quitting weed on the other hand is a real bitch, prepare for heavy nightsweats and vivid dreams/nightmares. Should only last a couple of weeks though.

Do you think your vaping is healthy or do you feel vaping is giving you side effects such as dry throat, mucus production, etc?

another data point to add to the other anecdotes:

i have been vaping the last 15 years and joints/glass pipe for 30 years before that ... i have a performance criteria - 30 minutes of aerobics on my NordicTrack almost every day ... i do not find cannabis impairs my aerobics ... i go through about 1 oz per month, so 28/30 gram/day in 5 or so sessions per day, every day.

i really enjoy getting vaped before my daily 15 minute Bowflex workout - but never before the aerobics.

my plan is to ride this routine another 20 years (or so) into my sunset ... or else it's the helium balloon for me.

oh, yeah, LOL. (maybe) (or maybe not)

Vaping makes me sweat! I thought it was just the heat from the LSV that made me sweat when doing a session but have since gotten a Solo and I still sweat. I pretty much only vape through water except if I'm out and about.

My buddy noticed the same thing. Does this happen to anyone else?

One session (approx 0.025gr.) a night 4-5 times a week.

Side affects..........finding myself on the couch with the TV on.......missing about an hours worth of time.

Sweats?? Nope.
