- MN charges $200 to register. And that's $200 a year.
- Dr's are reluctant to even sign off on patients and it has to be your primary doctor who has a history of treating you.
- One patient reports their monthly mmj meds cost $1200
- No buds, only pills, concentrate, liquids
- Very limited clinics, duo-opoly with only two companies. One patient has to drive 200 miles for meds
- Because of all the above, a whopping total of 98 patients now get the benefit of MMJ.

Could they have screwed up MMJ any worse if they tried????

Its not enlightenment only that is leading the marijuana legalization charge it is also about the dollars. Transferring an established market to a supply and distribution model that is more easily managed and taxed. As for medical marijuana its starting to suffer from the same pricing pressures that other drugs face. But we haven't seen anything yet, wait till legalization is accepted enough that the big drug companies and insurance providers to decide to jump in. Look Out.

WA is changing the process of getting a medical card. They will be requiring your family doctor to sign off on a card. No physician can have over 30 patients that they certify in a month. If more than 30 patients the doctor has to let the state know. This is new for July 2016. Most doctors don't want to get involved with prescribing cannabis. They are more interested in giving out pills instead.

Now we go to a doctor where all he or she does mainly is give out certifications for cannabis. It takes about 30 min or less. I wish I would have gotten my med MJ certication sooner. I've only had mine for little over a year. First time it was $200. To get recertification it was just $100.

The state will have a different process come July. I don't even tell my doctor that I use cannabis. I went to a naturopath and brought in all my test, chart notes and ex rays.

The change is called the Patient Cannabis Protection Law, the state says this is to protect the patient. This is to make more money for the state. Many dispensaries will be closing their doors because the state will be combining med and recreation cannabis.

Right now I can go to a MMJ Farmers Market on Saturdays to purchase my medicine and get some strains for $5 a gram. The recreational stores sell the same thing for $15. If you sign into a medical registry you won't have to pay the 9% sales tax is all the benefit you get, plus your name is on a registry. Not sure if prices will fall because the tax system is changing to something more manageable instead of 75% tax it will be 37% + 9% sales tax if you aren't part of the med registry.

Most dispensaries now sell their cannabis from $8 - 12. Edibles is about $5 or 10 for 100% thc. I can go to the MMJ Farmers Market and get it cheaper. The MMJ Famers Market maybe no more come next summer. The state wants the money from taxes is the bottom line. They wouldn't approve of selling cannabis outside because it's not in a state appointed store. They really don't care about the sick whose lives have changed for the better because of cannabis.

ManY farmers that grow cannabis currently for the medical dispensaries will also have to quit growing because they will need to be certified from the state. The state only gives out a few and only to those that already have an application on file. I wish it wasn't legal in WA because the state fucked everything up.

Even though the voters voted for medical cannabis the way it us now, the legislature is changing it to fit their needs. Cannabis is their cash cow. The state needs money for teachers they will use cannabus taxes to help pay for it. Meanwhile the legislature all received raises. Vote the whole lot of them out including Jay Enslee the Governor. Can you tell I'm really pissed about this.

Be very protective in your state if you have medical cannabis and your state decides to go the legal route for MJ.

NY's new law is awful too. It's taking forever to get started and it has limited conditions, none of mine are on it and no bud whatsoever

I live in Canada and am a legal medical user.

There are private clinics that specialize in prescribing cannabis but they aren't covered by our national health insurance so you have to pay 200-500 for a consultation. This is silly because you only get 3-month long MMJ scripts and have to keep going back 4 times a year. You don't pay the consult fee everytime, but you have to pay anyway.

A family doctor, or general practitioner as they are called in the United States I believe can authorize your use of MMJ.

What is great in Canada now is it can be prescribed for anything. They don't even have to write your condition on the recommendation. However, I can assure you doctors don't willingly sign off on these things because they have their regulatory body to worry about. If you meet the criteria, like myself, they will eventually sign off. It took me a few years for my family doctor to come around.

My monthly cost is about 465. The average cost is about $9 per gram plus tax from the legal providers in Canada. They have some buds that are $5-6 per gram but they aren't always available.

You can only buy whole dried buds legally. The laws are changed now to allow for cannabis infused oils but they aren't yet available.

I'm very relieved that I am in Colorado, it seems most other States have seen the financial benefits that are sourced from both Medical and recreational sales of Cannabis, ... The numbers are astonishing to say the least.

I believe we tripled the amount of predicted monies projected.

When Medical was first introduced..
I thought it was too expensive, after seeing these few posts above, I was wrong

Initially; MMJ specific Doctors(this is all they do) charged anywhere between 2-300$ for a "recommendation" ..
You then get the recommendation notarized, send the Reccommendation into the States' MED With a check or money order for 95$.. And hope they approve the application.
- Card is good for 1 year, then repeat.
Slowly fees dropped.

My doc visit is now only 50$ As I've used the same doc since 2009
State application fees is only 15 dollars now.

This allows me to delegate my 6 plants to a dispensary or private Caregiver, or grow my own.
(3 Mature and 3 seedlings or clones) or for those familiar with growing..3 in veg, 3 in flower.

Amendment 64 allows the same growing rights... But these are not supposed to be combined.

As far as I'm concerned, I will always grow my own medicine..6 plants are plenty and keep me very occupied, helping keep my mind from focusing on my chronic pain.

Growing in of itself is very therapeutic for me, I can spend all day in my 5x5 space

Rec is about $35, with coupon. The doctors seem to come and go, but there's always plenty around. Huge list of covered conditions, in case one needs to come up with something.
