Yeah I prefer the bent st
I really like the Solo's bent stem. I switch from the Vortex to the bent stem, I use one or the other mostly. I also use the bent stem with the Air. I'm glad I had the Solo to depend on when we went on a trip. I needed something that charged quickly and could easily be put away. The Air came in handy for the stealthiness factor. Bravo Arizer.

I use the @Pipes Solo stand, for those with chipped bottoms on their units. It covers your vape bottom area and allows the Solo to be charged in a standing position. I use mine all the time. Welcome to all the new Solo owners. A very good investment in your health and future vaporizing needs.

Yeah I prefer the bent stem with my solo. Hmm a solo stand? Funny because some small piece of black plastic broke off the bottom of my solo just the other night, first thing that's broken on it. But it's very hard to notice unless you are looking closely.

Did the plastic break off near one of the screws? Happened to me, too.

Bent stem is easy to control with the cover that's installed on the solo cap.
The way I hold the solo my index finger puts pressure against the cover and it keeps the stem from rotating.
Done it that way since day one The straight one too.
I never had a stem fall out
I broke them all for other careless reasons. :)

I get in the habit of holding my index finger on the side of the base of the bent stem to keep it in place. It's just second nature, I don't even think about it.

What's so nice with the Solo and Air there's all kinds of different ways to enjoy them. Many different stems and accessories to interchange.

EDIT
I like to rotate the stems around because that helps with vapor production IMO. It works for me anyway. Everybody has their of way that works for them.

Yep, mine is between a screw and the start of the serial number sticker or whatever that long sticker is. The bit that broke off isnt much, just about the width of my pinky.

Yeah I just used mi

Yeah I just used mine and that's what I do too, I rotate them stem and jiggle it a bit, sometimes shaking the unit a bit, not too hard though.

Mine sitting on my desk now after 2 x 12 minute sessions looks very similar to the one posted just above by @Bravesst. Same colour, same stem, mine has slightly less stain, only because I washed it several days ago.

I have found I like the bent stem the best. I have been using it through my wp with the 18-14 reducer from @Ratchett. I like it better than the pvhes wpa.
I use a modified bent stem:
solostem.jpg

The EQ balloon stem on the end changes the airflow characteristics and just feels better in my mouth. But gravity moves this around even more than stock, so an "O" ring is a necessity. The "O" rings just stay in place on both my Solos, I never touch them. I find the base cracking is not a problem if tiny washers are installed under the base screws before cracking starts. (By the way Brother PIPES has them in his base kit).
Enjoying fresh TOG this evening-the taste in the Solo is fabulous.

Just ordered a couple of bent stems from Puffitup / $16 delivered.... sweet.
@CarolKing Rotating seems natural. I was thinking 1/8 turns would get the oven holes to line up in different places vs. 1/4 turns (if exact, but they won't be) will reline to oven slots at bottom, so not really pulling heat into less "ABV'd" herb. Easiest bet for me is just to "randomly" spin. I find the need to stir less, sometimes not at all if I can't or am too lazy.

Aw man all this talk about the bent stem :( I dropped mine a couple of days ago..

Anywho can't be too bummed

Just enjoyed a solid 15 min session using an Indica spacer as a sort of all purpose can

I dropped a nice lil dab of that crafty reclaim in (no lighter necessary), popped it into the stem and cranked it up to 6

Feeling v medicated right now
Here's what it looked like...

~didn't check if anybody had mentioned trying this before, but if ya'll do I definitely suggest being extra careful with the spacer when you take it out because it gets mega hot

So yeah maybe it's not a totally convenient method but I dig it so just thought I'd share

been spending the day cleaning stems, first scraping with the Arizer SS pick any ABV that floated into the upper stem, mixed with all the goo. I dropped into a little SS jar, mixed in about a .05 gram of herb into a little bit of it, mixed well, and loaded a drop - seems to vape better a bit hotter, but very nice effect. Love "extending" my herb like this... like getting high for FREE :cuss:

on 6, clouds for days... wow

what's real cool about this is I can pull a decent amount of "goo" from stems every few days, and basically get a half day of free vaping...

[EDIT] Had to add, almost 20 minutes in, and I'm still getting good cloudage
[FINAL EDIT] Spent, me and the stem :rip:

Guys i have been really rocking my solo ..

Just want to take your expert opinions on how to make sure i use my unit in a way that my battery remains healthy for a long time.

Right now i am taking some precautions or measures which i came to know ensures healthy battery life.. For example i avoid using it while charging.. also keep it from charging all the way up to its full capacity .. I always unplug it when i see it has reached to 7th level and charging light is still blinking .. Plus i also make sure not to completely drain battery using the unit .. instead i stop using it when its like 1 or 2 level of battery still left ..

Is there anything else i should take care of ? I mean for example should i be using it straight away after i have unplugged it from charging.. and should i avoid charging directly after my session when the unit is still hot ?

I think @OF would approve...
a. unplug before fully charge (flashing on 7)
b. don't drain all the way (stop at 1 or 2)
c. don't use while charging

having 2 Airs makes it easy to comply with the above...

Sounds like a great routine to me, betters the bond between man and machine!

At one time I gave some passing thought to making it easier to harvest reclaim. Perhaps we get Ed to make us a stem that will accept a glass tube as a liner? Something easy to remove (like a hook on the end of a wire) that could be 'chased' with say a syringe plunger and push all the reclaim out in a single pass?

Sounds like top points for battery treatment to me. As long as the battery area is 'only warm' (or less) I'd charge if needed. It's going to cool off before the charge ends (the place where heat damage is going to happen).

The only things I can think of revolve around incense and other offerings. Say a pinch from each new stash? Just for luck....... Until we come up with a vape God, and an approved ritual to go with it, why don't you just send the offerings to me? I'll see they're suitably used. PM me, I'll give you the address.........

Best wishes with your Solo, as you've found it's a powerful, reliable and versatile beast. Threat it right, feed it well, and it'll carry you through.

@OF .. thanks for confirming again .. :)

And what about partial charges.. i mean is it okay to do that ? .. I mean when for example i still have battery level at 4-5 and i charge it to top it up .. is it fine?

You're welcome.

I'm fine with 'early recharges', being basically lazy I usually run it down but if say I'm going out or have other 'need' for a full charge that happens for sure. If you look at the Battery University data, very little penalty is paid if you stay away from the very top and bottom of the range. And avoid high temperatures, of course.

Thanks for the kind words, although many maintain I'm not near funny enough......along with my other deficits. Still, one plays the cards dealt as they say.

Enjoy the Solo, you've sure done your homework.

SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
Have plenty of weed to put in my Solo these days, thanks to the advice given me (by a member who hangs around here a lot); who pushed me to change to hydro. Important since I rely on vaporized cannabis for pain relief and face a radical reduction on plants allowed 15 down to 6(4).
Medical marijuana continues to be under attack around the nation.
Here in Washington State the rules change again. The legislature effectively did away with designated providers by limiting to 15 plants what can be grown at a location. So even if you have all the legal paperwork, you still can not help someone in need. I was helping an 80 year old woman who had stage 4 cancer and just had a double mastectomy. Now I can only share my own crop with her-I can't grow additional plants for her. So much for, as the press likes to say, "rolling the Medical Marijuana system into the recreational system". More like Roll Over It.

And the first of the Kettle Falls Five has received a sentence.
Still don't believe Medical Marijuana is under attack?

And still no recent studies showing how vaporizers like the Solo make the whole process of consuming cannabis safer.
