The Free State Project

Been following this for a while, and wondering what other FCers thoughts on it are. The general idea is that New Hampshire was chosen because of it's political system and already established liberties. Now there is a movement of freedom enjoying individuals to move to the state in order to take advantage of this and use power in numbers to maintain this freedom. From an Australian perspective this really does seem too go to be true, and even at the most basic level the level of freedom in New Hampshire I don't see being feasible in my life time in Australia, the state and the public perception of need of state is far too strong here. Not to mention that even with it's freedoms, New Hampshire seems to have a similar crime rate and better jobs and economic prospects than Australia as well as being more socially progressive (something Australia is considered when compared to the United States overal) allowing same sex marriage and from what I understand medical for now but not rec MJ?
Any of you FCers follow any of this, know of anyone doing this or even better live in New Hampshire or moved to New Hampshire to specifically to enjoy more personal freedom? The lack of state sales and income tax as well as capital gains seem to make it idea for small business and enterprise, would make a great Mecca for MJ and specifically vaporizer innovation. Less money being extorted by those who fund the war on drugs, and more money for herbs!

There are a litter of 'free state' type of projects like floating islands, galts gulch, etc.

I like the idea very much. I would have made the trek had it not been for the geographic location. I could never hack it there. Cali has been too kind to me.

Isn't jefferson county trying to do something similar? Or become a separate state altogether? They have been talking about that for about as long as I can remember.

How does Cali go for you personally liberty wise? I like the sun and surf here in Australia it's pretty but to be honest I hate swimming in salt water and I'm no more big on sand, woods and lakes for me! I always have wanted to migrate to the states and Cali always stood out for the MJ but I don't think I could hack the firearms laws :(.

Some is good and some is bad. But I do not enjoy the political climate as much as the environmental climate. You can own a firearm for sure.

Cali is not too bad compared to many other places to live around the world. Just realize it is expensive. The women are beautiful, the weather is insanely good, if you are in the tech industry there is a LOT of money to be made. I have been thinking about learning how to do IT stuff.
