Favourite Strain Appreciation Thread

Found a new fav. Grapefruit Kush and I bought it for $5 a gram. Citrus taste and very smooth and creamy hits. I asked what was wrong with it and they said it was the end the the jar. It's not dried out either.

Been checking out this new GSCookies and family hitting the scene recently, really wish I could get a cut, but heard they have done a good job keeping it to themselves and their "cookie family."

I guess the closest we can easily purchase/grow atm is Swerve's fortune cookie, which was from a volunteer seed found in a bag of gsc.

Really dig Cali Connect and their diesel/bubba crosses, and attempted re-creation of the GSC.

Certainly find the US bred genetics to be what I look for, but there's just too much un-willingness by breeders to let cuts of the really good shit into the wild, unless you are in the right circle.

Right now my favorite strain I have gotten in the last month is one called Wreckage. It's S.A.G.E. X Trainwreck. Has a really wild taste, hard to explain. It coats my mouth in savory vapor resin and is really relaxing.

I really really like the taste of Jack Herer and the crosses of it like J-1 and XJ-13. The taste/smell is exquisite, but so hard to explain. This XJ-13 is like a light sour creamy candy lemony with a background note of pine sap taste, and excellent cerebral sativa effects. It's ok for pain and nausea, not the best though. I keep some OG around for that.

Jesus, that looks amazing. I've only seen JH pre rolls and concentrates around here. The concentrate was among the best I've ever had!

As far as flowers go, I've had the pleasure of trying out some Primus from Sweetwater farms. It's something like 26% THC and the effects are pure Sativa for me. It's in the (really) Pungent flavor category; more cheesy than skunky. I've been using that in the daytime and Nine Pound Hammer, an Indica , at night.

I'd recommend both to anyone, especially paired for day/night consumption.

This Sugar Black Rose I picked up from Altitude Organic Medicine is some of the best bud I've ever vaped. Craziest smell ever it's impossible to pin it down. Smells like a lot of different things. I started out saying it smelled like gummy candies then I opened the jar after it sat for a night and thought it smelled like bananas. The effects are incredible for sleeping. Super sedative. I can get ~20 SOLID lung fulls from a small bowl in my LSV compared to 10 or 12 normally. Highly recommend trying it if you come across it. "Sweet" would be the best general description of the smell I could give I guess.

I prefer sativas but my body does not. I get panic attacks so I mostly smoke indica. I've been told Dr Kevorkian is the best indica strain there is but haven't seen it at any clubs in NorCal. Saw it pop up a few times down in SoCal for $25/g but my personal list:

#1 white widow
#2 AK-47

Then you're in the same boat as me; I like indicas but have to grow it, sativas are the buds that I can buy. I like the sativas in my head but not so much for the body. Anyhow I thought that I'd mention that white widow is a 50/50 "balanced hybrid", and ak-47 is actually "sativa dominant". I prefer the hybrids, but right now all I have is maui-wowie which is a "classic sativa". I'll have some big bang soon tho.

The White is very nice for trying to get to sleep...

I've been dancing with Nigerian Sunshine for PTSD symptoms. Good flavor, interesting effects, not really Indica or Sativa... kind of a sideways thing.

I'm not sure of the genetics but white widow has more of a sativa high for me compared to AK47, strange

1995 Amsterdam Cannabis Cup Winner White Widow. Really nice but found some Steamy Windows in the Front Page on Zoutsteeg. Never had or seen anything like it then or since. It certainly lived up to its name. A lot of the smaller coffee shops had better quality than the Widow but they never got put forward and just disappeared.
Just re-read this and felt quite old lol

I used to like pretty much all "good" weed, but lately I have been noticing that some kinds don't agree with me. These are usually sativa, or sativa dominant strains. But it also has happened with some poorly cured indica. So I don't really know if it's sativa strains, too high of a ratio of cbn from poor curing, or perhaps contaminants like mildew or pesticides. And who really knows it the name of the strain on "the street" is even close to reality, as I found out with that "indica" (g13 is not a sativa!).

I have toxic reactions to other things as well, like in my diet and environment, so I am definitely becoming more sensitive to contaminants of all types. One thing I know for sure, is I do not ever have this reaction to the stuff I grow, or the stuff my friends do. So I suppose I need to grow my own sativa strain to see. I do have a white widow mother plant vegging that will be ready to start flowering soon but that's a hybrid.

In my neck of the northwoods, we are legal but no dispensaries here yet. And lately I get the feeling that we might be getting the cast-offs, as in the less desirable harvests from other states. So no more buying "good" weed indiscriminately, like I said idk if it's the quality or if it's just me, I think it's a little of both though.

I like my delivery guy personally but he is in it for the money (Traded new TDI diesel in for a V8 Charger). I suspect from looking close at his herb awhile back that they might be tumble sifting what they sell and then sell me the same oil with who knows what's in there. I feel so much better lately just knowing what I use is totally clean. Vaping at high temps seems to be helping my anxiety/depression also.

I did not think I liked sativas much either but my latest one was freaking amazing and I vaped it all first.
