I agree 100% with all your comments ^

actually except the no taste thing, whilst the taste isn't as prevalent as on my mighty or cloud,
i still get definitely tasty rips from the sub, just not as tasty, and you definitely have to clean it regularly if your using oil because I find the decarbed oil cooking on their for ages really begins to effect the taste of the flowers.
This is the real kicker on taste. If you leave your sub without cleaning for ages, it becomes EXTREMELY difficult to get it properly cleaned (especially if you did low temp dabs and use a dabmaster heater, which has a nasty spot right at the bottom of the heater where it sits in the atomizer that super over decarbed earl cooks into what almost looks like rust if left long enough)!

The effects on the taste of all of your hits from especially this kind of residue really makes every hit taste like generic earl with little taste.

Like my man MGG says, you should give that sub a thorough cleaning and see how you go. Remember that there's a fuckton of hot metal on that sub to get hidden bits of residue really super cooked up there over time!

canj00digit?

All my days in a daze...
That is such an epic dropdown/carb/reclaim jar setup bro - and such a perfect sized rig to go with it! :D

Thanks mate, yeah I love it, OGB did a great job!

Indeed, the Dirty Rico bubbler has found new life in my home as it's so perfect for the Sub.
It has a 6 inch base so it's super bloody stable to say the least and nice big can. :)

So i decided to pull the trigger last night on a sub. I was honestly torn between this and the herbie. both look like top of the line vapes and both look like they still have issues (this is real life after all).

after much deliberation I decided I would go with the sub as I have always been a fan of "combustion converters" a.k.a. vapes that literally give you a similar experience to smoking. The Supreme vaporizer I feel like was one of the most unpopular under rated vapes of all time and the funny thing is most people i saw gripe about it on the forums hated the exposed heating element. However subber's with scars still tout about the sub which I find odd people really didn't go for the supreme back in the day. Anyways I call these types of vapes combustion converters because you will never hear someone say they don't get a hit or they don't feel like they are getting medicated or feeling the effects.

After much more deliberation about the sub I wanted I actually took another less popular choice and went for the Eliminator. And no not to save a buck that actually didn't fit into my equation at all. I did it because the electronics in vapes are still unreliable and usually the first thing to go if not the element (in my extreme, fakexhale, and even my vapolution heater died on me granted it lasted a good long time and I left in on quiteeee a bit so cant complain as i still think the vapolution is the best 100 bucks I spent for the use). I am very familiar with torch vapes first vape ever was a vapman back in 2008, supreme was epic while the wood held up, gnome was the tastiest even better than clouds or evos I have hit, hell after some practice I can even get the vapolution pocket vape to work wonders.. While they all have a learning curve I found once I had figured out the touch on each vape (my supreme digital readout when out longggg before I stopped using the device) and they always gave consistent desired results I could mimic again and again. I found little to no reviews or vids on the ufo or the eliminator, but I've always the more mechanical a device is the more I end up appreciating it in the long run gives me some user gratification when I get it down just right.

The titanium atomizer looks like a nice bonus for the eliminator and quicker heat time makes sense over SS imho for a torcher and I figure this vape will last me for at least a few years if not forever if properly maintained and cleaned which is why mechanical vapes will always win over there convenient electric counterparts for me.

When it arrives I will give a more detailed breakdown and analysis of the Eliminator, and if I am not too medicated maybe I will get around to making a vid.

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone who takes part in FC I was a very active member on these forums for many years and have just recently returned when looking into the market again to see what is currently available. All true vapists know that there is no where near a "best vape" on the market today, but only a rapidly evolving market that has come leaps and bounds in recent years and I must say all of the valid input from loyal FC'ers is worth much more than the pricetags I would have wasted not getting what I really wanted.

Whats the suggested method for fixing the bottom part of the atomizer than unscrews?

Its like mine is "stripped/stuck". It won't loosen or tighten any.. and right now its in a really loose and hazardous position as is. I don't want them finally falling apart and onto my hand when at hot temps

Advice would be A+

edit: if I've found something i hate about this vape. Its this. Ive cut my hand 4 fuckin times tryin to tighten it..

As above use some thick leather welding gloves and do it hot.Sublimate is very sticky and makes the atomiser hard to undo when cold.

I was still using the original screens and kept them clean, they seem to hold up well for me.I then got the Iolite screens but i do not know how good they are as my sub stopped working properly again lol.

okay so the eliminator arrived to day which is epic.

quick question on cleaning the machining oils off. Can you soak the Teflon in iso? did not know if that would hurt anything and has anyone removed the Teflon and replaced with silicone tubing instead of just adding it for an extra seal? I am not the biggest fan of Teflon but I know it is supposedly safe. same thing the PV instructions said torch it but can I torch the bit with the Teflon on it?

I washed my teflon bush with dishwashing liquid.

Its time to put the consumption pig back in its pen.
I have just received a set of spoons and the smidgen spoon is good for 15/20mg. Not quite enough to cover the screen.
Time to give those log lovers a run for their money.

It is a sad day, my sub is being returned due to lack of heat.
A little peeved about postage issues and loss of unit for up to a month.

Thats a struggle right there..

How high of a setting were you having to use?

Maxed out all the way at 12.

My watt meter arrived today, so for some numbers.

228v
.46A at L12
43w at L6
60w at L12

Constant 36.8v at the heater plug throughout the temp range.

Heater 27.8 ohms.

I cant get a reliable temp with the infra red on the shiny surfaces.

Have had the same issue twice myself and my sublimator has been with them for nearly a month now. They keep saying it will be done next week.It has cost me £70 in postage now on top of the original price.I do hope they sort it out soon. Was the xlr connectors loose fitting?as i think this was causing mine to short over time.

I feel the connectors are OK, if there was a connection issue you would feel the hot spot on the handle plus the numbers don't suggest it.

I think it may lie in the electronics.

The connectors i had were not ok,they work apart when you lift the head.I use xldrs most days with my work. The ones i had did not have the indent to secure the male to female, they had the locating ridge but not the indent for the spring clip.Which means a bad connection. Now if xlr's are not connected, seated correctly they buzz with pa equipment which is a short.
Just to add sublimatior and planetvape have been really honest and helpful trying to sort this issue out for me,but boy do i miss the sublimator due to every other vape being wispy compared to the devastating sublimatior hits.

The other night I saw I had a leftover Backwood leaf that my combustion friend had left from the day before. Feeling adventurous, and because I honestly always did enjoy a good Backwood rolled up, I decided to see what would happen if I dropped a scrap of it in with the herb. Tasted pretty bad but man, knocked me for a loop
