Thanks for the replies. I guess we'll see how it does when it comes in.

I was super stoked for it, for a long time. At this point a lot of that enthusiasm has been lost with time. I don't see it having more value add than the Pinnacle Pro does for me. But clearly that's speculation on my part.
So much better than the pinnacle. The flavor is so much better way fatter rips. Alot less material.

this is what keeps me from jumping onboard.

would love to see an 18650 version produced that is meant to be used for sessions.

You can use it as a session vape as long as you don't want to do like 4 bowls in a row. The silicon tip makes it usable in a session. Also with water it will blow people away. I have gotten my self and 8 people stoned in3 bowls.

To anyone who has a volcano and a gh does the gh make your throat sore like the volcano

Neither of them make my throat sore but I tend to use lower temps, 2-4 on the GH and 360-390 on the Volocano, unless I am using concentrates. Towards the end of the bag, the vapor gets a little scratchier on my throat, more or less, depending on the strain but I've never had a real sore throat from any vaporizer.

The GH and similar vapes, like the Inhalater, with such short vapor paths can put out some hot and sometimes harsh vapor that can irritate your throat. I have found that when using the GH and other vapes, how you inhale can make a huge difference in smoothness/comfort-ability and for example, when I use the GH, my draws are never over 8 seconds and are usually closer to 5 seconds because it gets hotter and all that vapor at once on your throat during long draws, can be harsh. It may depend on what material your vaping among other factors? There is a lot of room to play around, different temperatures, different grind consistencies, herb moisture level, clean vs. dirty vape and components, draw speed and duration, different materials, amount of herb etc. can all effect the overall experience.

im sure turning it off and on works well, but its clearly still warming up from the videos ive seen even when doing so. the video TVS posted shows his friend take two rips and mention its getting warm. imagine ripping it 30-40 times (multiple loads and possibly a cell change) w/out waiting minutes in between each rip. that thing is going to get hot.

regardless i still want this vape in a larger form factor due to cell capacity and bowl size.

i have, but the zion is not a cylindrical shape and not easily pocketable. not near as convenient.

make a larger grasshopper... maybe name it the cricket lol... and there you go. i just dont see myself needing those super quick discreet flower rips. ive got concentrates for that use of which is far more discreet than the GH.

so i will wait to see what they come up with next. of course only after all of you dedicated backers get your GH orders!

Not to go back to the OT, but I think an supercharged 18650 blunt Hopper would have to be called Locust aye?

Also re Zion, I don't know if you've checked out the thread recently dude, but yeah it totally can do both amazingly, ofcourse much bigger (still plenty portable imo though), but @RastaBuddhaTao is also working on smaller models, in the candidate threads. I think eventually there will be a single 18650 18mm Zion like what youre describing...

For now its been more interesting imagining what the Hopper will be like exactly, bc I'm already getting more from Zion than FF or ESV, very curious about the GH signature... Ofcourse GH also offers the industrial sexiness vs the natural beauty of Zion

Got my water tool adapter today, can't wait to use it with my gh
How about a little tease  Titanium Grasshopper at 4.5 (temp) with a Mini Hydrotube.

Two days with my Titanium Hopper and so far so good, it works and hits like a champ. It is the real deal and everything I had always hoped it to be. You can hit the hopper as long and as hard as you want and it will keep up, it really is amazing.

Now that being said, just know the mouthpiece does get hot as others have said. One or two hits while it will be warm you will be fine, but anymore and you wanna either use the silicone mouthpiece or give it a minute or so to cool off. No biggie, especially if you are using the Grasshopper as a one hitter.

The battery is also something to be mindful of, I have been getting around 20 hits per full battery. Purchasing multiple batteries is highly recommended. A note to be made about the pass through charging, if the battery is completely empty you will not be able to hit your hopper. It seems you have to wait a bit for the battery to charge before using the Grasshopper.

20 hits per battery is almost half as much as others have reported. I'm guessing you were using it at higher temperatures considering that in your video you use it at 4.5?

Awesome video thanks. temp would make a difference with length of battery time also length of draw - variables involved when it comes to how quickly the battery gets maxed

Last night I performed a test with a full battery. Set the hopper at 4 and tallied 19, half the hits were mouth to hopper and the other half with my water pipe. The hits with the water pipe tend to be longer, keep that in mind. I packed three full bowls during this period btw.

Today I did some outdoor stuff and shared the hopper with two friends. I estimate we hit the vape about 25 times before the battery died. Hit it a few times at three and then went up to a four for 2/3rds of the hits.

So far this is what I have experienced.

~20 hits would probably be good if you're using it at temp 4+ and drawing on it for 12+ seconds at a time with a water tool. What the others have reported with 30-40 hits is probably at temps 2-4 and normal length draws less than 10 seconds, which is how I see myself using this thing. If it's just me vaping, a full charge will probably last me 2 maybe 3 days, which is plenty for me, I mean I have to charge my iPhone everyday lol

2 more GH bite the dust, in that reddit thread about a broken one from a day or two ago.

I don't know whether to hope I get mine soon (regular backer with a "July" ship date), or hope I don't get mine till they work out the kinks.

Can't imagine how dissapointing it must be to wait so long, finally get it, use it, love it....then have it die on you....

I want one but I'm going to wait it out to see if this thing is a flip-or-flop. Makes you grateful for the one's built like tanks. (Solo, Volcano, etc.)

But we haven't heard complaints about the gh customer service yet. When there's a problem, they seem to address it quickly. I think we were all anticipating a few bumps in the road. Since we don't know how many have been shipped, we don't know the % of problems. I'm gonna keep my glass half full and remain optimistic.

Rome wasn't built in a day. The Solo and the Volcano were not tanks when they first came out. It takes years to get all the bugs worked out of a design. That's why they're tanks.

I'm happy to wait for mine while they work out these issues. At least it seems like they're starting to roll out batches to the public, so that's a good sign.

I wouldn't be too disappointed, I'm sure Matt & Trevor are giving GH owners top notch customer service right now, proactively sending out replacement hoppers.

The question is, how much longer will they perform the "slow rollout" before they start batch shipping several hundred at a time?

I have a feeling my August shipping date is slipping away fast

They could have shipped 1000 that we don't know about, and not a single problem with any of them- true, that is possible.

But, for sample size = GH we've heard about on FC/reddit, there have been an aweful lot of failures. Yes, they seem to responsive about replacing them, but that's also costing them extra money and probably slowing everything else down.

I KNOW my July shipping date is getting less and less likely!

Oh and BTW, I bought a Solo about a year and half ago, and it arrived DOA. FWIW....

I didn't realize the Volcano and Solo were not solid from the start, I never heard of problems. I am cheering for the GH, hope it ends up with "tank" status. Are these GH's beta units?

I know this has been said before but it appears to bear repeating - I've worked in tech support for more than a decade. These issues still qualify as first product launch issues in my eyes and they appear to be doing the right thing in fixing them and (hopefully) doing RCA and implementing fixes. Hopefully the issues aren't caused by a batch of faulty parts - if they have to halt production to re-make something that isn't good.

Short, guessing answer is Yes. They never really disclosed their beta plan, maybe too caught up in promising shipments?, but it makes sense that if they've only been doing final assembly for a couple months, then the next step is beta. So few units out, to people who weren't explicitly told they were Betas, wish they could just make it official, bump the participation up to a couple hundred Hoppers, and give it a timeline so we could wait in bigger increments than 2 weeks.

I just thought most companies roll out 25-100 betas and wait a couple months to see if problems arise. If that's what they did, I would love to have one of those solid beta units, that apparently didn't have any problems of these newer ones.

Just joined this site, mainly because I got my first vaporiZer. My question to you grasshopper users would be: do you still use it everyday? Is it truly the best portable vape you own? Why or why not.

I've had mine for 3 weeks now, I still use it everyday, it's the primary way I consume now and pretty much he only vape I use now. I use my pax2 for big groups or mixing with tobacco and I never use my Firfefly anymore but 9 out of 10 I'm grabbing the grasshopper.

It is by FAR the best vape I own.

Does everyone remember Buzz's 1st video testing the gh with his roommate? They pretty consistently forgot to shut it off between pulls and went through several ovens. That looked like a session to me!

I had my GH with me on vacation yet. Yes you "could" use the GH like a session vape but I'm telling you, once you have one, you probably won't use it that way. I smoke cigarettes so I get how people like the activity of Vaping and I get why people like having a shareable device. If sharing it with people (like its really important to you that all your friends but their mouth on your item in order to get high) is MORE important that flavor, stealth, start time etc then I would recommend spending the extra $100 on a pax2 or $200 on a crafty.

If you're open minded about changing your habits, I think you'll find when used optimally, like it was designed to be used, like some others have said, a one hit wonder, all of the heat concerns just go away. By the end of our vacation nobody even asked for the mouthpiece and everyone just picked up the GH when they felt like taking a few hits and put it away.

I totally get the allure of sitting in a circle smoking pot and everyone doing it at the same time. It's ALSO very nice having a device like the GH where everyone can treat themselves as much as they want at their own pace and not having consumption interrupt the flow of a conversation. Whether it's a joint or pax, we've all been there waiting for someone who is preaching to "pass the mic" while you watch your joint burn down or pax cook up. It's really nice NOT having that probes but if you ABSOULUTELY MUST have all the inconvenience of a "session" by all means spend a lot more money on what are in my experience (only speaki of the pax2) inferior products.

The GH is kind of a new product category, I certain recommend it to anyone and all of my friends from my trip last week ordered one. In fact my one buddy ordered two because IF as I've been saying, you really need someone consuming at the same time as you because your weed doesn't work alone, the solution to that is to just have two of them! I can't wait till cannabis consumption places really open here in Colorado, a coffee shop or bar is where I think the GH really shines.
